How much money do you spend on groceries?

i would love to spend that much
i spend about $330 (AUD) a week for a family of 5.
don't know where it all goes.
we seem to run out of food by the end of the week.0 -
Around $50 a week for two people, plus bulk items we bought a few weeks ago and plus produce we sometimes buy at the local farmer's market. But if we make a special trip to Trader Joe's, definitely more, maybe around $100.0

That is impressive - must be very inexpensive to live in sunny Florida...especially with two teenage boys in the house! Do they even eat there? (LOL)
I'm just remembering how my brother was when he was between 15 - 19...he would eat massive amounts
(I mean, whole pizza's and his 'cereal bowl' was a large mixing bowl!)
My nephew ate like that as a teenager. By restricting the quantity of cereal we had in the house, he was encouraged to learn to cook!
He would create ever more wondrous menus involving huge amounts of (cheap) pasta!0 -
for two people we spend fifty bucks a week. Not including the other stuff like toilet paper, cat food and ltter, baggies, cleaning products, etc.. Then when you add that all in. I usually hit close to a hundred each week. I keep it smart and basic. I make a shopping list and meal plan for the week before I go. I usually start it in the beginning of the week and just add ideas as I go. Right before Friday afternoon hits, I make sure to make a whole new list nice and neat. I pride myself in keeping close to our budget. I check out new recipes, I get creative with what I have on hand, I check the sales at the stores, I check for coupons and deals. I think with my meal and grocery planning, that we eat better now than we ever did before I started my journey (I never refer to it as a diet)0

Live in Florida. $600 a month, that includes everything, for 2 adults, 2 sons, 19 and 16 yrs old.
That does not include eating out, which we do a few times a month.

anyone who refers to Florida as sunny must not go there. It rains EVERYDAY. just saying. :laugh:0 -
My boyfriend and I split the bill and shop for the two of us. My bill is usually between 55 and 80$, and his is much lower because I buy more "health" foods, like chia seeds, for example. Keep in mind that we are students: if I had a bigger budget, I think I would allow myself to spend much more!0

I spend between 400-550$ a month and that feeds me, hubs, 6 year old and 10 month old. I buy rice, lower cost meats, lots of veggies (fresh and frozen), deli meats and sodas. I also buy a couple big containers of baby formula, baby cereals and some jarred foods.
These are foods we normally always buy:
20 lb bag white rice (1 every couple months), mac and cheese, gravy mixes and potato mixes, taco shells
avocados, tomatoes, strawberries, bananas, frozen mixed fruit, lettuces, radishes, carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers, guac, salsa
eggs, chicken breast, chicken legs/thighs (hey, it's cheap), corn dogs, pastrami/turkey breast, brauts occasionally, turkey bacon, turkey pepperoni
mozza cheese, kraft singles, shredded mexi cheese, string cheese0 -
I spend as much as it takes. I need 200g protein, something like 60-80g of good fat, and some good carbs. I just skip buying video games and stupid stuff because my body is a top priority.0

I spend, on average, between 50-70 per week for two people. We usually get takeout once a week, and might meet friends for dinner one night every other week. I've been actively trying to avoid buying lunch out since I'm buying more than enough groceries to cover those meals (but sometimes I still do it out of sheer laziness).
It's not always 50-70 each week though... some weeks when there are awesome meat sales I'll stock up and freeze. Then the next week, we might only spend 35 between the two of us because all we need is milk and vegetables.
I grew up in a house where my mom meal-planned around what was on sale, and I think that habit has helped me save a lot. Only buying sale items forces you into eating a variety of stuff anyway, so I kind of like it.0 -
About $250/month for just me and my husband.0

I hope you are joking about $50 burger :noway:
Have you ever been to Disney World? :laugh:0 -
Very similar to me and my husband. I do wish I cold get more into meal-planning ahead of time, we always kinda just wing-it but that leads so sometimes not the best choices.0

My boyfriend and I spend an exorbitant amount on food.
Before we lived together, I lived off of about $35 a week; I was a student, I rarely ate out and I ate meat sparingly which was a mixture of it being too expensive for my budget and just not liking a lot of meat.
Now he spends $600 a month at the grocery store, and I spend roughly $200 which is for the nights we eat out. Since I'd rather spend $35-50 and have us get meals we enjoy rather than fast food, I always go through mine. Worst part is, he generally goes over budget.
My portion of the groceries has almost no pre-packaged or prepared foods, but nearly everything he gets is.0 -
$200 a week for 4, counting paper products and all that stuff. We typically eat out once a week too though, and hubby usually buys lunch at work.0

Wow...obviously I have no idea - I live in Alberta, Canada. I have this 'picture' in my mind of what Florida is like...sunny everyday and is the ideal place to move to when one retires because it's so sunny, beautiful and relaxing there!0 -
About $50 a week for two (2) people0
-
$150/week family of 3. My huband and I buy lunch at work a couple days a week and that's not including the one night a week we do pizza or chinese or something for dinner...0

$450 a month for 2 adults and 2 children. I focus on unprocessed foods and try to get a lot of fruits and veggies, but we do not buy organic from the grocery store. We grow some of our own vegetables. We buy pork and beef in bulk from a local farmer, but buy grocery store chicken, eggs, and dairy.0
-
150 for 3 people.
That's around my budget for three people, too.0 -
$500 a month or so for the 2 of us. I do buy lots of sweet stuff to bake and give away, just cause I love to bake.0

I am single, with no kids and spend $40-$45 per week. Generally, I try to make meals that cost about $6 a day total: $1 for breakfast, $2 for lunch, $2 for dinner, and $1 for snacks. I eat out 1-2 meals per week which is not included in this, so $6 x 30 days is $45 a week, give or take $2-4 for eating out (that comes out of my entertainment budget, not my food budget :-)).0
-
About $50 a week for one person. I shop farmers markets, regular markets, independent food providers, and Whole Foods when I get paid and am feeling fancy.0
