Metallica, Godsmack, Eminen, etc...anything with a beat that is uptempo. LL Cool J "Mama Said Knock You Out" & Pantera "Walk" are 2 of the songs that get me moving.

My musics varies upon my moods. I like to listen to High Energy Happy techno (Happy hardcore) or like in pandora station Techno Gym, but I will change to bands like ICP/Eminem, or to Muse or Queen, or sometimes some good ole 70-80s mixes.... but nearly all the time I prefer happier music. While sometimes having angry rappers yelling at me is what I need, most the time it's something that I can smile to while pumping, or laugh while I am doing situps making my stomache double burn.

Oh... and do NOT disregard the classics... they are in the same tempo/beat as most Metal.. and while being great to listen to can also give some good pump!

I got sick of all the music in my ipod so I just stick to using my hubby's mp3 player and listen to the local radio station. That way I never know what is coming next.
  • I've been listening to a lot of Reggaeton lately. Before that it was mostly EDM, generally just whatever Ministry of Sound playlist came up first. Or a "workout mix" on 8tracks, because I have unlimited data on my phone. My last.fm is a good idea of what I listen to - last.fm/user/theresnofight. I'm currently trying to figure out my BPM so I can create a playlist that it perfectly in sync with my running pace.

I vary my music quite a bit, but I often listen to classical cardio, or rock; anything with a good beat that will keep my feet moving.

    Hey there! :-)
I listen to whatever gets me moving and makes me push harder, I try to change the playlist everyday so I won't get bored with the same songs and then repeat them after some time.
Some of my favourite songs while working out:
Run this town - Jay Z feat. Kanye West and Rihanna
    Hell&Back - Kid Ink
    Can't hold us - Macklemore
    U + Ur hand - Pink
Watch out for this - Major Lazer
Hall of fame - The Script and Will i am
    Right Round - FloRida
I can't think of anything more at the moment, lol

I like rage against the machine when I work out, especially when running. Makes me feel like a bad *kitten*.

When I listen to music working out, it's usually pretty intense: metal, old rap, old hardcore (like Dead Kennedys), or fast punk. Music to kill by, basically.

But normally I listen to podcasts or Howard Stern. I find that the time passes faster when I listen to people talking.

Been getting into early satanic heavy metal lately (Mayhem - De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, Emperor - Nightside Eclipse, Burzum - Filosofem, and Darkthrone - Northern Sky), and occasionally some polka-santaic-metal (Fintroll-S/T) when I need something more uplifting.

Well, that and a lot of Conway Twitty (We only make believe).

It's amazing what 4 years of college radio does to your musical tastes.

I mostly listen to deep house and a lot trap the dirtier the better. I love to do my intervals on the drops! That being said, I can deal with almost anything as long as it has a quick enough beat to keep me going hard. For the past few weeks I've been getting down on this new Spotify playlist: http://open.spotify.com/user/omarpena5/playlist/0uMsU3MeBJWi7x17ODPdGx

    Thanks!

I can only listen to M. Shadows sing one song before my ears start to bleed :s

I listen to Trivium, Atreyu, Killswitch Engage, Unearth, Shadows Fall, etc.

To each his/her own, I suppose. I really like his voice, but I am a musician and their music is phenominal, so that is my main purpose in listening.

I just play one song...on loop. Everyone has that one song...I only focus on what I am doing and move to the next set. The whole workout is a blur, and then it is over.

I saw your profile. I'd think you'd appreciate Matt Heafy's brilliance on the guitar.

I do like Trivium, along with every other band that you mentioned. Especially Killswitch. They are a little too chaotic at times though. I love being able to hear every pick of a solo (which is why although I apprecate syn's technicality and melodies in his later albums, I love the high gain picking in Waking the Fallen. Easier to hear all of the notes).

But like I said, everyone has a personal preference.

Metal & Hip Hop too. I'd share the Spotify account, but I'm too dumb to figure it out.

Everything from the Ronettes to Girl Talk to Clarence Gatemouth Brown to Wu-Tang.

I really want to find a good symphony to dead lift to. Maybe Beethoven 9. Or some Mahler symphony.
