Thank you! You have made me cry. My purpose in starting Just for Today was to try to touch someone's life. What I've found is that my life is the one that has been touched.0 -

Good for you! I don't believe in coincidences, but "God-incidences", so your post was a confirmation for me of something my brother had shared with me recently. He's a recovering alcoholic. For decades he drank himself into oblivion in order to avoid facing life. He told about this one AA member who shared a mantra similar to what you're using. She/He uses the phrase: "I'll have a drink tomorrow" every morning before getting out of bed. Then, when the next day comes, they say the same thing for the following day. Really doing this is just a way to live out the "One Day at a Time" code all addicts going through AA or NA use. I know I've always been addicted to food. It's controlled my 53+ years, not the other way around. So, I've decided to use, "Tomorrow I'll have a ____________." (then I'll fill in the blank with whatever food/treat I'm craving that day)
Best of luck you you and to all of us who are taking it One Day at a Time.0 -
