I do genealogy for my family, so I actually know for certain! I'm mostly Irish, with some German/Swiss/Scottish/English thrown in, and my great-grandfather came from the Métis people in Quebec - he called himself a "French-Speaking Indian."

Some of my family was in America as far back as the Mayflower, and some of them only came here within the last 100 years. Definitely a mutt.

I think it's funny how every white person who claims Native American heritage says they're Cherokee. lol
Not really sure what you mean by this? I hope if people claim that they are of Native American heritage they know what tribe they are from. By the way I am Native American from the Cherokee tribe and have the registration to prove it even though I am as white as they come with red hair and an amazing amount of angle kisses.

    Mom: Polish
    Dad: German/Russian

I too am into genealogy and I am really focused on my Polish heritage, as that is who I identify with the most. (Plus there is a professional genealogist who already has done my dad's side back into early 1600's). I have gone back as far as early 1700's on my polish side, and know that we are from Gora Znin. I am hoping to go there one day and dig deeper in local records, just need to expand upon the 10 words of Polish I know. Those 10 words won't get me very far!
