What to do with tuna

Tuna patties are where it's at. I don't have any clue what their calorie count is but here's what I do and it is delicious.
Open and drain several cans of tuna, empty tuna into mixing bowl.
Open a pack of saltines and start crushing them over the tuna and mixing them in.
Add an egg or two depending on how much tuna/crackers you are making.
Eventually you get this mixture that you can form into balls, this is what you're looking for
Now heat up a non-stick pan and spray it with some no stick spray.
Form a couple tuna patties and toss them in, browning them on each side.
These things are super delicious solo or with some peach mango salsa. I usually make quite a few all at once and toss the rest in the fridge. They reheat pretty well!

I've made 'tuna cakes' using the recipe for crab cakes & replacing the crab with tuna.

Tuna Salad Appetizers
1 can Clover light tuna in water
¼ cup chopped celery
¼ cup chopped red or while onion
¼ cup broccoli florets
2 tbsp Miracle Whip Non-Fat Dressing (green label, 15cals per tbsp)
1 tsp balsamic vinegar
16 spinach leaves
Fresh ground pepper
Directions: Drain tuna. Mix all ingredients together and spoon onto freshly washed spinach leaves. Makes
approximately 16.
WW Points: 0
* If you eat all 16 its 3 WW points or if you use the more commonly found Miracle Whip Light 30 cal per
tbsp its 4 WW point for all 16.

bumping this to read later for recipes. My favorite thing is to add a little diced tomato, chopped celery, avacado, mayo, flaxseed, spicy brown mustard, lemon juice, and crushed red pepper. Mix well, and stuff a pita with the tuna mixture and spinach or chard and chow down.0

I use fresh tuna for this but I suppose you could sub canned tuna (two cans)
1 Tuna steak (about 8 oz)
3/4 C Picksweet Seasoning (bell peppers, onion and celery)
1 tsp chopped garlic
1/4 tsp Old Bay Seasoning
1/4 tsp Nature's Seasoning
1 Tbs lemon juice
1 egg
1/2 C Pepperidge Farm Herb Seasoned Stuffing
Poach tuna steak in water, lemon juice and Old Bay Seasoning. Save the poaching liquid. Saute veggies until soft and clear. In a small bowl, combine the poaching liquid and stuffing. Shred the tuna, add to stuffing mixture. Beat egg slightly and add this and Nature's Seasoning to the stuffing/tuna mixture. Divide into 4 portions and shape into patties. Rest in refrig for at least an hour.
I use a Seasoned Bread Crumbs for dip/flip before frying in non stick skillet sprayed with olive oil. Fry on both sides long enough to cook egg and heat thoroughly.0 -

Who would have thought tuna would get this much love??? Great recipes! Here's how I like to eat it:
- mixed w/ avocado, diced onion and celery, S&P, fresh lemon juice
-mixed w/ hummus and same above minus avocado
-add to pasta w/ halved cherry tomatoes, maybe some black olives
-instead of pasta, make spiralized zucchini noodles then add the cherry tomatoes, diced red peppers, etc.
-stuffed inside a beefsteak tomato
-tuna quesadilla
-tuna patties - use a binder like breadcrumbs, egg white, some chopped veggies and seasoning of choice
-straight out of a packet on Mary's Gone Crackers w/ a little salsa
-top a mixed green salad w/ veggies (red pepper, diced carrot, cucumber, beets, onion). For dressing I just use a bit of fresh lemon juice and a spritz of olive oil0 -

I like to mix tuna w/ penne -- and I enjoy the flavored tuna so I don't have to add hardly anything into my pasta.0

A bit of mayo, some honey mustard, lemon juice, pepper and relish or chopped pickle. I eat it on top of some higher-fiber multi-grain crackers as a meal. It's relatively low calorie and I find it filling.0

*Altered from a Kraft recipe.
2 cans tuna, drained,
(6 oz.) Stuffing Mix (I use low sodium Stove-Top)
1 cup Shredded Low-Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese
3/4 cup water
2 green onions, sliced
1/3 cup light Mayo
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
Mix all together and shape into patties (makes about 12). Leave in the fridge for at least 30 min. Heat a prying pan to medium heat, cook patties a few at a time for about 6-10 minutes - turn after 3-4 minutes, until golden brown.
Soooooo yummy!
