Oh look at me....I just posted on last weeks. Copy and paste it is!
Good morning Ya'll! Looks like everyone is doing better this weekend! Had a bit of an off scale victory this weekend. I was getting ready for church Sunday morning and the pair of slacks that were getting a little too big last weekend...we're down right frumpy looking this week!!!!
I finally broke through my weight gain earlier in January and lost a "new" pound on my check in. Wow, vacation is really motivating. Or at least all the pictures that are going to be taken  Hopefully by next week I can break through my 10 lb mark. That will be 15 lbs since spring! SO excited for it.
I'm going to have to go through my summer clothes to make sure there are things in there that I can wear without looking frumpy. Would like to buy some new clothes, but SOOOO don't have the money for it. Especially since the kids needed a whole new wardrobe. My 5 year old isn't handing down his old stuff like he used to. Too worn and torn to let my little one wear them. :grumble:0 -
New week here we go ladies!0
-
@ Stacey..I too LOVE to bake with and for my kids. It's hard, they deserve a little of a treat regardless of what mom needs to eat. I feel your pain. Brownies are my weakness too. I try to make them the treat that THEY like that I'm not a huge fan of. (they haven't had brownies FOREVER......now I feel bad that I depriving my kids of brownies! LOL. I bake alot of muffins, cause I can ignore them...sometimes or atleast keep it to one (200cals) and sugar cookies. If I'm going to eat a cookie, it's going to have chocolate or molasses in them.0
-
I did the same thing, DJ!
WTG Stacey! Way to work that self-control. I don't know if I've ever been able to eat just one cookie. That's why I don't bake.
Welcome Ashley! Yay Em!
Today my friend is coming over for a playdate/visit. I have to clean my house. I had planned to work out this morning, but since now I have to rearrange my schedule I'm going to have to try to do it this afternoon. That's ok. I haven't seen her in a while. I'm just feeling a little out of sorts because this was just planned last night. I'm not a very spontaneous person, especially when it comes to having people in my space. I'll get over it.
I did plan ahead my food for today, and if I stick to it I'll be good on everything except sodium. Woot!
Have a great Monday everybody!0 -
Stacey~Way to go! I wish I could say the same for me....for some reason the weekend=ice cream, ice cream and more ice cream. For crying out loud I ate it for a MEAL! But back on track this week.
Katie~I had to LOL to your comment about being Bears fans. When I told the hubby about it he said they are Bears fans aren't they. I really didn't want to watch the game but I did anyways. Of course I fell asleep for a little while, part way through the 3rd and some of the 4th.
Well yesterday I had a NSV....a pair of pants that I haven't been able to wear comfortably for like 7 years fit comfortably. I could zip and button without laying on the bed to help me do it. My thighs have slimmed down some too because they weren't skin tight on my thighs. WOOHOO!!! Well best be off I need to get the kids off to school. Hope you all have a great day/week.0 -
katiem--lol--i've eaten cookies for a meal, so i hear ya!!
must admit--come 7:30last night i had no more will power and ate more cookies. boooo. but they were GOoo-oooOD. managed to leave 2 for dd1 to take to school.
like the idea of baking them something i don't really care for. they like sugar cookies and i don't--so that will be next when it's time for sweets.
did part of ballet this am. now i need to get ready for the day. will try to fit in other 1/2 later.
nicole--thanks for keeping this going week after week! (hugs)
congrats to everyone on your successes! keep going!0 -
hey everyone! hope you had a great weekend. i spent the better half of sunday cleaning out my girls old clothes to get ready to sell at mops consignment sale in a few weeks. hoping to make a little money to buy me and the girls some stuff. on week 3 of c25k program and feeling wonderful.0

Morning All
As of this morning I am down 15lbs, woohoo!! 5 more to go to get to that first goal of 20lbs down and prebaby weight!! I also lost another 1/2 inch on my belly, thighs & arms, unfortunately also down an inch on my chest. I was kinda hoping to keep that for awhile, haha! I figured the belly would of been more but I also got a surprise this morning it is that TOM, my 3rd since baby but the first really good one and the cramps have hit hard this morning. I was so pumped last night to get up & get my workout in & it has yet to happen since I woke up with these cramps. I did get my 2nd off to his first day of preschool and he didn't even bother to say goodbye, haha. He has always been like that though so I wasn't really surprised that he was fine on his own but it's still just a little sad I guess. Well I hope to maybe fit my workout in at nap time, I figure out that I can do it in my oldest room since he has the most floor space & he is at school so that is what I will try to do. I just have to make myself do it cause I can't have a whole bad week.0 -
Down another 2 lbs last week, wohoo! I started week 2 of C25K yesterday (a day early) since I have infant CPR and work on Tuesday and will miss a day of work outs. I always feel like such a faker posting here since I do work, but it's usually just every other weekend! I just spent 45 mins on the phone (most of it on hold) with Medela since my pump died a few weeks ago. Fingers crossed the little one takes a 2nd nap later and I can do some weights since this one is a bust. She has been fighting the 2nd nap, lately, and staying up way too late at night. Just when I think we have a routine something goes and smashes it.0
-
Wildcat~Don't feel like a faker posting here. I was a Sahm up until last Monday and I still post here even though I don't "officially" sah full time. I work 2 hours a day 5 days a week. There are others that have posted here that are wahm and have part time jobs.
Way to go to everyone that has had a loss this last week and also way to go to those that haven't but have fought their "dragons" this last week.0 -
Good morning ladies! Congrats to all of you who have lost this past week! I'm holding steady for now but it's almost TOM so I can live with it. I had my first work out at the new gym today. The place is so much nicer than the Y though it lacks a pool. I tried a new cardio machine an AMT adaptive motion trainer a cross between stair master and elliptical it was tough but good! I have an orientation with a trainer on Wednesday to go through the weight machines so I am only going to do cardio until then. I way over did it last Thursday and was sore enough I could barely walk for the next 3 days. Don't want to do that again.
As for the baking thing..I love to bake and eat yummy baked things. I can't have just one it's more like this, one about mid morning 2 after lunch, another mid afternoon and 2 more after dinner add that up and that's half a dozen just in one day! It is easier to not start eating them, if I resist eating one I'm good otherwise it's all down hill until they're gone!0 -
Great to see so many successes on the scale and measurements today. I'm going to way and measure tomorrow but I'm a bit nervous after this weekend. Sat. I just skipped dinner because I was still full from my lunch and dessert, LOL. Yesterday was not good once our friends showed up with queso and chips.
Oh and to top it off the dog ate my veggie tray. No, that's not a joke, she really did eat everything but the celery although she attempted one piece and apparently didn't like it because it was spit up under the table. WHY do I have a dog that loves veggies, why couldn't she go after the brownies or chips. Bad Dog!
Getting ready to go workout now. I would love to do the c25k program, is anyone planning on starting it soon?? I'd love to have someone to start with.
Amy0 -
Looks like everybody's having nice successes with that scale! Awesome.
Amy, I'd like to start c25k, but I think I'm going to wait until the weather breaks. It's just too cold for my asthmatic lungs. Plus, I don't really relish the idea of hitting an ice patch and eating pavement. Because I would. I'm smooth like that. I've heard there are podcasts available to download that help you with the timing, so you're not constantly checking your watch. Have you seen those?
My house is clean enough. Not perfect, but good enough. The kids have been staring out the front door waiting for their friend to get here, and I decided I needed a few minutes to catch my breath before they arrive. I'll be happy to see them, but I'm looking forward to when they leave so I can do my workout!0 -
Hi Ladies!
I found last week's SAHM post and wanted to jump in, but figured it would be better to wait until a new week started. My name is Kim, I have one almost 2 year old little boy. I do work a bit outside the home, but he comes to work with me, so I am still always with my LO.
I hope everyone had a great weekend. Last night was a challenge for me....I made chicken wings and different dips and stuff, but I managed to just stick with the vegetables. So, that win goes to me0 -
Welcome Kim! Good for you sticking with those veggies last night.0
-
nicole: Love the new pic. Sure going to miss Phil this season. RIP0

Hello everyone! Congrats to everyone with their victories on and off the scales! I weigh myself on Tuesdays and am not excited about it this week because I've been in the red with my calories too many times last week. I did learn something though! I cannot bake anymore cookies and expect not to eat too many of them! Funny how you ladies were talking about baking and cookies in particular. We just got a new oven after being without a working one for 4 loooong months. The first thing my kids requested were chocolate chip cookies! The days that I totally ignored them, I was fine. But if I ate one it was all over. So then I thought I would make HEALTHY cookies. I mean really healthy.... http://viveleveganrecipes.blogspot.com/2009/04/super-charge-me-cookies.html ...... and be able to eat cookies with a clear conscience, but NOOOOO. I can't eat just one of these either! So no more cookies for me. They are just way too easy to grab. And they are just way too yummy. From now on if I want a cookie, I will buy ONE from somewhere that makes wonderful cookies and I will eat it really slowly and by myself, sitting down, and as a reward for being good all week. ;-)
Amy, that is too funny about your dog eating your veggie tray! Weird dog! I would totally have gone for the queso!

Good evening everyone! Congrats to everyone for making their goals and losses. Today was such a busy day for me and my dumb butt stayed up last night to watch the Super Bowl and then Glee afterwards and by the time it was all over, it was after midnight. My little guy had his 9 month appt this morning at 8:30 and then hubby had an appt with his cardiologist this morning at 9, thankfully both are at the same clinic, just different areas of the clinic. Everything went well, both little man and hubby had to have some blood drawn :frown: Then after that, I had to take my mom to the medical foundation so they could draw blood from her and check her levels since she had heart surgery last week, she's doing great! Then we took her out to lunch and then back home.
Soon after we got home, my 6 yr old got home from school and then I turned around, got back in the car and took her to her dentist appt to get her first filling :frown: But she did an awesome job!
Finally got home and got to relax for just a little bit before having to make dinner and get hubby's things ready for work.....still need to take him to work, and then come home and bed time! Wow!
Hope everyone had a good weekend. I'm so excited, did our taxes Sunday and we will be able to move out of my inlaws!!
Take care everyone! Have a good night, not sure if I'll be back on or not.0 -
ashley, your post cracked me up! i've done the same thing--bake something "healthier" but still eat too much of it.
the best thing for me would be to not have any of the supplies in the house too--cuz this little piggie made her own smores concoction after dinner flopped.:embarassed:
(tried a new recipe w/less than stellar results)
who said abt eating cookie 1 mid morning then 2 after lunch etc....that is so me too!
so, while i did 1/2 ballet dvd this am, i otherwise slacked. so tomorrow it's back at it! tomorrow a long leslie walk is scheduled. will get up by 6am to finish it all!
welcome kc!0 -
barb, great news about moving out! what a difference that will make in your life!
and our happy news--we got the house!!! now onto the next steps--but i'm so grateful that we can get this house! boruch hashem (blessed is G-d)
g'night y'all0 -
ajweekley - Good point about the weather, I'm a bit accident prone myself. Think I might wait for March 1st cause I have a weird brain that likes to start on the first of the month or first of the week, etc. Thanks for the headsup on the podcast, I'll have to check that out. If I don't have to run and stare at my watch I could actually take one of my dogs.
Ashley - I also weigh on Tuesday and although I wasn't terrible this week I don't feel like I've lost. There was less wiggle and jiggle during my workouts the past couple days so I guess that's something.
Barb - Congrats on getting your own place, that is awesome!!We stayed with my parents while building our current house and it was a good thing they got done early, LOL. We all love eachother more now that we have our own space.
Didn't sleep well last night and of course I'm still up at almost midnight tonight. Guess I better get movin so I won't be a total bear in the morning. Hope everyone has a great evening.
Amy0 -
Thanks Stacey and Amy.
Stacey-Congrats on your house
Amy-My inlaws are actually pretty difficult, even when we're not living with them. They treat both me and my hubby like we're still 16 and we've been told, we won't make it on our own again and we'll be right back on the streets, some love and support they give us :frown: :grumble:
Not sure what is in store for today. Just waiting to find out if hubby is coming home and if so, I need to go get him......once we get our taxes too, he'll be getting a second car so no more "fighting" over the car, that will be another awesome thing, I forgot to mention. Was so excited about moving out!!
Well, off to feed the lil one. ttyl. Have a great day! And welcome all newcomers if I missed it last night.:flowerforyou:0 -
Barb, yay for moving out! Stacey, congrats on the house! Lots of big life changes around these parts, eh?
You people talking about weigh-ins reminds me that it's my weigh-in day as well. Blargh. I'm not looking forward to it. I don't feel like I've lost either. Part of me just wants to forget the "losing" business and just keep on with the "getting active and eating healthier" business. I started all of this to lose weight, but the other effects are way more important to me, so... I don't know. Maybe I'll keep weighing in, but just not worry about it.
Today I'm going to try to straighten up the bedrooms so they're as clean as the rest of the house. Also, try to make it through the day without strangling the children. It'll take a concerted effort, because they're trying really hard to push buttons. C has this lovely new habit of repeating everything we say, and they're both being as pesky as they can toward each other. I think they're stir-crazy. I wish we had an indoor playplace somewhere in town so they could get out this energy!0 -
Stacey-Congrats on getting the house, so exciting!
Barb-You're in-laws sound really..like a pain in the butt! I wish you all the best on proving them wrong that you can make it and you're not 16 anymore.
The healthy cookie idea works great for some people. To me I'd rather have the real thing whether it's cookies, or ice cream, etc. and feel like I've had a treat rather than a substitute. Really I do just have to stay away from them unless I plan on eating a lot of them!
Today will be day 2 at the new gym trying to decide about doing a class or just doing more cardio. The new machine was great yesterday. Tomorrow is my orientation on the weight machines, I am holding off on lifting until I can be properly fitted in the new machines. I am a stickler for form and doing this right or don't do them at all. Other than that my day consists of laundry, mopping the floor, picking kids up from school and taking the Financial Peace course with my husband. I've heard good things about it so hopefully it can help us get things on the right track as we are horrible budgeters.
Have a great day everyone
Holly0 -
Barb - Well, that's beyond rude and unsupportive. Sounds like a huge blessing to be getting out, I wish you guys much success. My parents were supportive but my Dad and my Hubby were at eachothers necks half the time. Drove my Mom and I crazy. They were constantly tattling on eachother and being rude, it was a bit too much "man" in one space. And...............YAHOO for the second car, that's awesome!!
Holly - I agree, I want the real thing if I have a treat. If I do a modified one it just makes me want the original even more, hahaha.
Scale did not budge AT ALL today. So sad. Measurements were good, I lost in my waist, hips and thighs but I really don't know why the scale didn't move at all. I had a couple of off days but I'm still eating a lot smarter than before I joined. Maybe working on my water intake and getting back on my vitamins will help.
Amy0 -
Hi all,
Hoping it's okay if I join in here? I am a SAHM for the last 2 1/2 years. I have a 9 y.o. daughter and a 2 1/2 year old son. I found MFP last year after I got my iPhone but really just started using it 20 days ago. I weigh in on Wednesday and my goal is to take measurements every 15 days for extra motivation. Today is day 21 (ah, Level 3) on the 30 Day Shred. I am going to do the C25K when the weather is nicer here.
As for baking, I LOVE baking but I can NOT have that stuff sitting in front of me all day so I baked something for a treat after dinner then package it all (except a small portion for my kids for the next day) and send it to work with my hubby. I usually have room in my day for a treat because I have so many calories and am eating at least 1/2 of my exercise calories back although I do try to make that healthier most days.
Excited to "meet" you all.0 -
Welcome to all newcomers! Chime in when you want to.
Holly~I got to say that the Financial Peace classes are GREAT! The hubby and I finished them at the beginning of December what a change they make but you got to be willing to do the concepts that he teaches. Good luck!
Barb~YAY on moving out and the 2nd car thing! I hate living with parents it just plain sucks but it is even worse when they are just plain mean like it sounds like you in-laws are (my mom always calls it out-laws  ).
I all of a sudden got what I like to call a "brain fart" and forgot what else I was going to say. So I will chat later.0 -
Amy ~ Good luck on the c25k! I will be starting my half marathon training in a month, but I am more than happy to help keep you accountable! I love the podcast from Suz @ kissmyblackass.org (sorry if I already mentioned it before..) if you have an iphone or ipod touch, there is an app you can download that will play right over your own music.
Welcome Kim and Binabodu!
I also had queso on Super Bowl Sunday...they just go togetherI was bad, but at least to put what I didn't eat in the freezer!
Barb ~ WOHOO!!!
Stacey ! Good job on the walking DVD!! And super congrats on the house!! Are you still in NLV? did I tell you that's where a friend of mine bought?
I punished myself with workouts yesterday, and already did one hardcore one this morning. I am trying to decide if I am going to go to a class tonight or not. Hubby has been studying for midterms and I want to get the kids out of the house, but I don't feel like going to the gymKinda want to go to chic-fil-a and let 'em run around! Haha

BTW...up 2 pounds this week! ACK!0

Thanks everyone and I wish I had a way to just let you all hear everything that goes on with my inlaws, and Katie, it really is outlaws here...lol. Just some of the other things that has bugged me, is she has told us before, she hopes we don't have money to move out, and we'll never make it, we don't know how to raise our children properly, and oh yeah, we're going to hell bc we don't go to church all the time like she does, but its ok for her to be "sick" and skip church here and there and go out to the mall and out to eat....:grumble: Anyhow, just gotta deal with it 24/7 until we move out and then it'll just be an every now and then again thing. At least my parents are supportive and only bug us when they haven't heard from us in a while. I'm glad I have friends to vent to, otherwise, all this held in, would not be good.
Welcome Kim and Binabodu!
This week will be a little crazy, hubby usually works 3rd shift and is gone all week (he's a trucker) and starting tomorrow morning, he's running mornings and will be home everyday until the boss man wants him back on nights, I guess they are overflowing on days loads and my hubby was the only one who offered to help them out, which means that's a positive mark for him
Kat-Don't feel bad about those 2 lbs, I know you can wack them off again
Does anyone have any good workout music? I'm trying to add some music to my ipod and I can't seem to find the right stuff....any ideas?
Also, for when we move out, I'd like to try some new recipes that are also good for us, any ideas on where I can find some or do you ladies have any good ones, I might try some while living here, but the mil is picking about things, ugh! Can't wait.
Good luck everyone on reaching your goals this week!0
