    GREAT :mad: today i dropped a table on my toe and ive bruised it quite badly. The nurse said I cant do any vigorous exercise apart from swimming for five days NOOOO! :frown: I miss the gym :( especially since its been about a month since ive last lsot anything. It's annoying me, as sometime I have a mid-week weigh in and last week, I weighed 126.5lbs but when it comes round to my official weigh in, ive gone up again :grumble:

    i will watch my toes. i dropped a table on mine awhile back.
    lauren...what kind of weight loss clinic? i know where you are coming from my highest was 286. didn't even bother me. then the doctor said one day after taken blood "your diabetic right?" i said no. he said "well you are now". that was june 16, 2006. funny how i remember that date. on june 17th i attended a class and the 18th began counting carbs. 45 for each meal. 15 for morning and afternoon snack and 30 for evening snack. that was all i counted and in 7 months i dropped 80+ pounds. since i than i have quit smoking (in 07), Dh has lost 2 jobs. and i found all but 37 of those lost pounds. so i feel your pain. i was thrilled to be in cute clothes for a 50 yr old woman. people told me i looked good. i felt good. it's an everyday struggle. life is what we live. it's something i have to learn to live with. struggles are going to be in my life. everyday is a struggle. i have a food addiction. my endocrinologist has suggested putting me on drugs for things i don't have, because the side effect is weight loss. not going down that road. doesn't matter anyway. i will eat even if i am not hungry. that's what i do. sorry i rambled on. speaking of stress. it's in my house right now. VERY strong and stressful around here. DH and i have hardly spoken to each other. i didn't even eat dinner tonight. i have eaten all day. doesn't matter.

    well, better go get ready for bed.

    So losing weight is what happens when you count your calories? Huh, who knew?
    Today was my second day staying within my calories. Again, I ate the bulk in the morning so was eating just fruit and veggies the rest of the day. Need to stop stress/boredom eating in the morning and spreading it out. We'll see how it goes today as I already know we are doing Chinese for dinner, so I'm conscious that I need to have a decent amount of calories for an early dinner. Here goes...

    Good morning gals!

    Sheesh...I am NOT good at staying within calories without exercise! Okay...last night was my fault (and I also blame it on TOM) but I had some dairy queen ice cream! Aaahh!! It was a small, but still...

    But really...how do you ladies stay within calories on days without exercise. My goals put my at 1200 for my calorie amount, and you all see what my diet looks like...I think pretty good...and when I exercise, I usually have EXTRA calories for the day. It makes it VERY hard during times like now when I'm injured or sick and can't exercise. Any thoughts? I guess I'm just curious as to how you all cope and maybe what your goals look like?

    Okay...toe update: still sore as heck! BUT...not nearly as black and blue as it was! There is now pinkness back in my toe! YAY!! Hoping for a fast recovery!! I'm thinking that I may try some Jillian again this weekend...slowly...omitting any jumping or balancing on my toes for anything...that means yoga is out for a while...bummer! Oh well.

    Plan for today:
    Food--
    B-Cinnamon burst cheerios, skim milk, coffee w/sugar free creamer
    S-Banana, cereal bar
    L-Turkey, 1 oz. cheese, mustard and spinach on whole wheat bagel thin, baby carrots, light yogurt
    S-D'anjou pear
    D-Leftover turkey meatloaf, side salad with spritzer dressing
    S-???

    Exercise--
    Ab work? Maybe.

    Chipper. I hope things get better for you soon... hugs!

    Kristin. My calorie goal is 1330... those extra 130 calories really help (above the 1200) - i found I could not stick with 1200, I felt tired and dizzy... and alwaysss hungry... plus I find I don't count all the exercise I really do... short lunch walks and playing with the dogs etc... so if I keep my goal between 1300 and 1400 + my counted exercise calories I tend to lose... on days I don't exercise I typically make a huge salad with lots of veggies for lunch (which is filling and low cal...). I need a big breakfast and I can never resist a late night snack :)

    *** I hope everyone's toes get better, and stay safe :happy:

    Lorna. I eat most of my calories in the AM too... :ohwell: I divided my tracker into three time periods 8 - 12, 1- 5, and 6 - 9 and I try to eat about 450 calories in each period... keeps me more focused on spreading it out over the entire day... :drinker:

    Not much weight loss this week, but I'm not upset. :-) I have a plan to keep active and eating foods that are tasty and delicious and in normal quantities.

    I'm currently looking to buy my first house in my new city and trying to enjoy my last few weeks before I start my new job/residency! I'm really excited :-D Also, I am finally forcing myself to feel the pain of my failed engagement and move on from that relationship because it's not good for me. I am trying to remember that there are other men out there and even if not, I'll be happier by myself with less stress (even tho I love him). Ok, tmi I guess.

    Well, I didn't make my goal of checking in at least once a day last week, AND I'm a day late weighing in ... BUT I LOST WEIGHT!!!!!!! :bigsmile: :bigsmile: :bigsmile: :bigsmile: :bigsmile:

    I'm also going to do my first 5k this Saturday. I'm not up to running that much yet, so I'll end up walking most of it. But I'm going to do it! The whole family is getting involved. My hubby is going to run in the 5k too, and the kids will do the 1 mile kids fun run. My parents will be there to be with the kids during the 5k.

    Chipper you dont sound happy at all hun. i really hope things pick up for you and i'm sending some calm (non-stressful) love your way. everyone deserves a break and i really hope you get one soon hun. But in the meantime, keep checking in with us, we're all here to support you...... stress or no stress, you have friends here.

    well my non-scales time is going ok, i think last week i jsut went off theboil but i'mback on a feeling positive this week. I'm exercising and started running again yesterday which was great! going again tomorrow and again at the weekend. the weather is beautigul here at the moment so i am really lookingforward to getting out and about a lot!

    my friend has lent me Tracy Andersons 30 Day Method. has anyone tried it? i've read the book and i'm really not convinced. i havent done any of the mat exercises or the cardio yet though so it may be a lot harder than it looks in the book!

    Cathy, I am so sorry to hear about you and DH. I have been there, oh wait actually this weekend. Not knowing the story, I just don't think that guys don't understand us women. WE are more detailed oreinted people and they typically get through life by just scratching the surface. Keep your head up high and go about your business! Like Clare said, we are here for you!

    As far as the weight loss clinic, I am going today. They do b-12 shots and some sort of pill. I will find out more details though later, I will keep you posted. I am a weirded out about taking any kind of pills, because who know what kind of side effects it has, and then what if you just gain the weight back when you go off of them. Has anyone here ever taking any diet pills with a b12 shot combo?

    And you ladies with your toes! I took Maddy to softball last night and found out that 1 of the girls might have broken her arm and another her foot. This is going to be a long season!

    i really don't want to go into details, cause of my daughter being on here. she doesn't need to know. she knows we are fighting. today is the most we have talked to each other in days. we actually went to the store together tonight. it will pass. i did some long thinking this morning. my dad had left when i was 13. walked out on Christmas morning. so when DH and i fight i find myself wanting to leave and be on my own. well this morning i realized i might think this, because than the man in my life doesn't walk out on me again. it makes sense to me. i also realized a few other things too.

    well, need to finish dinner.

    Awe hon...I can feel your pain!! Mine is all sorts of fun colors also!! So we will be anticipating recovery together!!

    Same :laugh: mines my big toe and its purple, pink, red and blue and swollen up like a balloon! The nurse was puzzled how I managed to only bruise one toe but not manage to break it! I've had to try and keep it elevated during sixth form which was difficult lol. I hope we both recover asap! :flowerforyou:

    Cathy - Sorry to hear about the stresses. But taking the time to sit and think through things will help you not make rash decisions. You are a very strong woman. You can figure this out, even taking some moments to breath and self-reflecting.

    Confirmed son's broken knuckle yesterday so he got a "cool" splint.

    Went over on my calories yesterday BUT I'm not defeated. Didn't let it deflate me and go WAY OVER. Went over by 460, but it could have been a lot worse. So new day, re-newing resolve.

    Wow...I must say I am doing HORRIBLY so far this week. Thank you TOM, broken toe, and easter candy! AAAhhh!!! Oh well.

    B-Honey Nut Chex, skim milk, coffee w/sugarfree creamer
    S-Banana, Kashi bar
    L-Salad (mixed greens, spinach, baby tomatoes, spritzer dressing, boiled egg, light yogurt

    D-??? I hate when I don't have anything planned. Maybe I'll make some pancakes or toasted sandwiches.
