Home from the road!! My house is like a big hotel room tonight because my oldest daughter is working, my middle girl is out with friends, and my wife is out shopping with the munchkin...time to catch up on some NetFlix! I am SO GLAD I got my Kenpo-X on early this morning. I love the freedom on a Friday night. The weather is great and I might just smoke a cigar on the patio tonight (no comments, please, it is my last real remaining vice and it will take a while to unhitch THAT pony...it's on the list).

Legs, Back, and ARX for Saturday and then sweet recovery week awaits me! I plan on upping my weights tomorrow to go out with a bang and will be attempting some unassisted pullups *fingers crossed*.

Everybody, enjoy your weekend...it looks like I will get an additonal cardio burn tomorrow after mowing my lawn for the first time this spring...the damn grass really sprouted while I was out of town.

Legs and back tonight. My knees are ripped today :( not good. But I modified and did my best and forgot the rest :)
    Have a wonderful night all!

Didn't to work out tonight. I'm really disappointed because I love Kenpo. Plan on bringing it tomorrow!

Hopefully, you will get it in on a rest day...I loathe missing a workout, but will swap around stuff to meet the schedule. At least you are not doing back to back resistance days.
Got my kenpo in last night and am getting ready for core syn now. I know it's "ok" to not workout every day but I'm an all or nothing kinda girl  Probably boardline obessive, lol

Have a great weekend and thanks for the encouragement!

    Happy Saturday everyone.

Yesterday I DID find time to kick off week 6. AND I got in a 4k. All after 7:30pm lol... Oh the things a girl will do sometimes eh? But I HAD to get plyo in today, because it's a friends birthday tonight and I knew there was no way I would be able to do Plyo after a night out. So i pressed play and I am glad I did.

Becca - well done on getting Kenpo in!

MAK - how did legs & back go? Gotta go easy on those knees if they're sore :)

Bob - I hope you enjoyed your night at home, but imagine it wasn't the evening at home you anticipated. Good luck on tacking that out of control lawn - mine is still buried in lots of snow :)

I have not checked in for a day or two - but still on track - today is day 35 (not a rest day - I swapped it on THursday) - Today is Kenpo X ! Legs and Back and ARX - it was great, felt very strong on most of hte moves (don't count the balance lunges where I still keep falling over) and I did great on the wall squats - Did really well on ARX - but still need improvement!

Howdy, all! Got Legs and Back and ARX in about 1/2 hour ago...I upped my weights to 15s and increased my reps on pullups and chinups...did a handful unassisted on chin ups and closed grip pull ups but relied on the chair for the majority. I am really bummed. This is one of my favorite workouts and it takes a powder in Phase 3. I won't see this workout again until I start doing Classic in June...what is up with that?!? No leg work in the last 5 weeks of P90X...where is the method to THAT madness?

I am now officially into recovery week for Phase 2. I enjoyed recovery week last phase because I fet SO strong at the end of the week. I believe I WILL stretch tomorrow. I really brought it today and after discounting the burn by 33% (I always do that for weight training routines)...I still show a burn of over 930 calories. I am beat.

For Seinfeld fans, I call this the "sack of oranges" workout, because I always feel like someone beat me with a sack of oranges when I am finished from shoulders to ankles. It's a good beating, though...LOL.

Enjoy your weekend, all! Back on the road tomorrow...

Can someon tell me a little bit about Core Syn (difficulty, type of moves etc).
I am working on my recovery week schedule, but I have to modify because 1 week from today is my next half marathon... trying to figure out what I should do this week. I dont wanna do nothing... but I dont wanna hurt too much for the race either?

today was supposed to be strechX during recovery week phase 1 but i decided to do cardio X instead. i must admit it's a good workout but i was kind of disappointed as it does not have anything new. it's just bits and pieces of other workouts put together.

It's mostly core work, but it has an element of cardio in it as well. The exercises are designed to work mutliple muscle groups at the same time and about half of the exercises utilize relatively light weights. I typically feel this workout pretty much from shoulders to kneecaps. There is a bonus round at the end that you can elect to skip. There are some push up moves, Dreya Rolls, superman-banana, steam engine, run squats. This workout is probably the most encompassing in terms of hitting all major muscle groups and adding an element of cardio. It's one of my favorite workouts...FYI, you will be gassed towards the end.

Whew! Got my Plyo in today and I am SORE SORE SORE!! Worked hard yesterday with chest shoulders and triceps and its difficult to lift my arms above shoulder height  Man! This program is wonderful, awful, motivating, challenging, and time consuming hahaha!! I am determined to complete it though!!

I had the worst run of my life today -- temperatures popped up to 75 degrees today (was 30 last week) with high humidity.
Got cramped down bad at mile 9 ... managed 10 total, but thats all I could do.
Half marathon is Saturday, so I am doing a modified recovery week to prepare...

    Monday: Kenpo X
    Tuesday: Yoga X
    Wednesday 4 mile run
    Thursday Yoga X or Kenpo
    Friday REST
    Saturday: RACE DAY!!
Sunday: either Yoga X .... or Core Syn ...

I may not be following the plan to the letter -- but some is better than none, right?
  • Hey I was just wondering, Everyone here actually bought P90X. if so was it really worth the buy?

Totally missed the alarm this morning, and woke up 20 minutes late. Chest/Shoulders/Triceps will have to wait until this evening. I feel so much better when I get my workout done in the morning, but hopefully hubby will help out with the boys tonight, so I can do it.

@Kelnurse: I LOVE Plyo! The intensity of it is beyond any of the other workouts, and even though it kills you, you want to do it again! I totally agree on the love/hate relationship, staying motivated, and wanting to complete the program. You're totally rockin' it!

In the last 2 weeks I've had wrist, neck and knee pains, but I believe I am finally ready to jump up to Phase 2!! I did a modified Phase 1 last week just to test the wrist (everything but chest/back and yoga). Slightly sore afterwards, but nothing serious. I haven't done a pushup in 2 weeks so hopefully that goes well. I have handles to use. Plyo is wreaking havoc on my knee so I'm not jumping as much. Means I don't get as much of a calorie burn, but I can live with that. All in all I will only be one week behind schedule and still finish before we leave for vacation on June 5th.
Today is Chest Shoulders and Triceps. I am super excited about the triceps part :) I even bought 8lb weights over the weekend so I have more options. Couldn't find 12lbs though which is what I really need. My husband is out of town this week and I have to say that I get much better workouts in when he is gone. I don't feel rushed to free up the basement or have dinner at a certain time. But I am glad he is doing the X also so I shouldn't complain.
Hope everyone has a great week. It's good to be back!!

I'm doing CST & ARX tonight too... What do you think of it? I am in my 3rd week of phase 2 and I am really glad I won't have to do this workout again until week 10, lol. (Probably my least favorite with all the push ups.)

This is my workout tonight too... I've only done it once before, but it was tough for me. Some of the pushup moved were a joke for me to even attempt. I'm hoping it gets better, but definitely not one of my favorites.

Jenna & Becca: Yeah, it's not my fav either, with all the weird push ups, I feel like I'm starting all over again! lol But, I do my best and most of them are done on my knees, as long as I feel it! Have a good workout! I'll be in WOWY in about an hour if you'd like to join me!

I am still here - on day 37 - subbed zumba for the cardio (not even sure if it was cardio x or kenpo) - I missed day 36 - but I was outside from 0930 until 1730, doing yard work, etc - so I am pretty sure, I still got a fairly good workout in - just not the same as Core though...I thought about doubling up...but nah! Tomorrow is Chest, Shoulders and Triceps - I like this one a lot!

Short post tonight, gang. I am tired from a long day. Subbed/swapped Core Syn in for Yoga-X tonight. I had dinner with a client and that 1 1/2 hour workout was not going to work. I have firm plans to get my twisting half moon on tomorrow and the rest of my recovery week will be as scheduled. Looking forward to Phase 3, but will stop and smell the roses this week. I am glad I only had to take one set of weights (I use 10s for all Core Syn exercises with weights).

I am bummed because I will need to buy a different door frame mount pull up bar because the one I have doesn't fit the wide door frame in my hotel and there are no extensions...$50 bucks pissed away. Oh well...

4:00am comes early, so I am hitting the hay and dreaming of Dreya Rolls.

Hey gang! Finished CST & ARX and got through all the moves on ARX! Woo hoo! I'll be feeling that tomorrow! Also upped my reps and did much better on CST than last week, a good workout overall.

Bob: Have you seen the Iron Gym pull up bar? Doesn't require any installation and it's not as expensive. Sounds like it might be too late for that though. Wow! 4am! Nighty night!

Keep at it everyone! Tomorrow is plyo for me and I think I might add in some Brazil Butt Lift while I'm at it! Have a great night!
