Thanks! I think part of the reason I was having problems yesterday is because I didn't do a thorough warmup. I did one today and it felt a lot better. I'm really excited at the thought of running 4 miles! I want to be a marathon runner already haha

We all started out running 1, 2, then 3, then 4 and then on to longer runs - you'll get there! Build up to it slowly; it is an awesome feeling with each milestone you hit!! :D

I had to take it easy today, and prove to myself, that, yes, I have an injury and need to maybe take a few days off from running.

I also think it's time for new shoes.

Anyway, a slow 3 miles today.

    October 1, 4.26 miles, 00:43:29
October 3, 2.15 miles, unsure of time
    October 4, 8.50 miles, 01:37:03
    October 7, 3.50 miles, 00:36:10
    October 8, 4.01 miles, 00:41:10
    October 9, 3.26 miles, 00:37:06
    October 11, 9.01 miles, 01:35:08
    October 12, 2.31 miles, 00:31:18
    October 14, 3.00 miles, 00:35:46

    Total: 40.00 miles

I love 3mile/ 5k runs now, 3 months ago they seemed such a long distance, they are now light little jaunts. it's addictive

14 Oct - 5 mile with hill intervals, this morning 3 miles easy, finally got a very low average heart rate 124 which is 70% of max for me. Runs are now done in the dark and wet, but I feel like a proper runner as I now want to go out regardless of the weather.

    Have fun.

2 days running left for me this month before having a 2 week break.

Shana's right! 2 years ago I couldn't have run 1 mile if my life depended on it. I did exactly what you've been doing & ran just a little bit farther every time. There will always be more miles to run & seconds to shave off of your best times. Enjoy the journey!

Nice Heart Rate! I love 3-6 mile runs too, but hill sprints get me every time- doesn't stop me from toughing it out though!

Yuck! Hope your injury's not severe & that new shoes fix the problem. I start getting blisters when my shoes are going but I have a buddy who gets shin splints & another friend who'll get knee troubles. Good shoes are vital to the runner aren't they?!?
Rest, Recuperate & come back strong!

My normal daily runs are 3-5 miles depending on how much time I have. I wish I had hills nearby to train on but the closest I have are freeway overpasses. The hills get me every time in races. Also I love to run in the rain, it just doesn't happen very often here these days!
