Weather has been great in Florida, been so lucky. Usually still very hot in Oct.

October 2 - rode 6.5 miles for a duration of 00:35.48 (mountain bike)
October 6 - rode 12.9 miles for a duration of 1:04:35 (mountain bike race simulation)
October 7 - rode 26.7 miles for a duration of 1:35:27 (road bike)
October 9 - rode 11.3 miles for a duration of 00:45:02 (XC race warm-up practice)
October 11 - rode 17.4 miles for a duration of 1:25:36 (two laps of XC mountain bike practice)
October 12 - rode 19.3 miles for a duration of 1:04:51 (mountain bike race simulation)
October 14 - rode 14.8 miles for a duration of 1:00:42 (road bike taper rep intervals)
October 16 - rode 14.4 miles for a duration of 1:00:01 (tech skills, and intervals)
October 17 - rode 9.85 miles for a duration of 00:45:47 (XC race warm-up practice)
October 18 - rode 6.65 miles for a duration of 00:44:55 (pre-ride)
October 19 - rode 15.4 miles for a duration of 1:28:43 (XC Race)
October Total = 155.2 miles/11:31:27 hours
*I have no cycling goals for October in terms of miles, and hours. I will race in two mountain bike races on my schedule to finish out the 2014 racing season. At this point, I can't gain any more fitness for October, so I'm just trying to maintain what is left from the previous 10 months of training enough to do races on the 19th and the 25th. Then it's time for fall riding, and weight-lifting season.

10/11 - 29 miles @16mph with 950' climbing --- Daytime high of 52 degrees!
10/13 - 33 miles @17.5mph with 1,300' climbing ---- on my 29lb touring bike!
10/18 - 33 miles @18.6mph with 1,000' climbing -- First ride on my new bike. Not as fast going down hills but about 3 or 4 mph faster going up hills! Matched all my old PR's with out trying (a couple seconds behind with only 90% effort). The 1 new PR I tried for I upped my average speed from 13.7 to 17.4 and moved from 181/375 to 25/375 overall!
10/19 - 21 miles @ 15.2 with 1,300 feet of climbing -- New bike test on hills; got a couple more PR's even though it was a windy fall day blowing 15-20mph
MTD: 116 miles and 4,550' climbing
Goal: >140 miles and >5,833' climbing.
My monthly goal is also my yearly goal which is to bike 2,000 miles and climb 100,000 feet - I started October at 1,860 miles and 94,167'0 -

My cycling consists almost exclusively of commuting. 13.4 miles today, both ways. The goal is five days per week. I did 19 straight days last month and the beginning of this month - worked two weekends in a row. I was gassed!0

10/23/2014 THU, Back at Fiesta Island for another 21 mile "time trial". Put in gear and go non stop for 5 laps. Garmin stopped working for a bit, so I am staying with the same numbers a Tuesday 20.72 miles, 1:12:28 (17.2 MPH)...... Back on Saturday.

After correcting my MTD and wrapping up a 30.9 mile ride today, my MTD is now 170.34.

I was in Europe through the 9th of October; on the 7th I pulled a muscle in my back on the cobbles of Rome.
Thus I've only done two rides so far this month:
