Small victories...what are yours?

had to dig out my jogging outfits from last winter recently due to the cold snap that came earlier than expected down here in Georgia. when I went to put on one of the outfits, I was super shocked to see how huge and baggy it was on me!!! It thrilled me so much Hubby says he wants to buy me a few new ones, but I said no for now because this is the first time in more than 15 years that I've been able to wear something that's baggy! It's feels pretty darn good and I wanna savor it for a while still
I completely know what you mean! The whole clothing aspect of this journey is amazing. It feels so good when clothes that were tight on you are baggy. It's almost like you can't believe it! Recently, I was able to take my work pants off and on without unzipping or unbuttoning them. It was such an amazing feeling. Good luck on your journey!0 -
Feeling like I'm in the Normal Club. For example, going out w/ friends and knowing I will be comfy in the tightest spot in the car or restaurant. If I get something on my shirt and a friend says "Oh you can borrow one of mine" I can actually accept and be comfy in their shirt.0

Yesterday, we went to IHOP for lunch and instead of the stuffed french toast, hot chocolate, hash browns, eggs, and sausage I usually get, I had the Simple and Fit veggie omelet with a fruit cup and hot chocolate. I didn't even get to finish because I was stuffed!
Then, last night, I had a single fun size pack of M&Ms instead of all of my kids' halloween candy0 -
I stopped to try a sample of froyo (even though I swear it's like... 40 degrees out) and I was able to assess and realize that I didn't actually want to eat it. That the reason that I was considering was a) habit and b) emotional.
And then I walked away.
(also don't know if this is a victory or not, but a lot of my clothes look really bad on me now... baggy)0 -
I had a small victory yesterday. I went to the cafe at work with the intention of buying crappy fried food, look at it, and decided it was not worth it and went back to my desk empty handed.
This morning I did a group workout run by a trainer. This is way out of my comfort zone (runner and lone exerciser by nature). I went, met a few new people, did the entire workout and now I feel great!0 -
- Went to Mexican restaurant and left half the food on my plate
- Climbed 4 flights of stairs without much effort
- Only slightly sore the day after: running around the house after a field mouse, moving fridge out twice + stove out once, moving couch + chair all around the living room, and (on a totally unrelated note) trying my first plank & first real push-up

We have a birthday cake each month for the employees here at work. I could not believe I was actually able to slice the cake for everyone...see it...smell it...and resist.

- Anyway, a swim coach there was giving private lessons, and she watched me and asked what team I was swimming for. I could not believe my ears!! Made my day

Yesterday one of my volunteers (I'm a volunteer manager) told me I'm starting to look like a whole different person, and today I had an awesome workout, even though I didn't want to go at first, I'm glad that I made it there0

A few days ago was the two year anniversary of my dog's passing. I got a little emotional and started to think about comforting foods. I didn't give in, though. Instead, I took her collar out, put it in my coat pocket, and took a walk. Instead of burying my feelings, I faced them, and surprisingly, I felt very much at peace.0

I am going to contribute right now. I was offered left-over pizza at work when I first got on shift. I denied.
2 hours later, I pulled out my apple. Ate it, and it was delicious and sweet and awesome. After I finished, I was then offered pizza again. DENIED! Totally not worth the calories in this case, plus I already pre-logged my apple.0 -

My small victory was putting my shoes on and going for a walk/run - it was only 15 minutes, and I could only run for one minute at a time, with a minute walking in between, and with a warm up/cool down but I did run 4 minutes in total. It's a victory because I kind of gave up after an injury and hoped for over a month that it would get better, but after 3 visits to the physio, it's much better....and I'm back to the start with running and fitness.

My small victory for the day is that I hate half the portion of carbs for breakfast today compared what I usually do.0

My small victory is that my husband and I went out last night to a small mall that has MY FAVORITE cookie/brownie place ever, and I walked right by it without a hitch! After "getting back on the wagon" about three weeks ago, it's starting to be easier to say no rather than hide from temptation!0

Finally investiting in a heavy duty scale and realising you have dropped 175kg to 153kg since the start of the year. Running 5kms twice a week easily 70kg heavier than your mates and releasing you are a MACHINE. feeling muscle definition forming and realising you are an Adonis under all that fat.0

Finished my second week of my boot camp exercise class. Last night I walked 3 miles and never even got winded.0

Maybe not that small , but trying on some old scrub pants and they being actually baggy! It is like having 5 new pair of comfortable scrubs.

I worked at my church's fall festival on Halloween and handed out a total of THREE 5-gallon buckets of candy. I didn't even eat one the entire night! I also just made it through my first "time of the month" without giving in to any cravings-- and actually lost a couple pounds. Small victories are the best!0

On Friday at work I sat in front of freshly baked apple crisp and ice cream and resisted while everyone around me had some. It felt great to have the willpower to say no to food I didn't want! This is coming from someone who never turns down delicious food. Even if I'm not hungry, I usually eat it.0

I ate half of my delicious pizza I made for dinner yesterday. I usually eat it all but I knew I didn't need it after a day of lounging around the house. I just packed it away and moved on with the day!0

I was organizing my closet space, dividing clothes that fit and some that are getting to loose.
Found a pair of jeans that my daughter gave me 5-6 years ago that were always too small to get into. (I never told her) I tried them on and by golly they fit now. I'm going to wear them to her house for supper.
That's what I call Progress (;0 -
Today I ran 4+ miles for the first time since suffering a very bad lower back strain in August. Also, for the first time in FOREVER, I managed to do some type of work out 5 out of 7 day this week!0

I bought new bras over the weekend that are smaller than what I was wearing. I can also comfortably wear a pair of pants that I couldn't even button about a year ago.0

Love this post, I've been thinking about it as I've been reading all these other amazing "small victories" and I realize that I actually have quite a few of my own recent ones.
I've lost 1kg in the past week after not losing any for ages.
I have been able to start weight training for the first time since March when I did a lot of damage to one of my lower lumbar, and even though the weights aren't that heavy it still feels amazing
and whist in the supermarket today I realized that I can always look at the tasty pastries without even considering buying one.0 -
Being able to feel bones/muscles that weren't there before. When I flex my calves or biceps, I can see a bulge where there was only fat.0

Going from drinking 2 litres of coke a day to now drinking 2 litres of water a day...and not even liking the taste of coke anymore!!0
