Join me in 3 day cleanse?

Options
Hi guys,
from tomorrow I am going to start a detox week.

Monday - Wednesday I will eat very light. No coffee. No refined sugars. Will eat mostly hoummous and drink juices.

Wednesday (from morning) - Saturday (morning) I will drink only water.

I will perform light exercise such as Yoga during the water cleanse.

Saturday + Sunday I will drink only juices.

So let me know if you want to join and come up with suggestions, we can support each other troughout the week !

The reason that I want to do this is because I dont have control over my diet and I crave too much sugar. I need to get back to my healthy ways!

good luck. there is nothing wrong with a short 3 day break from your normal diet. it may or may not do anything significant. Just be warned that many here will blast you for even thinking about it and especially for mentioning it. Drink a lot of water.

Did you even read their planned intake for the week or were you too busy rushing in to support an illogical plan that isn't supported by science?

yes I did. The truth is that something like 97% of people doing this type of drastic "cleanse" will give up or significantly alter the regimen within the first 24 hours.

That's ALL OP is gonna be doing Days 4-6.

OP, I love my body too much to treat it so poorly.

I get you perfectly : Started Gm diet , basically fresh unprocessed fruit and veggies and over 2 lt of water, as soon as I asked if anyone's tried it , people freaked , not even hearing that I am modifying it to fit me, I started eating veggies I never have , drinking a lot of water which I usually have trouble at, and feeling great in general.

So to get over your sugar cravings you're going to basically have nothing but juice which is sugar! Yeah good luck with that

The thread says 3 day cleanse.

The post outlines a nearly liquid-only diet for 7 days.

I'm no expert, but a cleanse shouldn't me 'stop everything!'.

For those who might not actually go read that very good thread by SideSteel...

With the rapid increase of new users there are many posts coming up asking for detox recommendations. I figured this would be a good time to provide some links explaining why you generally don't need to detox or cleanse.

Your body is readily equipped to handle toxins and in the event it cannot, you're in far greater need of medical attention than you are of any particular beverage or liquid diet.

For purposes of weight loss, you're essentially choosing to replace food with liquid calories (depending on the cleanse, but most fall under this category) resulting in what usually amounts to a VLCD. This isn't typically a good idea for a variety of reasons (mood, hunger signaling, skeletal muscle maintenance, performance) and moreover it represents yet another short-cut attempt rather than establishing proper habits.

The intent of my post isn't to insult anyone who comes here with the misinformed belief that they should detox/cleanse. The purpose is to provide information to hopefully save someone the wasted time, money, and potential ill health effects, not to mention the likely weight regain.

Are you the OP? I believe a lot of things are being directed at the OP, not you.
