    1/15:

    Loss/gain this week: -2.6 pounds
Loss/gain for the month: -2.6 pounds
Struggles or successes this week: Planning my meals and snacks for work hours was very successful! I left nearly 400 calories in my day for "incidentals" and didn't go over my 1600 calorie goal. Struggle: I overdid the exercise earlier this week and aggravated shin splints. Took three days off and I'm hoping they'll settle down.

Struggles or successes of your week: I have been struggling with going to the gym. It has been so cold here (below freezing everyday for most of the last two weeks and below zero for half of that). My gym is a good ten minute walk from the parking lot, which is great during the summer, but I hate the cold so much that it prevents me from making that walk during days like these. It's supposed to warm up over the next week so hopefully I won't be having this struggle in the near future.

Struggles or successes of your week: I did start working out again, but I am having difficulty not going for second helpings after dinner. Sometimes, it just tastes so good, I want the experience to keep on going!! Plus, I have to slow down when I eat. I've seriously gotten into a bad habit of scarfing down my food.

Struggles or successes of your week: I went to the gym Sat, Mon, and Tues. I was disappointed that the weather didn't allow me to go last night but I plan on going after work. I have been utilizing my heart rate monitor and tracking/weighing everything I eat. I was doing so great until I binge ate peanut butter out of the jar last night. Hopefully that won't hinder my progress to much...at least I didn't go get taco bell like I REALLY wanted to! :)

Low calories has been making it hard to sleep which is a plus and a minus  considering I can get more done in a day but ends up catching up to me. My goal is to get to the gym at least every other day. I've started the couch-to-5K program so I am finishing up Week 1.

Struggles or successes of your week: I exercised twice a day on weekdays (disclaimer: I DID skip lifting last night) but I'm also hormonal and if you look at my diary, chocolate OWNED me a few times this week! I realize the weight loss is 3 lbs and I'm only looking to get down 5 lbs but I feel the majority of the weight at the beginning of this was just from a few days of eating crap and I've leveled out. This is about where I have been hovering the last few weeks. We'll see if I can keep moving the scale down.

Good luck all! See ya next week!

PS: Since this thread may be hard to find, someone has graciously (and wisely) started a group titled "January 2015 weightloss challenge Super Group"

I had a lot of successes this week, namely my goal to drink a smoothie everyday as a replacement meal (which is tough because it’s so cold outside)! Doing this has kept my sodium intake a lot lower.

I’m nervous this week because tonight I’m going to dinner with my family, and next Tuesday is my birthday, so I won’t be counting calories that day. I’m going to try to stick with it every other day as closely as possible and get a good workout in today.

Struggles or successes of your week: Feeling pretty disappointed despite the decent loss- I finally broke into the 120s early in the week and was feeling amazing, but then jumped back into the 130s though I ate at my goal each day, and it never came back down :( I'm thinking hormones and retaining water, and I'm feeling overly bloated too, but either way it's a bummer! At least I should most definitely see the 120s for good this week...

I have been attempting to drink at least 90 ozs of water a day, but if I can't keep my sodium in check, it is not going to make a difference. Here is to a better week! One of my newest MFP friends wrote a quote for me that I really like! "A setback is a set up for a comeback".
