I'd say inverted triangle.
My wife is also inverted triangle. If you want to increase the waist-hip ratio, corset training is great so long as you don't go extreme and damage internal organs. my wife does corset training.
weight gain is natural & easy, but you can't control exactly where the weight will go on.0 -
I'm genuinely not trying to be a jerk but, why do you care?
What is knowing your "shape" according to an arbitrary, FRUIT-BASED description going to help with? What are you trying to achieve with this knowledge? This whole thread is super odd and confusing to me.0 -
Are women's clothes labeled as "banana", "apple", "hourglass" etc.? Your shape is an hourglass. If clothes aren't fitting you correctly, they you may have to get altering done. I get my shirts altered (dress shirts) all the time because the waist is way too wide.

I totally have a problem with this. Every shirt I wear fits me well in the bust but not in the waist. I'm short so it goes pass the top of my hips and it looks like my stomach is bigger with tiny legs it's annoying.
How do you get them altered?

My weight tends to go to my hips. But mainly my top hips. I don't think I can get much lower waist size since it's 22" currently.0 -
Top-heavy hourglass. Inverted triangle shapes don't have the waist/hip ratio you do. I don't know why you're asking, but if it is because you wonder about what clothing would flatter, go with the suggestions made for hourglass figures.
Definitely not a banana figure, aka rectangle. That is where the waist is not much smaller than the hip/bust measurement.
And pear shapes have small busts.
Hourglass figures tend to gain weight all over, perhaps more on the lower half than the top, but not as much as pear shapes tend to do.0 -
You're a classic "8" or "violin" shape, but thin. Main characteristics: high hips, and tends to gain fat around lower belly. Basically, a violin is an hourglass with high hips.0

Do women really spend this much fekking time trying to figure out their body shape?0

I sometimes how bananas dress and hourglasses dress it seems one in the same. That's why I had a hard time telling the difference but you make a good point being my waist is defined thank you.0 -
You're really tiny. Really, a 22 inch waist?
Yes, you're a top-heavy hourglass. An hourglass is a waist around 10 inches smaller than your hips. That's what I have, but slightly different totals. ;-) I love my hips - I look dynamite when I Salsa.0 -

I think I don't feel so endowed in my hip region simply because they're high plus I'm african American so I'm smaller than most women.0 -

Also my waist is 22" but I have smaller hips that make my waist look less small.0

What is the actual point of this. Seems like you just wanted to post some photos up of yourself and have people comment on them.
Well you achieved that..
Anyway, you could do with some heavy weight lifting 3-4 times a week

My measurements are 36-22-33 bust-waist-hips dimension or 34-22-33 shoulder-waist-hip dimensions. I have always gotten that I'm an hourglass with most body shape calculators though either way. I know I'd be a neat hourglass as oppose to full because I'm petit. I also have a balanced body shape. I think I have high hips because my lower "curves" are from the top of my hips and pretty banana like. I look boxy in most clothing because it doesn't cynch in the right area. So what body shape am I?
didn't we already answer this question for you last year? like, 4 or 5 times?
You just signed up today and you've made 40 posts?...Something seems fishy here.0 -
Hourglass tend to gain on legs first. Which makes sense considering the stereotype of the image. It is characterized by wide shoulders small stomach and wide hips. One of the most idealized figures probably because of the even proportions. Good health wise as gaining weight stomach first isn't the healthiest option.
I've got hourglass and have learned the easy weight gain and loss of that. You could be pear but you seem most like hourglass.
You are well proportioned, beautiful and healthy and honestly that is what matters most.0 -

Some do, apparently. I personally think it's a bit pointless and ridiculous. Arbitrary labels/definitions are arbitrary.
My body shape is potato. Female potato.
I find it really helpful for clothes shopping to know my shape. It's not like some label that makes one be a part of some club or anything. It just helpful for, you know, things like jeans and dress shopping, avoiding looking frumpy by not picking styles that are better suited for women of other body types.
So, no, not pointless or ridiculous or arbitrary.

My theory is that the whole banana, pear, apple, etc. crap doesn't exist. My measurements indicate I'm a pear shape but pears are also supposed to gain in their butts, hips and thighs more easily. I don't I gain on my tummy and arms most. So it's a lot of quack.
I don't see why your bone structure and typical weight gain patterns would have much to do with each other.
I've, honestly, always seen it as just another thing magazines do to tell us what to wear. My measurements never really matched up to any of them. So, where do I fall?0 -

Not all women. Although, magazines would have you thinking so.0 -

I actually have a high muscle mass that's why my body fat is so low.
Not really if I wanted to do that I'd also show before pics.0
