Unexpected results of weight loss

Lack of thigh rub was a huge one for me. I actually like wearing dresses now. LOL!
Another is how much I'm freezing all the darn time.
And how much I love physical exercise
And how incredibly grumpy I get if I don't get my exercise in.
And for the TMI - I have endometriosis. The pain during my periods was insane, but now that I'm normal weight, the pain is gone.
Snap snap snap. If only the doctors would really strictly say "lose weight and we won't need to be seeing you", rather than skirting round the issue as they do. However I blame no one but myself for the state I got in. It's fabulous to read another endo sufferer is managing it with weight
After the first 25 pounds of my 75 pound journey, my doctor called me "low-hanging fruit", then explained that I was doing all the right things for my health and not to come back for a year! Low-hanging fruit is what the docs call the patients who don't need follow-up.15 -

I pulled out an (old) pair of control top tights this morning to wear under a dress to work. A: I had no need ta all of the control top. B: My size is so dramatically different from the last time I wore them that the tops are bunched up at the top of my things and the crotch keeps slipping down. I'm just like when I was a little kid, constantly tugging these things up.
Going out at lunch for new ones!! YAY!!14 -

and the bottom of my spine when i try and sit in the bath.

Love this thread. Looking forward to some of my own.
A quick one, with just around 10 pounds lost so far. Being able to wear a button up shirt again and not having the buttons coming undone every time I sit down.42 -
Two things: I can get up easily & quickly from a chair because my big tummy has shrunk! I noticed some slack in my seat belt when I buckled up for my plane ride at Christmas! Nice.6

Loose skin everywhere. My upper arms have wings; my thighs jiggle like jolly bowls of jell-o. Reaching back and rubbing my own back, I now massage muscles under folds of surplus skin. I won't talk about the flabby tummy. It tucks in.
No medications! None! Nada!
No heel spurs. Bursitis in my knee fading.
Running up the stairs.
I have a skinny face with a stringy goose neck looking back at me in the mirror.
News yesterday, my nearsightedness has improved. Improved! Need new glasses. Now how is that possible? I am literally reversing my age.

*Being able to zip high boots up right to the top because my calves fit in them!!!
*I never recognize myself in reflections of store windows or mirrors and so I'm always caught off guard like there was someone standing close to me and I didn't realize. I always look around startled before realizing THAT'S ME!!!!!26 -

Ok here's a weird one - I sleep in default on my belly - when it was bigger I think it kept my spine in better alignment because now I get low back pain when I wake up! Maybe I need a pillow under me now or just to learn to sleep on my side/back!

Love this thread! I think one of the best unexpected results has been that my confidence/physical health now enables me to do all these things I've always wanted to do... like charity runs or going to carnivals where the dress code is "as few clothes as humanly possible" or meeting friends on the beach and actually taking off my shirt!
Also I had the opposite problem of @kimkakes28... all this time I thought I had big boobs because of my extra weight, turns out I just have big boobs... cue my mother now constantly telling me that I'm too skinny for my boobs

I love this!! haha
One of my favorite unexpected things about weight loss is feeling so much more comfortable dancing (99% of the time in a very silly manner) and clowning around, physical comedy type stuff. I have always been a hyper and hammy type but it used to be mostly just through facial expressions and hand gestures. Getting to a comfortable weight has made me a real clown and dancy-pants type of person which I didn't even know that I wanted to be, for years and years I was more restrained due to my size (not literally...but due to feeling very self conscious).

There are so many!! The collar bones and arm pit thing threw me off!! My breasts are small but more perky, pregnancy and breastfeeding and age had them sagging, now they stand to attention without a bra. My knees and hips are bony, my thighs no longer rub together and the best one is I'm no longer in double digit clothing size. I wanted to cry when I fit into a size eight. I also agree with the people who said they are colder. Without the extra insulation, I'm always bundling up now.11

Oh and sex. It's just so much more enjoyable now - to be so much closer (physically) to my husband makes it so much more intimate and amazing.31

When I look downwards, I see my bustline, then my toes, no more tummy blocking the view to my toes, LOVE IT when that happens.
Also the rings sliding off the skinny fingers and I once stepped right out of my favorite pair of preweight loss shoes because my feet were so much smaller.

I like being in pictures again, rather than just taking them. I became a runner, too!? I'm 6' 5" so while seats at the hockey rink are never going to be great for me, I don't feel like I'm overflowing into the seats on either side of me now.
Oh - and no more snoring!15 -
Oh lets see, after a 164 pound loss (so far, another 66 to goal)
- I have collar bones!
- I am cold all the time even in summer
- My shoes are now all too wide
- I can cross my legs
- My bust line looks like a bust line rather than the top roll
- I fit anywhere I want to sit now (car, booth, theater seats, airline seats, etc.)
- I still have arthritis, was told it will never go away, but these days I am 99% pain free
- Being able to shop at "regular stores-yes I know I shouldn't have been surprised at this one but after decades of the "big girl shops" and even being too big for the plus size department in most stores, this is a biggie!

I find that I am constantly touching my collar bones now! When I'm laying down you can kinda see my hip bones! I'm freezing all the time! All my shoes and rings are too big. I'm constantly getting molested by people if I go out to the bar. Seeing myself in pictures shock me...half the time I don't even recognize myself! My 6 year old daughter tells me I'm pretty My husband constantly complains that I lost my nice round butt. My boobs are now saggy. I wore shorts for the first time in 16 years.20

I am loving reading these! I had lost weight and gotten down to "skinny", but after some illness gained it back and then yo yo'd a few years at the higher end of my weight range, all the way back to my max. I'm re-committed and appreciate all of these posts because they remind me of what I loved about being skinny and how much I want to get back there!
Most top of mind:- Actually loving shopping! Everything fits and you can find the most amazing clearance bargains if you can fit into a size 2!
- bony butt--definitely happens. it hurts to sit or to lay on your side--but it's the good kind of hurt because it reminds you that you're skinny!
- leg crossing, even lower leg, is comfortable
- not hating pictures of me
- not being self-conscious while eating (thinking other people are judging me)
- NO THIGH RUB!!!!
- cute boots zip all the way up (still had to get bigger calf ones, though, even at a size 2 those calves did not go away!)
- People telling me I've gotten "too skinny".

I had a weird one....my feet lost weight.
lol- seriously, my feet slid around in my sandals and my running shoes no longer fit, properly.6 -
I get "drunk" sooner. I already feel "light headed" when I drink two glasses of wine.
Lol this is true for me also.
Biggest change for me has been that I don't give a *kitten* as much as I use to about certain things, feel more confident, feeling a lot lighter on runs although I'm injured right now.13 -
Having to get a new mattress as the one I had is all of a sudden way too hard and causing me sleep problems as I'm a side sleeper.4

Once I was laying on my belly watching TV, and I realized my hipbones were starting to hurt a little because my tummy was small enough that I was laying on them instead of completely on my tummy. I have also noticed my collarbones becoming more prominent. My arms still don't fit well in women's cut sleeves, but it's better than it was. I was also not expecting to shrink out of my clothes. I was a men's medium or women's large, now I'm solidly men's small and women's medium is roomy. I think I'll be a solid small when I'm done. My favorite home pants are super baggy on me, and I just got them last winter, so I'm just wearing them anyway. Contrary to most of you, I don't like clothes shopping, and having to get mostly new things is quite a trial. (although I'd much rather have to get new things because I'm smaller than because I'm bigger)6
