My FB post tonight: "There's a blog on myfitnesspal.com that has touched me - people are swapping stories of observations of small changes in their day-to-day lives since losing significant weight. Honest. Funny. Inspiring. Amazing. Beautiful. So glad I stumbled across it. Rock on, lovely people. Keep it up!" xo to everyone here - this is the best thread on MFP, if you ask me.
^^This^^
So glad I started this discussion - all the responses, and I mean all of them, are amazing :-)11 -
I'm so excited to lose the chub rub. I'm 174 pounds at the moment, the heaviest I've been, and when I was on a city break in London last week (which definitely requires a tonne of walking) it was chub rub city!! My thighs were on FIRE. This thread is so encouraging.13

This Sunday I'm taking part in streetslide. It's a 315metre slip and slide set up in one of the city streets. Would never have had the confidence to ever do anything like this before.
Love being able to keep up with my kids and at times being told that I'm walking too fast for them.

Mine was feeling my tailbone against any hard surface I sat on and feeling ever so cold wherever I was.
Another thing was how the guy who'd never looked at me when I was overweight, started paying attention to me. It made me sad instead of happy because I am the same girl he's been studying with for the past six months.25 -

Aww that brought tears to my eyes too.
When I realised I had hands like my Nan and my Mum.
When I bought new underwear and then complained to my SO that they were cheap crap because the elastic was already gone. You silly bugger he says...they're too big.
Being able to wear his underwear, his belts, his shorts which he growls at but I know he loves it. I have three extra wardrobes to raid.
Like Miffylou...taking my kids on a big slippery slide and being able to run the stairs up to top carrying two yo. Over n over. Going on show rides in general. I'm the two y.o! Somebody stop me!
People being surprised I have this figure when I've had five kids. Gee you looked after yourself hehe.

This! My tailbone grazes easily if I do sit ups without a good mat! ALWAYS cold.
Another one was looking at a picture of the back of a large group doing an evening charity walk and I couldn't find myself anywhere even though I would see the friend I was with - took me ages to realise I was the small one next to her as I'd always been bigger!3 -
I didn't lose that much weight - 30lb, but didn't expect to be cold all the time.
Also - didn't expect to lose additional sizes in maintenance, but I dropped two more staying the same weight. Nice surprise.20 -
Please keep this thread going! I think it is inspiring!3

Since I'm wearing one of them today: Being able to take hand me downs from my 16 year old athlete niece. Lately she keeps getting taller and I keep getting smaller. It's working out very, very well for me. Yay!18

Awwww! That is my goal too. My husband is 5 inches taller than me and very lean and I've always weighed more than him our entire marriage (13 years). I am finally going to be lighter than him in a couple of months so I told him on the day I get to my goal weight I want him to carry me up the stairs

Another one I have to add because this just happened. I can wrap my arms around my husband and our stomachs are flat against each other. It's such a weird feeling to be able to hug him properly and fit nicely right up against him. He's lost 25 pounds and I've lost almost 50 so that is a lot of tummy gone that used to be there. I NEVER want to go back to our old selves.37

This may be a weird one, but lately I have been noticing how my more roomy the driver's seat in my car is. I feel a lot smaller sitting there than I used to, lol.14

Also, more chivalrous acts from men. Last night I was leaving work and it was dark out. I had a male coworker offer to walk me out so I was safe, lol. I don't know why, but I was shocked that he offered. I also notice random men holding the door open for me more often. Kind of sad that it takes losing weight to get more of this kind of treatment though.43

I love this one! I'm waiting for that as well. My husband used to try to pick me up but I felt too heavy and then only got heavier. I'm so looking forward to the time when he and I can both revel in it!6 -
The one that surprised me most was the look on my boyfriend's face when he first saw me 45 pounds lighter. He's a marine and I only get to see him about once a year. I of course was expecting a positive reaction...but the emotional reaction he had to seeing me after 8 months and being a lot lighter then I used to be...literally made him cry. And he's a marine...they don't cry. Shhhhh don't tell him I said that!
He then proceeded to pick me up like a caveman and carry me off to the bedroom...another unexpected perk!56 -
Good: No more chafing legs. Bad: Loose skin.
For my rings I bought this stuff from a jeweler online, it's kind of like thinner rubber cement in a tiny applicator tube. You clean the ring with alcohol then apply it in a layer on the inside of the ring, wait at least 24 hours, then wear the ring. Lasts a long time, works great, now I don't have to try and come up with money to get my wedding ring resized!
Any idea what this product is called? I need this!

I've only lost 21, but the benefits are there! Not so much joint pain (specifically ankles) after long walks or workouts. Not affected as much by heat. Higher energy levels. Also, PMS symptoms are reduced. I used ALWAYS know my period was coming, because I was bloated, grumpy, hungry, etc. Now I have been surprised by it a couple of times. On the downside, someone else mentioned that you can't drink as much! So, I've had to pretty much eliminate alcohol so I don't have to suffer the next day.9

This was my "awwww" for the day. How sweet!7
