Ok...I am just getting started but will log in my steps, miles, time. I have got to do something to get my blood sugar levels down before I have to go on meds.

I am delighted to join this challenge. I have actually started walking to and from work from 5 January and I am loving it!! I am in UK and for me it is a 6.6 mile round trip, 5 days a week. In total I have walked over 33 miles so far. I feel amazing at the end of the day and feel that I am doing something wonderful for myself.0

I guess I'll join this, too. Yesterday, I walked for 10 minutes on the treadmill, and did the recumbent bike for 20 minutes.0

May I join? Realise it is late in the month, but generally try and do a lot of walking, but due to work commitments, I am spending a lot of time sitting on trains at the moment. We have just invested in a treadmill, so I am hoping to at least do a minimum of 30 minutes - fitbit says I have completed 7853 steps so far and I am just about to give the machine a trial run.
Previously have lost 2 stone last year with change in eating and walking - fell away from MFP (stupidly) and stopped losing, but managed to only put on 2lb in the time away.0 -

Today I logged 11,867 steps! That's my new personal best, I am so excited. I went a total of 6 miles. Though I see many people logging way more than that, to me it's great. I feel great, I walked all the way to my local library and looked at lots of materials to help me along my journey to a new and more healthy me.0

Make sure you don't beat yourself up too harshly about falling off the MFP wagon, what matters is you caught up with it and hopped back in lapses happen with any fitness regime we're only human after all0 -

Just started browsing the groups - this one looks a good idea .....but cold windy and dark when I get in from work!! Looking out step counter and will go to Metrocentre tomorrow and walk from one end to other and back counting steps- Good start I hope0

Today I managed to get in 7,283 steps, not too shabby for cold rainy weather I'd say everyone is posting great numbers! Keep up the amazing work!0

If you have a smart phone it is worth downloading the Map My Walk app they also have one for running and cycling. You put on your GPS hit the start button and it records your walking including speed and amount of calories. The added bonus is that it automatically adds these calories into MFP for you. I love it.
Apart from that if I am getting the bus I either walk one or two stops further away from my home and then get off one or two stops before my final destination.
I leave the car at home for short journeys including doing my food shopping. Carrying the heavy bag on the way back works up a sweat and allows me to burn more energy.
I try to look at ways I can fit a walk in rather than taking out extra time to do it (in a sometimes busy day it is not always possible to fit in a walk or exercise). So visiting a friend if it is possible I walk, work I walk, cinema which is 1.5 miles away I walk there and back and without even realising it I have walked 3 miles.
