Hey I have a quick question, what are the benefits of doing things barefoot?

I feel as if I am more grounded and my balance is better. Running shoes are great for walking/running, but aren't designed for lifting. Because of all the cushioning they have in them, they can affect your balance and form when performing lifts.

I have a pair of Van's that I bought for lifting because they are more flat and less cushiony than my running shoes, but have been doing it barefoot long enough that I have yet to use them for that, and typically just wear them around from day to day. They make shoes designed for lifting, but I'm too cheap to spend the money on them!

A lot of it comes down to personal preference though. I know plenty of people who lift in running shoes and do so without any problems. For me though, losing the shoes made a huge difference.
