Harry Potter Weight Loss Challenge - Ravenclaw

    Welcome all newbies to Ravenclaw! As soon as everyone is sorted into houses, I'll post a list of all Ravenclaw members with start weights and weekly weights. For the main challenge between houses, I'll calculate the percentage of weight lost for our entire house each week and post it on the main thread.

    But, to make things more interesting, I think we ought to have our own challenge within the house. What do you all think?

    Remember, weigh in is on Sunday!

    I usually weigh in on Monday Morning because I am at home alone then, Is that ok or do I have to weigh in on Sunday and I love the idea of having an in house challenge. :)

    We need to post our house weight loss percentage on the main thread on Sunday - so I need everyone's weight on Sunday. If you want to use your prior Monday's weight as your weight for the week, that is ok with me. Just let me know.

    I think it's a great idea to have our own challenges! To track them, if it's not too much work for you, whenever we meet them, we can get house points and keep track of them in our signatures

    I weigh in on Fridays so here it goes:
    SW- 143lbs
    5/6 weight- 140lbs

    YEAH I lost 3lbs this week!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's go RAVENCLAW

    Maybe whoever wins the week's challenge can become Prefect for the next week and set that week's challenge. What do you think?

    Hm so I weighed myself this morning because I can't weigh myself tomorrow because every one will be home and I couldn't believe my eyes, 99 Ibs I had gained, after all my hard work this week I feel like a failure and I feel like I have let Ravenclaw down already, I could just about throw myself down and cry. :( I think that I will just get you to use 98 Ibs as this weeks weight and I will weigh my self on Monday and that will be my weight for next week if that's ok. :)

    My scale is moving out with my roommate tomorrow..so today I weigh 139.4 lbs. !

    Hm so I weighed myself this morning because I can't weigh myself tomorrow because every one will be home and I couldn't believe my eyes, 99 Ibs I had gained, after all my hard work this week I feel like a failure and I feel like I have let Ravenclaw down already, I could just about throw myself down and cry. :( I think that I will just get you to use 98 Ibs as this weeks weight and I will weigh my self on Monday and that will be my weight for next week if that's ok. :)

    That's ok with me. Just, don't beat yourself about the weight. It looks like you're already in a healthy BMI so maybe working out will give you the body tone you're looking for. And remember, muscle mass weighs more than body fat, so the more toned you are, the more you will weigh - but that's a good thing because muscle also burns more calories. Keep up with the weekly challenges, and don't sweat what the scales say! How'd you do with the challenges this week?

    I'm a balloon artist. No, that does not mean I draw on balloons (people always think that), it means that I make balloon animals. I'm also a life guard, and I design and make jewelry. YAY for being a starving artist!. You'd think this would mean that I'm not terribly overweight... but I am... =/

    Let's see... balloon artist, life guard and jewelry maker... A fairly unusual skill set I'd say :smile:

    I've done balloon art - kinda fun to watch the animals take shape - and much easier than a transformation charm!

    OR - maybe whoever loses the most each week and meets the main weekly challenges gets house points they can track in their signatures.

    they ravenclaw's!! i'm a little nervouse about tomorrow's weight in. i quit smoking on tuesday and have been cheating on calories a little and i haven't even really been logging the past couple days. i've only allowed myself to cheat with healthy foods though, like fruits and salad, so i don't think it'll be too bad. i refuse to have any junk food cuz i don't want to have the "well, i quit smoking this week" excuse. this group is definitely helping keep me motivated not to cheat on junk food though lol so thanks for that!! :)

    i know people have been talking about weekly challenges, have we decided anything yet? this group is moving pretty fast, so it's hard to keep up sometimes. can you put it on the first post of the message board so it's easy to find? thanks :) and this harry potter challenge is awesome!

    i think exercise challenges could be fun. we could do a miles traveled challenge cuz it's easy for people who do different kinds of exercise to participate. treadmills and ellipticals show miles, and i saw somewhere else that if people used bikes, every 5 miles on a bike counted as 1 mile to be fair to the walkers and runners :)

    I ALWAYS go over on my sugar-damn!!! I am trying to watch sugar as much as calories because my body hangs on to those sugar grams!!!!

    I love our own in house challenges with the prize of becoming prefect for the week- not only does it motivate us but it keeps with the HP theme (which is important to me).

    Oh and I met the food (8glasses of water) and exercise (30 minutes of exercise each day) challenges every day this week.

    Just have to come up with a challenge

    I'm really working on the 8 glasses. It hard for me, I just don't think about it. I'm going to keep that as a personal challenge :] To make it something I don't have to struggle with or really think about it.

    Ok thank you, I will try not to, yeah I know. I will do that, I met the exercise challenge every day but struggled with the water challenge, I just can't drink that much so I will work on that. :)
