While there's no healthy way to lose 10 pounds so quickly (aside from severing a limb which really isn't healthy either).

That doesn't mean you shouldn't give it your all. Drink plenty of water, make good food choices (cut out dairy, breads, and sweets), exercise (even if it's just a daily walk).

Now is the perfect time to make a healthy lifestyle change. You may not have lost all the weight by the time he gets home, BUT you'll feel good about yourself and confidence is key!

Low carb, low calorie, watch your sodium, lots of water, lots of cardio, but not too intense. If you haven't already been eating low carb you should drop a good bit of water, and little fat. Probably not 10 lbs, but that probably the best way to lose as much as possible in 10 days.

Expect to gain most of it back.

Relax and enjoy the reunion! He's coming back to you not your 10 lbs. Life is too short and this is a time to be tall and proud, and in the moment. Not thinking about your 10 lbs. He won't notice. Neither should you.

    Have a good time!

One doesn't have to cut out dairy or bread as food choices to make good food choices.

Probably should have thought about this at Xmas time. Ain't happening unless you dehydrate your body completely or cut off a limb.
Trust that you're NOT going to lose 10lbs of FAT in 2 weeks. You might lose some water, but that rarely does a lot for appearance if one is overweight to begin with.

You could lose water weight doing something like cutting out carbs, but it won't make you look any different. You'll just be able to tell your boyfriend that you lost 10 pounds.

And...FWIW, if he's coming back from a deployment or basic training, he's going to rip your clothes off no matter what you look like.

From a fellow military girlfriend/fiance/now wife, this is true. He'll be pumped to see you no matter what. He really won't care or even think about your weight.

As for the 10 lbs, start now with a modest deficit and perhaps the next time you see him, you'll be closer to your goal :)

I was stating those things as items she could cut out in order to quickly make a difference on the scale and possibly the mirror (since that seems to be what she's worried about).

You need the "10 pounds off by 7:30 p.m. tomorrow diet." It's easy to follow as it consists of only four things: water, laxatives, diuretics, and speed.

Seriously, you can't do that in any sort of healthy or permanent way. Just dress nicely and have a big smile on your face. Your boyfriend will be happy to see you whether you've lost 10 pounds or not.

Next time you talk to him just lie about your weight and say you're 140. He won't know the difference when he sees you.

ROFL!!! This is probably true. However if it was me I would just not bring up the topic at all and pick out some of your most flattering clothes to wear, contour face with makeup, create the illusion... while doing healthy weight loss at the pace that it actually takes.

You're right. So maybe we should be asking why she NEEDS to lose 10lbs?

No way to do it in a healthy way. Besides, according to this weight chart, you are not overweight.

Perhaps you should aim for losing 5 pounds instead... :#It's better than nothing. 10 is a bit too much, be it that you're only 150 pounds.
