Unexpected results of weight loss

I just thought of one. I have so much room in my office chair now. I used to fill the entire seat (and then some) but not anymore! I'm still waiting for my feet to shrink, though.2

1) Being able to sit in the airplane seat without my legs/arms touching the person next to me. 2) walking down the airplane aisle without having to turn sideways to not hit the people sitting in the aisle seats 3) no aches/pains walking up and down stairs.1

I put my hands on my hips earlier this week and said to myself, "Holy crap, I have hips?!" - I usually just put them on approximately where I imagine my hips would be, but I can actually feel a little bone in there now!6
-
Also, mental alertness. I'm better able to concentrate and focus. Maybe because nagging aches and pains are gone so there's nothing distracting me.4

I'm cold all the time now..1

The loose skin. I can't see past that to enjoy my weight loss. I'm working on getting consultations to get the skin removed so that I can actually feel good about myself. I figured losing weight would fix all my issues with how much I dislike how I look, but nope!7

I've lost over 100lbs this year and I still get new surprises every day! It's so easy to buckle my seatbelt in the car, running errands doesn't seem like running a marathon, and I can go into any clothing store and actually find clothes that fit! Since I lost the weight I don't just eat to eat so the food I'm eating has become more delicious because I'm paying more attention. I sleep so much better since I lost the weight. I could go on forever. I'll never put that weight back on. My whole life is so much better!!10

lol I love this so much! I never knew how to describe it before!
My loose skin claps more when I run than my fat ever did
This happens to me, it's annoying, but better than the fat. It embarrasses me, but then I just assume no one else hears it.

I actually had to lower mine at the last renewal, that was fun!0 -
My co-worker thought my husband was having an affair with the woman she saw in the restaurant... it was me.28

I still see myself as the size I was when I first started and still refer to myself as the "fat" friend. Not sure when/if that ever goes away. But everything else is so worth it and I'd never change a thing!7

So awesome.0 -
More unexpected results of weight loss... men have complimented my husband on how hot I am. The most recent case was someone who waited until I left to tell my husband how good I look. This on a day that I was wearing yoga pants, a tank, and a hoodie. I guess they realize it's inappropriate to say to me, so they say it to him instead?
People at work ask me what I've been doing ALL the time.
I've started getting better at styling my hair, makeup, and nails to emphasize my features, rather than to hide my chubbiness.
I've become much more distrustful towards men in public. I talk about my husband more with people when I first meet them.
One woman I know has acted much more threatened by me. She interrupts people who try to talk to me and redirects the conversation to herself and her weight loss. It's not a competition (she's already quite trim).
[Good] men in my life have become MUCH more respectful. Before, I think my weight helped me be one of the guys/under the radar on the attractiveness scale. I was chubby and stuffing my face, making jokes, whatever. Now, the good men in my life have become super respectful. "How's your husband tonight?" "When's your husband coming out again?" "Tell your husband I said hello." It's a very obvious, "I know you're married and I respect that you're married."15 -
Haha great idea for a thread!
Well I actually now see my collarbone.
I always check my side look to see if I still have that double chin which I don't.
I still order size 14 clothes out of habit when am a 10 or a bigger cup size meanwhile my boobs have shrank

Another one for me:
I feel guilt for being a fraud, falsely advertising the size of my chest. [Read: My boobs have gone down from a D to less than a C and I still haven't bought new bras. Some poor man is in for some disappointment when he realizes there is nothing there!]8 -

lol...I do this too. Although I still have a bit of a double chin, but it's going away slowly.1 -
After losing 25kg through diet and lots of cycling, I recently had trouble buying trousers because the trousers were too tight on the thighs but loose on the waist.5
-
With stronger thighs and less weight, I keep hitting my head on the roof when I get out of my car. Seriously. Every. Time.16

Thanks for sharing loved reading this
I can hop into my jeep instead of haul myself up2 -
I no longer get shanked by my bras.21

Snicker. Because that's so relatable.5 -
I'm considering getting a super short haircut. I never liked them on me before, because I always worried I'd look like I had a teeny head on a great big body. Now I feel like I might be able to pull it off.13

I lost a shoe size, which I never even considered possible. Turns out I don't have 'boat feet' as my mum likes to say, they were just fat.
I also have noticed that my armpits are really deep pits now, as opposed to flat areas. Shaving is a pain now!
And finally, I actually like being girly now! Gone are the days where my wardrobe was 15 black hoodies and 10 pairs of jeans, now I have (and wear) dresses! I love to dress up when I go out now, it's so odd thinking back to how I used to be.7 -
Being able to shop in "regular" stores.
And spending a lot of time flexing in the mirror. Weight lifting FTW!6 -

LOL. Me too. Most of that is at home, but my trainer has caught me checking myself out more than once and teases me mercilessly about it. "Oh look Linda! There's another mirror!"6 -

^^^THIS! Last night my trainer was the one who actually told me to get in front of the mirror so I could see (and appreciate) my rear delt definition while going through my reps. I've never seen her look so proud.4 -

At this point when she tells me to look at myself doing something (presumably so I know what it looks like when I'm doing it right) I usually can't decide if she actually wants me to look or if she's teasing me. She's a super fun trainer.-1
