New to MFP-Starting a ketogenic lifestyle!

Hi, I just joined MFP and the low carb group this morning.
A little about myself...I've struggled with my weight for the last 15 years. I have very high levels of insulin, which make it very easy to put on fat and very difficult to get rid of it. I have tried exercising more, counting calories, HCG, weight watchers…nothing seemed to make much of a difference until I found Keto!
I started reading about different ways of eating and I am convinced that the ketogenic lifestyle is by far the healthiest way of eating for EVERYONE but especially those that struggle with insulin resistance/blood sugar issues. Its just tough to stay on it in a world where you are bombarded with "healthy" whole grains and low fat options.
I've had good results with keto in the past but always end up falling off the wagon
I'm hoping that by being part of a group and using MFP, will help me stay on track this time!

I am trying to loose my weight using ketosis also. I have lost a total of 144 pounds. I have 40 more to go until I reach my goal. I also found that I feel so much better in ketosis. My blood sugar and blood pressure are both better. Once I get past the "getting into ketosis" part I have so much more energy! A extra benefit I have discovered is my mood has improved. I would suffer from mild depression from time to time. While in ketosis I don't do this. Good luck and wishing to the best.0

Been on keto for 44 days, have lost 24 lbs so far and I LOOOOVE this diet. Be wary cuz people in the main forums are not very kind to us usually. Feel free to add me! I'm 25 years old from Colorado Springs. Currently at 251 and trying to get to UG of 140-145 (5'7 1/2). KCKO!0
