So I've heard a lot of different views on fifty shades of gray , some people think its retarded, others find it amazing. What are your guys and girls views?

I'd rather watch porn with my husband (and have it lead somewhere) than watch soft-core drivel with a crowded theater of women.0

Book was very poorly written. I won't see the movie.

Well, the film is probably never going to win any Oscars.....but as long as it doesn't promote inequality, non consent or abuse I think it's probably fine....can;t say I'll watch it at the cinema though, maybe if it comes on TV!0

It started out as Twilight fan fiction... just keep that in mind. The "upside" on that source of inspiration is very, very limited.0
-
Harlequin romances with intense sex....dumb, dumb, dumb!0

I heard the movie is god awful, and I haved more hardcore porn then that stupid book. I dont need a movie to get a girl turned on0

I didn't read the books, but I read the excerpt where he pulls the tampon out of her himself and starts going at it. That was enough to turn me off.0

In the book it does.0 -
That is one of the most poorly written books/series I have ever read. I couldn't get through the whole first one. It's so stupid. I'd rather just watch porn.0

Well, for starters, how about we not use the R word. Ok?
The book is garbage, poorly written and it's not an accurate representation of the lifestyle.0 -

I've heard nothing but bad things about both the book and the movie. There is plenty of good literature out there that depicts people in this (and other) lifestyles, so how this one got so famous is beyond me.0

I haven't read the book (well, I read the first couple pages as a free preview on my kobo, but couldn't get past the poor writing), and I have no desire to see the movie, but it is my understanding that the "hero" is basically a glorified abuser.

No worries. Friday brain...it's a thing. I'm on my second cup of coffee.0 -
If you like that sort of thing, read "The Story of O."
Fifty Shades is just juvenile Twilight fan fiction.0 -
I will be the odd man out.... I loved the books. Not because they are well written but because it was a really easy read which is what this busy, tired momma was looking for. I didn't really find the books any more descriptive than your average romance novel just that the type of sex they were having was a bit taboo. My fav parts of the book was the witty banter in the txt messages and emails0
