    Well, considering it started as Twilight fanfiction, was never interested in it. And according to some friends who have read at least part of it, it's a HORRIBLE example of a BDSM relationship. What's portrayed in the books is abuse, not an actual relationship. So I have no desire to read or watch it. If I want to watch something that turns me on, I'll delve into my husbands porn collection. He has surprisingly good taste.

    I couldn't even get through the first book... I've heard the acting in the movie was absolutely terrible!

    It normalizes abusive relationships. This is more of a horror story than a romance fantasy.

    yes it does it is the grossest, I read the books, (really didn't know what I got myself in to when I began it) but I liked the story beyond the raunchy sex stuff but that was just gross.

    I loved the movie personally. Jamie Dornan although on the other hand could NOT play his part.. He wasn't "rough" enough like the booked played out.. Anna played an amazing role and she done very well in the movie.

    I loved it.. Actually loved it lol

    BAHAHA, I read all three book reviews. This woman is absolutely hilarious in her criticisms of the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy.

    I read the books.. I enjoyed them. Like most, not because they were well written, but because they were an easy read. I saw the movie- and I knew what I was getting myself into when I did. I enjoyed it. Again, for what it was.

    Biggest bone to pick with 50 as a whole. They make it look like you have to of been abused or have some kind of mental illness in order to partake in a BDSM lifestyle.

    I'm pretty chemically balanced & I enjoy being suspended from the ceiling.

    I'm also a survivor of sexual abuse. The movie was so unrealistic. And it's just fiction. And it wasn't appealing. It didn't have rape in it. I think the movie must be different from the book. At the end she breaks it all off with him. It is portrayed as being a negative experience. Not a positive one (other than all the gentle consensual sex with a strong and capable 21 year old adult). So, as far as this movie goes. I wouldn't worry about it. But, let's teach our kids to know the difference between real life and fictional movies about a dark fantasy. Basic Instinct was a very dark fantasy as well. And let's trust that adult women can watch a movie and not try to replicate it without educating themselves. I was harmed in my past by abuse in real life. Not by any movie or book. And the conversations that are happening are educating people (and young people). I watched it because I felt I needed to know something about it before condemning it.
