So true! I sit at my desk in work and get up just to walk around to burn off some energy, and wereas before I'd find that sitting down for long periods was a pretty brilliant hobby, these days I want to be out and about, just walking my dogs and enjoying the great outdoors.116 -

I love this thread! I remember finding whatever that bone is below the collarbone...I thought I had a tumor for about a week before I realized what it was! Duh!135

- Definitely waking up happier ^
- Feeling your collarbone/ribs coming through
- Having your jeans sag around your butt and looser at the stomach - not an attractive look but I love it and hate it at the same time
- Having friends tell you you're doing a great job and that you look healthier than you've done in years (in a nice way!)
- Having friends say you look lean. I know I still have pudge on my stomach but it's leaner, it's nice having someone notice that, makes me feel like the effort is really paying off.
- Getting checked out way more, the confidence is beginning to shine through!142 -
- Having the saleswoman look at you and say, Ok, you wear a "small" right?
- Seeing your collarbone
- Being cold all the time
- Your bones hurt when trying to work out without a mat
- That eating healthy, veggies & low fat, lean meats) can mean eating a lot of food - some days I am just tired of eating, and still don't reach my calorie goal.
- Working out makes you smaller even when you're on maintenance.

And the other side of the coin, not watching what I ate was the reason I got to where I was and have no intention of getting back to.

I'm only starting on my journey - 16lbs lost since Jan 2nd. But the biggest thing is quite how much time I have to dedicate to thinking about food, prepping food. Whoever mentioned earlier about the sheer volume of healthy food I'm consuming. I'm eating 5-6 times a day. Before I would eat 3 times a day (or sometimes 2 if I skipped breakfast), but what I was eating and my portions were totally out of control.

How the effort and mindset of the act of losing weight becomes a blueprint for other things in life you want to achieve.
The application itself is what's life changing, more so than the actual loss.211 -
How good it feels to have lean limbs, especially love my toned arms and thighs/calves (I feel very proud of my achievements and my fitness level)
Also that amazing feeling that practically everything I put on just looks fabulous lol113 -
Being ACTUALLY handicapped, I get really annoyed when large girls take the handicapped stall. It's NOY for you...it's for us who really need it. Please...a little respect.-46

- Being cold all the time....it hasn't gotten better with time for me. I lost the majority of my weigth 7 years ago AND I"M STILL COLD ALL THE TIME!
- The confidence to do and learn new things. I became a Zumba instructor a couple of years ago and recently got my personal training liscene after a Zumba ending injury.
- The amazing community of people you integrate into when you decide to make healthier food and exercise choices.

Ditto on the feeling cold. What has amazed me four years into this is how I have become addicted to exercise. Another thing I have noticed is now that I eat healthy how foods I used to love turn me off because of how I feel after eating them. I have also found that I own a heck of a lot more clothes than I ever have and that I actually like shopping for clothes now.61

How much I touch myself. (Not like that, pervs!) But I just find the new contours of my body fascinating. My collarbone, knuckles, my legs look/feel completely different, I can feel my ribs and hipbones when I lie down. It's crazy.146

wearing a dress and not having to worry about your inner thighs rubbing together and stinging like hell!!! Summer is so much more enjoyable without the extra weight making you extra hot243

I got this belt Notch! I have gone from Jeans being tight - to being on my Second Belt Notch, Awesome feeling.
In total - on off MFP I have dropped 7 1/2 Stone so far, with 2-3 to go. Things I have found so far. I am still over weight but I am getting there
The general healthy feeling is amazing.
The fitness that comes in with mega training is awesome.
Feeling lighter on your feet is awesome.
Being able to run for hours - Awsome
Playing sports to a better potential
Sex is better
Confidence over shines everything
Feeding routines become easy
Fitness regime becomes easy
Bad parts? Not getting to have mountains of FOOD
Missing sweet drinks
Having to throw away clothes and buy new ones (both a bad and good point)

Self confidence, pep in the step and seeing bones I never knew I had, are just a few. A love for being active, more like a NEED to be active every day. And clothes are fun to shop for, I go to a second hand shop and come home with a whole new wardrobe! Lots of positives, the only downside, I have one "friend" I've known for years and she's said nothing. Really? I mean complete strangers have commented, cashiers at the grocery, dentist etc, so it's not as if you can't tell I've lost about 40 pounds, I mean I'm barely 5 feet tall! Last time I saw her she was very passive aggressive, laughed because I was wearing a skirt. I've known her since high school and I was always the chubby one, she was tall and slim, but she's not anymore. I realized that my success made her feel like a failure, in her mind. The last time I saw her will be the last time.198

ive only lost 20 of well over 100 to go but heres what ive experienced so far (cant wait for more things!!!)
as someone else said, laying in bed and running your hand over your rib cage and starting to feel RIBS!
my inner thigh is also starting to feel different (again, lying in bed feeling it. the song ' i touch myself was apparently made for people who have lost or are losing weight! LOLOL)
hubby commenting that my butt is getting smaller (YAY!)
starting to buy smaller sizes
the frustrating feeling when you are INBETWEEN sizes - NOTHING FITS RIGHT!
wanting to/ looking forward to working out!
thinking about the calorie count of EVERYTHING
people asking you how many calories are in 'X' (Whatever they are eating or thinking about eating)

Your shoes may no longer fit.
Don't be too quick to resize your wedding bands, most jewelers won't do it more than twice.
Find and make friends with your local consignment shop, don't splurge too much on clothes until you reach (and have stayed for a while at) goal.
Some of your friends and family members will not be supportive.
It's not a linear process (especially for us girls)! Some days/weeks you will not lose anything and that's okay. Stick to your plan.

This is true. I didnt go to gym yesterday so out of guilt I cleaned the house, did the washing, made supper and watered the garden just so I dont feel lik a lazy sod lol69 -
+ That it won't magically fix all your problems. In fact, some of my "problems" have come more in focus because of the time and energy I have spent on myself and not "others."
^^This. You sort of start to realize that you were letting a lot of things slide that you never should have. Finally realizing your worth and finding confidence within yourself tends to bring a lot of things to light.
Ditto on feeling cold. I am cold all the time now!
What shocked me the most has been the scowls I get from some co-workers who say they want to lose weight but don't try to. And the comments that they make about my weight loss - you're too skinny now, you look sick, why are you still working out, etc. It's eye opening to see how un-supportive people can be when you actually make positive changes in your life.

How eating healthy suddenly makes junk food taste terrible. Had Tostitos salsa last night (which is actually very low calorie) and thought, 'How was I downing an entire jar of this crap in a sitting?' The amount of salt that I could taste was overwhelming.
Working out and regaining flexibility = being able to just bend at the waist and tie my shoes. My husband is in awe

Lots of good stuff here.
I remember finding a few new 'friends' who all of a sudden would talk to me, or notice me, or remember my name next time I visited their establishment when I had been going there for years or had mutual friends etc....
Some people obviously let vanity cloud their judgement.
Or maybe I just had a better attitude after and was more approachable?

I have been up and down with my weight overt the last 15 years. This list is awesome, reminds me of all the things I have to look forwards to as I get back to a healthy weight.... Feeling my collar bones was one of my favorites. Thanks for the reminders everyone!!!!33

Loose skin
.. I only lost 40 pounds as opposed to people who have to deal with huge amounts of loose skin due to 100 pound, etc. weight losses, and it took a good 2-3 years of working out to snap things back (mostly) into place lol 51 -
