Sorry, I have been MIA...wasn't feeling good for a spell, but better now. I was still logging in to see all the great runs and fun pics!

I didn't run today :( - snowshoes won over sneakers. I'll get a run in tomorrow. Obviously won't make this month's goal but I'm okay with it...as long as I make March's goal! My next half in May 3rd so I can't slack too much!

    2/1, 3 miles, treadmill
    2/2, 4.34 miles, treadmill
    2/3, XT - Zumba
    2/4, 3 miles, treadmill (&Zumba)
    2/5, 4.34 miles, treadmill (&Zumba)
    2/9, 5.78 miles, treadmill (&Zumba)
    2/10, 3.5 miles, treadmill (&Zumba)
    2/11, 6.05 miles, treadmill (&Zumba)
    2/12, 3.0 miles, treadmill
    2/13, rest
    2/14, 10.4 miles, OUTSIDE!!!!!!!!
    2/15, rest
    2/16, 4.34 miles, treadmill (&Yoga for Runners)
    2/17, Zumba
    2/18-2/21, sick
2/22, 2.25ish miles, snow shoeing!!!! (not counting as running miles)

It was a "slushy" run but it was 44 degrees out... I'm tired of the treadmill

I've never used snowshoes, but from what I heard, 2+ miles in snowshoes hardly qualify as slacking :)

    @briebee7 : 20 miles? That's quite some distance, awesome!

@ddmom0811 - I love waterfalls, beaches, rivers and mountain vistas but you just may have the best running photo's yet. You live near a Paint the Trail project; that is so exciting. I'd probably run into people because I'd need to read everything while running.
@Wendy1Fl - Careful it all starts with a 3 day streak, then 5, then 10, then 30 and suddenly you can't miss a day of running because you'll lose your streak. Joking!
I'm glad your back is feeling better and even happier for your hopeful outlook.
@briebee7 - 20 miles with a strong fast finish-Fierce! Run on sister! Bet the ocean felt incredible after that run & probably was exactly what your muscles needed.
@tweekedgirl - Don't sweat the goal, rest the knee. I wish you a swift recovery and many more miles next month.
@skippygirlsmom - up to 4.5 miles already? Sweet, No moss growing on you!

The weather is horrible with sleet and snow and I wasn't braving the Y, although on second thought, I bet no one was there and I should have gone.

But in desperation not to fall to far behind in my "mileage" I walked more than 2 miles in the house, 'round and 'round.. so I'm sort of cheating 2 miles. But I hope to make it up later in the week with real mileage. Looks like it'll be mostly treadmill with the weather.

I should be braver in the cold. I'll have to expand err start a winter running wordrobe.

@PurpleYFronts - Welcome! You could declare a goal for the last few days of February, you don't have to wait until March. ;)
@HealthyFocused715 - I went snowshoeing last week; that is so not slacking!!! If ever I needed a GoCam that was the day! I had no idea what an ungraceful duck I was until I was attempting to traverse a mountain in snowshoes instead of spikes. You likely got a harder workout from 2.5 miles of snowshoeing than 5 miles of running.
@bsalrye - Great Photos! I love the different camera angles. It was mid 40's here today too! Who cares about a little slush when the sun is shining and the world is warm again- right? Glad you got to run outside again!

Took off 2 runs this week, putting me a few miles behind my plan due to soreness in my left knee, but it seemed to work out as I survived today's half-marathon.

I didn't feel any knee pain during the race, and I managed to pull off a time within a minute of my half-marathon PR from November (with a 6 BPM higher heart rate), but I'll take a few extra days of rest to fully recover before resuming my marathon plan.

    2/1 - 2 miles
    2/3 - 4 miles
    2/4 - 7 miles
    2/5 - 4 miles
    2/7 - 7 miles
    2/8 - 14 miles
    2/10 - 4 miles
    2/11 - 7 miles
    2/13 - 4 miles
    2/14 - 7 miles
    2/15 - 10.25 miles
    2/18 - 5 miles
    2/22 - 13.1 miles (1:47:35 / 8:12 pace)

    Total: 88.35 miles
    Goal: 120 miles
    Remaining: 31.65 miles

@fabine yes that was my plan. I'll have to do some research and find out what my options are. I'll have to travel a couple of hours to shop.

So if anyone has any favorite stores let me know. I'll have to hit Denton, Dallas or Ft Worth TX.

My Pearl Izumi thermal running tights were the single greatest purchase I ever made. Even on clearance they were expensive but my legs were never cold even running in 0&-1degrees.

That puts me at the following:
    2.12: twenty five min- flat
2.15: thirty min (best guess)- hill
    2.20 thirty min - intervals/hills
    2.22: 2+ hours - snow shoveling.

    it's like running.

But not. Either way- Cardio 2x a week is achieved for this week.

We went on a 2.5 mile family walk today, beautiful scenery before I did my 3.8 on the treadmill with 'the doctor'. Figured I'd show that I have beautiful places to run, I just don't. Yet.8m9hki3fqht4.jpg

@fabnine & @elize4270 -- I have a Pearl Izumi biking jacket and it is amazing. Of course, temps down here are nothing like up north but in the morning riding a bike at 40F feels really cold and with the jacket I'm fine. I think it's too hot to run with that jacket in FL though.

@fabnine - I didn't realize that Paint The Trail was a thing... I just thought it was a local guy that did it here. Now I need to investigate where else they are! When I bike on that trail I don't see anything, when I run it I probably only see half of them. When I take the dogs on a walk on it... then I see everything! You know the male dogs, have to stop every 5 feet to notify the dog world that they've been by.

    Feb 1 - 27 mile bike ride.
    Feb 2 - 3 miles
    Feb 3 - strength training
    Feb 4 - 4 miles -
    Feb 5 - rest
    Feb 6 - 3.3 + strength training
    Feb 7 - 34 mile bike ride
Feb 8 - sore from biking, so only did a 5 mile walk, not on ticker
    Feb 9 - 4 miles!
    Feb 10 - Strength training
    Feb 11 - 4.5 miles
    Feb 12 - 4.52
Feb 13- rest -trainer cancelled. :(
    Feb 14 - 34 mile bike ride.
    Feb 15 - 42 mile bike ride.
    Feb 16- 4.51
    Feb 17 - strength training
    Feb 18 -4.62
    Feb 19 - 4.13
    Feb 20 - strength training
    Feb 21 - 5 miles running; 15 miles biking
    Feb 22 - 50 mile bike ride
Feb 23 - rest day. Not sore from bike ride! Finally! I think the foam roller definitely helps for that. But decided I probably should rest my body one day.

@cooter_mom - gorgeous pics! Thanks for sharing!
@elise4270 - I used to live in Dallas! I loved the Lucy store there...although I wasn't looking for cold weather gear at the time.
@_nikkiwolf_ & @fabnine - Thank you for the kind words about snow shoeing...I was getting down on myself for not snowshoeing AND running. It was fun and such a nice change from the dreadmill. C'mon spring!! I did see that the LOCO Guy considers snow shoeing an acceptable activity if you are on a running streak...@fabnine, do you know him/his company? He organizes the Club LOCO races down your way? I ran the Great Bay Half in New Market last year - it was a great race!!!
@ddmom0811 & @fabnine - Thanks for the warm weather gear suggestions - I also need to get shopping!
