Fruits are too sugary and bad for weight loss?

If you want to consume a good fruit, go for avocados. Or if you really want a sweet dessert, go for low carb fruits such as raspberries, blackberries and strawberries.
I just love the demonization of whole foods...

Sugar is an addictive substance, and when you cut sugar (natural unprocessed sugars included) for a sufficient amount of time, your cravings stop.
Anecdotally addictive, or biologically? That is a serious question. My kids are constantly trying to get candy, asking every time we go to the store if they get something. Same way with their phones for games- they implode when they lose them for any amount of time. I think both woukd fit in the same category...they create endorphins, and that makes people happy. But does it happen on a molecular level, or is it just a Pavlov's Dog scenario?0 -

If the government wanted you to be healthy, the fact that going without carbs has been shown to cure- or at the very least, remiss or delay-cancer and cancer symptoms, diabetes, and other health conditionswould be making headlines. But go ahead, keep buying those pesticidal fruits...
Of course. It could be for economical reasons that they want you to just take a pill for whatever you got. I mean, it just costs ya $4. Heck, take 6 of em.0 -

This makes no sense.
You say to stop eating fruit because it's high in sugar, you eat Quest bars.
Quest bars are made with sugar alcohol. You pass sugar alcohols the same way you pass dietary fiber. I will eat one if I'm in a bind between places to ensure I get my protein.
I say to limit eating fruits. They are not necessary or worth the amount of sugars in them. Green, leafy vegetables are much better for your health. You don't pass fructose the same way you pass dietary fiber or sugar alcohols. Fructose causes an insulin spike, which causes your body to store fat.
Here's a graph to help illuminate this for you:

Health Benefits of Fruit and vegetables
"Regular consumption of fruit and vegetables is associated with reduced risks of cancer, cardiovascular disease, stroke, Alzheimer disease, cataracts, and some of the functional declines associated with aging. Prevention is a more effective strategy than is treatment of chronic diseases." (also on pubmed but this is easier to read)0 -

First one was self reporting and they attributed to overall energy balance and glycemic index rather than simply carbohydrate intake (your link didn't have the full conclusion).
Second one was only relevant to women who have tissue that is positive for insulin-like growth factor-I (which is actually a result of eating a high protein diet).

Only if you consume too much protein will that happen. Consuming too high in your daily macros of protein, yes, it will start to break down. This is pretty frank stuff one can read on low-carb and living keto.
And yes, you will store regardless. There have been hundreds of studies revolved around low-carb vs low-fat diets which had no hinder on carbs. Low-carb lost more weight and had better blood work overall compared to the low-fat diets.
Sugar isn't satan, of course, but humans do not need to consume too much of it. Just enough to get by. It seems silly you are getting pensive about my exposing that green, leafy vegetables are a better option to fruits.
Did I say you had to eat vegetables over fruits? Nope. I said they were a better option and can give you all the vitamins and minerals one can find in fruit.
Also, vegetables do have sugar, but not as much as fruit. Take a look for yourself. You have Google.0 -

yea, and there are hundreds of studies showing a regular diet or high protein diet is the same as a low carb diet…
so lets not even start on the low carb/keto is superior BS….but feel free to post said studies, as there always seems to be some nugget that is overlooked when people make blanket statements like you do.
so you are saying that if I consume enough sugar, eat in a calorie deficit, that I would gain weight, because insulin?
There are plenty of things that humans should not consume a lot of, mercury comes to mind, so now you are just making a straw man argument.

Eat within your macros (there are topics on here about how to set up your macros). Earlier on I ate mostly berries and apples (for my fruits), I still eat a lot of berries and not quite as many apples, but I eat bananas all the time for potassium (to help prevent water retention since I lift). Fruits are good things.0

If you want science, take a look at The China Study. Low-carb and other protein-heavy diets can't show the same anti-cancer, anti-heart disease results as a plant-based diet. It is a huge study by certified nutritionists who did not expect to find what they did. Whole foods are good, including whole fruits of every kind.

No. Fruit has fiber and not many calories, and also it tastes awesome.

Nobody here is saying to go low fat. We are saying that balance of all macros is best, but the number one factor in fat loss is calorie deficit. If that means eating fruit works for you then eat fruit. (Low fat is a horrible idea because we need fat for metabolic activity)
You will store fat temporarily, but that is completely irrelevant to the entire thing if you are in a deficit. Any fat you store will be used to replace the quick energy stores that will be used. It's like the whole idea of the "fat burning zone", you may burn slightly more fat in that time, but at the end of the day it doesn't matter because your body returns to it's preferred balance.0 -

First and last links I refuse to open because they aren't science, they are articles.
I don't even know the point of your middle one because it compared ketogenic diets against each other and if the OP likes fruit that much a ketogenic diet is not appropriate for them.0 -
