Should Guys Wear Tank Tops?

I know the standard answer is "If it makes you happy, then where them", but this is the Chit-Chat, Fun and Games category. That answer just doesn't fly
What are your opinions? I'm gonna be honest, until recently, I would have said "Maybe to the beach or pool", but lately, I wear them more. I know it's nothing but me being vein, but I don't care. I know we have a diversified bunch on this board. Hell, Niner would probably wear a tank to a black tie event. Why would DieselByte ever put a shirt on at all?
So what have you? When is it acceptable for a guy to wear a tank top in your opinion?
It's such an intangible thing...but tank tops on guys totally depends. When I think about it, even HOT guys look kinda douchey in tank tops. I think beach and gym only. Can't explain it, but even if you look great in a tank top, I just find it off putting.

Technically I'm a "wife beater" as most of my clients are married females and get the "beat down" daily in the weight room.Sorry, I have to go with no on this. When I see a male tank-top regardless of colour or pattern I immediately think wife-beater. If you want to show off your "guns" a sleeveless t-shirt works just as well. Now that I have arm muscles I will be wearing them on my walks with my dog, with plenty of sunscreen of course.

Well I'm of the mind that if you look horrible in something you should not wear it. This is why I do not wear clothes that make me look like a bratwurst. And you won't see me wearing a bikini at the beach, and so on.
I only wear exercise clothes (spandex type capris/biking shorts) when I'm actually exercising. I'm not running around in a sports bra and yoga pants to horrify the general public.

I'm not making light of it and I was an abused wife in my first marriage. It's just what they've always been called to me. My late husband didn't like the term, either.

I used to wear tank tops and sleeveless t-shirts, during an era when I also would wear Panama Jack, Z Cavaricci jeans, Members Only jackets, Spuds McKenzie t-shirts, British Knight shoes, Cardigan sweaters, and a little hoop earring in my left ear. I quit all of that about 25-30 years ago.

I am the same way, but as far as others idgaf. I just found it funny that when men said something similar in the yoga pant discussion they were told they were bad people and blah blah blah - it went downhill fast.

Yes! I like tanks on guys as long as they're dressed for their body type. (And it's not a professional/formal setting.)

Idgaf what people think bout my tanks, BUT I know that I get hit on way more when I'm out shopping wearing a tank vs regular t-shirt.
Obviously wouldn't wear it to a club, work or restaurant, but most other places I wear them0
