    Ran three miles of, let's call them Fartleks, with the GOTR team Thursday. I was sore the next day- definitely don't do speed work often, so sprinting with 11 year olds is challenging.

    This morning I ran an easy 8.8 around Hilton Head. It's beautiful and sunny and warm, so I went 2 miles further than planned. Oops!

    I'm just starting out. This is my first week with C25K training but I'm extremely excited to be finally working towards my dream of being a runner/jogger. Will you be doing this again for May?

    Welcome to running and to the challenge. Yes we do this every month. @stoshew71 sets it up, cause he's good like that!

    I was also wondering if it would be set up next month too. I will be starting my 3rd week of C25K tomorrow and I'm looking forward to joining this challenge too. :smile:

    Due to some unexpected family events, I won't be able to reach my monthly goal.

    But I did get a chance to run my first HM this morning! It was a great experience. I ran the Lonestar Half in Arlington TX that took us out by Cowboy Stadium, the Ballpark at Arlington, Six Flags and then through town ending up going through the UT Arlington campus.

    I had used the Hal Higdon Novice 2 program and had always hit a wall the last mile of the long run. But today I felt good all the way. The weather was great - 59* and light winds when the race started.

    I started running with the C25K program at the end of July. I stumbled into this thread late last year and have really appreciated all the encouragement and great advice. I also love hearing about what everybody else is doing in our virtual running club. I especially appreciate @loratliff and @skippygirlsmom who recently completed their initial HM's and gave me all sorts of good advice.

    I'd set a goal of 2:15 for my first race and actually ended up at 2:13:38. I had to laugh because Arlington is such a small event that I finished 4th for my game group (40-44). Of course the 3rd place person finished 13 minutes ahead of me...so it's not like it was close. I'm looking forward to working on my speed and the next event...

    75 miles again for me, but this time I'm only counting the miles I run. Walking miles are just a bonus.

    exercise.png
    4/1 - 3 miles - total: 3 miles
    4/3 - 4 miles - total: 7 miles
    4/6 - 7.5 miles - total 14.5 miles
    4/7 - 7 miles - total 21.5 miles
    4/8 - 6.2 miles - total 27.7 miles
    4/9 - 4.75 miles - total 32.45
    4/11 - 7.5 miles - total 39.95

    Amendment: If I walk a total of less than 5 minutes out of 90, I'm not going to try to take the walk breaks back out of my mileage total.

    4/12 - 4.5 miles - total 44.45

    Another amendment: I can't differentiate running time and walking time when I run outdoors, so I'm counting the whole thing. I think I prefer the treadmill, overall.

    4/13 - 7 miles - total 51.45
    4/14 - 2 miles - total 53.45
    4/15 - 2 miles - total 55.45
    4/16 - 2 miles - total 57.45
    4/19 - 2.5 miles - total 59.95
    4/21 - 7 miles - total 66.95
    4/23 - 4 miles - total 70.95
    4/25 - 6.7 miles - total 77.65
    4/26 - 8 miles - total 85.65

    @csman49 : congrats on the new PB!
    @gabbo34: your first half, amazing!
    @KristineGift that's a great time!

    I love all the race pictures. :)

    I probably won't meet my goal this month. No long run last Sunday (5k instead), and none today either. Stupid headache... I went out anyway, but fresh air and movement didn't help, so I turned back soon. Guess I'll just go to bed early and try to squeeze in a little extra mileage during weekdays...

    Marathon today!!!! 3:53:56 Big Sur

    An extremely hilly and windy course. The hills I was well trained for but the head wind was absolutely brutal! Even the overall winner was 3-4 minutes off his last years time. This was my 2nd marathon ever and my 1st overall. My mom was at the finish line helping hand out medals and the got to give mine (it is home town marathon). A very memorable day!

    Brings my monthly mileage to 145.45/150 mile goal.
