Its been a slow week for me running wise. I'm going to have to step it up this next week to hit my goal.
We have the big Illinois Marathon this weekend. I'm doing the 5k tonight. THis is the race that started it all for me over 6 years ago. My wife and I jogged/walked it first and later each kid and I would run. This year its my 11 year old son and I and and its the first year I am actually taking running serious so I am hoping for a huge PR tonight. Its going to be heck of a race, my son thinks he can take me. We'll see about that

6.15 miles today. Had to slow way down as my ankle/leg is bothering me. Probably won't hit the 100 goal, but thankful and thrilled with all I've been able to accomplish this month.0

I'm thinking I need to find a race to run.... This running is actually fun and a great stress relief. Who woulda' thunk ?

It is so exciting to see everyone getting close to their goals with 6 days left still in the month!
@peeanoe - good luck on your race today!
@Daisy471 - 14 miles is awesome! I love running near the water. It is always so refreshing and hearing the waves is great.
@_nikkiwolf_ - I know it was a couple of days ago but I loved the spring picture! We don't get a big change for the seasons and I miss that. I do get to enjoy orange blossoms and when the other trees bud out in the spring.
Went out for my last short run before the half this weekend and was surprised a bit into it when it started raining. I love running in the rain but this just made me cold and wet. I finished, faster than I had planned to run but all in all other than being cold, I felt great - ready for Sunday!

We had a great race. With over 7,000 in the 5k even a wave start was hectic. But after the first quarter mile we found our way to the front and kicked it into gear. Finished with a 24:08 and 23 in my age division.
Oh my son beat me by one second0 -

Fantastic run! It's so great you could run the whole race with him. Where did he finish in his age group?

Ran my first 5k last night, so that brings my total up to 29.6. The race was fine, but my back hurt a ton during the last half. Someone said I could have been hunching over because of the wind, and that may have been why. I thought it could be related to breathing, too.
Anyway, I finished and am resting today and going to attempt another long run tomorrow!0 -
An absolute disaster of a week. It was my birthday on Tuesday, which has meant that I've spent all week eating too much, drinking too much, hungover, dehydrated and fat. Managed a 10.5km run this morning and couldn't do anymore. I felt like there were lead weights in my stomach. Nice reminder why i try to eat healthily and go easy on the booze most of the time. Severely behihd on the challenge, unless i can get up super early tomorrow to get sonevdecent mileage in

@peeanoe good work, i hope you're feeling suitably proud of yourself. Enjoy your well earned rest day.0

75 miles again for me, but this time I'm only counting the miles I run. Walking miles are just a bonus.
4/1 - 3 miles - total: 3 miles
4/3 - 4 miles - total: 7 miles
4/6 - 7.5 miles - total 14.5 miles
4/7 - 7 miles - total 21.5 miles
4/8 - 6.2 miles - total 27.7 miles
4/9 - 4.75 miles - total 32.45
4/11 - 7.5 miles - total 39.95
Amendment: If I walk a total of less than 5 minutes out of 90, I'm not going to try to take the walk breaks back out of my mileage total.
4/12 - 4.5 miles - total 44.45
Another amendment: I can't differentiate running time and walking time when I run outdoors, so I'm counting the whole thing. I think I prefer the treadmill, overall.
4/13 - 7 miles - total 51.45
4/14 - 2 miles - total 53.45
4/15 - 2 miles - total 55.45
4/16 - 2 miles - total 57.45
4/19 - 2.5 miles - total 59.95
4/21 - 7 miles - total 66.95
4/23 - 4 miles - total 70.95
4/24 - 6.7 miles - total 77.65
