6 easy miles this morning to see what getting a few miles in the day after a long run is like. Felt fine the whole way and still feel good. I may have been able to do 8 or 10 easy but I'm resisting such temptations to add too many miles too quickly. The 18.9 miles from this weekend seems pretty big compared to my previous longest runs bein 13.1 miles.

    5/2 - 6.07 miles
    5/4 - 3 miles
    5/5 - 3.01 miles
    5/6 - 3.02 miles
    5/9 - 13.1 miles 2:37:20.4 new PR
    5/11 - 3.04 miles
    5/16 - 13.1 miles 2:53:02
    5/19 - 3.06 miles
    5/20 - 3.01 miles
    5/21 - 3.1 miles
    5/23 - 12.8 miles
    5/24 - 6.1 miles

Did my normal Sunday long run with a bigger group than usual today, including some faster folks that I ended up running with, resulting in lots of extra looping back to the main group. Ended up with 13.1 on the watch by the time I got home (1 mile to the run, 10 mile group run, 1 mile extra looping, 1 mile home after). Doing lots of biking today as well, but my pool is closed, so can't pull off an unofficial half-ironman for the day.

@SBRRepeat - Big congrads for your sprint tri result!

    5/2 - 2 miles
    5/3 - 26.2 miles (3:44 total time, 8:33 pace)
    5/7 - 6 miles
    5/9 - 4 miles
    5/10 - 12 miles
    5/12 - 4 miles
    5/13 - 5 miles
    5/14 - 4 miles
    5/15 - 3 miles
    5/16 - 5 miles
    5/18 - 12 miles
    5/19 - 7.3 miles
    5/20 - 3.5 miles
    5/21 - 8 miles
    5/22 - 6 miles
    5/24 - 13.1 miles

@isulo_kura - Still can't believe you ran in a week almost what I have run for the entire month! Blows me away!!
@skippygirlsmom - that hill looks brutal and in a 5k wow! I hope you, @Stoshew71 and @CodeMonkey78 conquer that hill and do awesome tomorrow!
@SBRRepeat - Awesome race and so great to have your dad waiting for you at the finish! Love the picture - he looks so proud!
@WhatMeRunning - Great idea to run to your dad's and really nice that he lives so close by that you can do that!
@jtarmom - Have a great time with your half!
@_nikkiwolf_ - I don't buy different brands of running socks anymore. I wear smartwool, they work for me. I have learned the hard way and spent to much money trying different ones that look interesting or promise no blisters, etc., etc.. Nope...

The pup did better yesterday at agility, not sure if he was tired from our 7 mile run in the morning or what - he ran amok his first event again and the second event he took off after the 2nd obstacle, amazingly came back to me and finished a flawless run. All the while I was thinking 'holy crap he is doing this' as I was running to keep up with him! He qualified and took 3rd in his height category. Needless to say I was SO excited! Today is a well earned rest day for both of us!

I was catching up reading blog posts today since our plans were canceled by problems at my husband's work. This is a great post from a runner I know and admire but had no idea what she had been through to get to where/what she is running today! She is pretty amazing, like several of my friends here who run through considerable pain and adversity!

@shanaber love the new profile pix - congrats! Great blog post, thanks for posting it. The race is a 10K and I drove "the hill", first half of it is tore up like they are going to pave it again, and like the article said the mile between 2 and 3 is mostly uphill, then you turn and it is steep. Afterwards most of the rest is downhill.

    @ohhim great long run

@skippygirlsmom wow! Hill? Or mountain running! Way to build endurance!

Question for the community- do you ache when you rest a few days? I haven't run since Monday and I'm so achy. It just gets worse until I swim, walk or run.

If I rest for more than 3 days it means I am either injured or just raced a marathon. But yeah, creakiness is normal even after 1 day of rest. That's why shakeout runs are popular.

@shanaber - yay Hobbes!!!! Love that picture! The blog was really amazing. What people have done to prove their doctors wrong and overcome injuries is amazing -- @codemonkey78 is another amazing example.

Good luck to @skippygirlsmom, @CodeMonkey78, and @Stoshew71 with the hill and race!

@LoneWolfRunner -- looks like you are going past your goal this month! Wtg

Flying back home tomorrow so it will be a rest day.

Just some images from this weekends trails for you. Thanks for the comments on my mileage @shanaber @JimCrackinDandy . I must admit I'm looking forward to August when I can pull it back a bit and do a bit more Hiking and running shorter distances with my Trail Hound.

74.38 as of 5/25. 75 was my goal for the month.

I have to say, I'm incredibly impressed by some of the miles people are logging. I don't know if I could ever be able to something like that. Well done everyone!

Race day! I'm running in my first proper 5k race today (though I have run an untimed 5k beer run) I'm still quite the noob at this, having just started running this month. My goal is to run at a 10 minute pace, but it's cold and rainy and I haven't run in that yet so we'll see. If nothing else, I know today will bring a new PR.

Good running to everyone else running races today!

Good luck @7lenny7 - have fun even though it is cold and rainy!
@glossberg - hang around here long enough and you will catch the running bug and become addicted too! Many of us have not been running all that long and never thought we could accomplish what we have running, yet here we are!
