Isn't it awful how doing exercise outside (walking/cycling etc) takes us onto such disgusting wildernesses, where big ugly mountains loom over us, obscuring our views of built up areas, giving us NATURE, trees, rocks, coastlines and such like? I mean how dreadful does that scenery look? I feel for you, I really do..... ;)

Out on the bike today for a 25 mile ride, having survived a ride home last night after vast quantities of limoncello (something to do with a 'Gladiator' film drinking game). Again I find myself in fantastic countryside, sights today included a steam train and a horse leaping with joy around the field.

    Cycling - 35.5/60 miles
    Walking - 46.5/40 miles
    Swim - 0/120 laps
    Stronglifts 5X5 - 4/6 times
Lindy Hop class - 1/4 times

    Total mileage - 82/100 miles.

I feel you. Corn and soybean feilds kill my patience; fortunately after ~10 miles of them I can get to small wooded areas.

yeah, I'm sorry. I drove across Queensland earlier this year and it was nothing but sugarcane interspersed with the occasional banana plantation. I understand your pain.

Here in the UK we get a bit more variety, so you don't have to go far to tick off a whole load of wildlife, agriculture and landscape features.

Planned a swim, went for a 13.5 mile bike ride with a friend after work. If anyone ever asks what daylight savings is for, it's that.

Cows, a river, a gorge, a famous bridge, old ship building works, rock climbers, walkers and cyclists.

Hey hey hey!!! I'm so slappin impressed with you guys! It's probably a good thing I'm sittin June out. I'd be choking on your dust anyway. :D

It is desperately hot down here in Cajun Country. Seriously, had to break out my gills just to breathe. But my word, the produce! Gardens are flourishing with fresh yumminess! I can't seem to find enough hunger to get it all in. And the watermelons are just heavenly... Perfect for a hot summer afternoon.

Y'all keep it up. Ima get back to my lightly salted fresh-outta-da-fridge watermelon and cantaloupe. :p

It is a little quieter than usual. Maybe folks are just too hot.

Steve, I'm so sorry for all those farming families. I grew up on a farm, it was our livelihood, so I know how a season of bad weather can be quite detrimental.

Steve, I predict you make goal by the weekend. ;)

Thanks, Hopefully... Finally got a few rides in to meet a goal. Past few months I been in this challenge I couldn't even get to the 100 mile. Been gone every weekend and not riding. In the past I was usually around 300+ miles for a month. Oh well I set my goal for the year at 1200 and I'm at 236

Most importantly I wanted too respond about the floods. I have seen a lot about them on the news. Always so sad when things like floods, tornados, etc happen. All we can do is pray for the families and help out if it is possible in some way.

WOWWWWWWWWWWWWW you guy's have done extremely well since I have been away! I did laugh out loud at the conversation between Machka and girlinahat! I LOVE THAT PHOTO. I can not think of anything more lovely and wonderful than walking, riding, jogging, running in the presence of GODS AMAZING CREATION AND BEAUTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

I DID NOT lag behind. As hot and humid as it was I did manage walks. My poor girls could only do early morning and late evening. Furry animals don't do well in HEAT. Where we were it rained every mid afternoon. The sun would come out and then it was extremely humid. Here at home (I'm told) it rained only once and has been extremely HOT.... Today is pleasant as it rained yesterday evening and is cloudy today...

HERE is the UPDATE on MY progress:

    June 17th.....3.0 Walking Miles
    June 18th.....6.0 Walking Miles
    June 19th.....6.5 Walking Miles
    June 20th.....6.0 Walking Miles
    June 21st.....6.5 Walking Miles
    June 22nd....5.0 Walking Miles
    June 23rd.....6.0 Walking Miles
June 24th.....6.0 Walking Miles (Our 43rd Wedding Anniversary)
    June 25th.....5.0 Walking Miles
    June 26th.....3.0 Walking Miles
    June 27th.....3.0 Walking Miles

    Grand TOTALS for June 27th:

    WALKING Miles.......................123.50 Miles

Did the Insane Inflatable 5K today, but my phone GPS claims 2.6 miles. It was fun but the shifting ground on the inflatable obstacles twisted my leg, so I'm going to have to take it easy for a while.

This was my first 5K, so a fun event seemed like a good idea.

Pedometer has me at 5 additional walking miles today.

    June Total: 115.4 miles
Walking: 44.3 mi (major walking days only)
    Walk/Run: 22.4 mi (Target: 25 mi)
Cycling: 49.7 mi (Target: 200 mi)

Sunday June 28th was a rest day....

    Monday June 29th:
I got in 2.50 Walking miles with my girlies.
I then had too mow the lawn. I chose too push mow the lawn instead of riding mower.
That gave me 3.0 Walking miles...Total today 5.50 miles...

    TOTALS for June 29th:
    Exercise Bike......................9.1 Miles
    WALKING Miles...................129.0 Miles

A busy weekend. Saturday saw a circular walk to find a white horse hill figure. I think the last person to walk that footpath was about the years ago. There were nettles, thistles, and horse flies. And I was wearing shorts. Which wasn't such a clever idea as Saturday evening involved a posh frock do, and there's me with scratches and welts all up my legs, itching like crazy.

Yesterday a gentle swim followed by a relieve-hangover walk around the harbourside, and then this evening a ride with a couple of friends, one showing off their new bike.

Right, nearly at the end of the month so here's my stats
    Cycling - 66/60 miles - result!!
    Walking - 62/40 miles - nailed it!!
    Swim - 12/120 laps
    Stronglifts 5X5 - 5/6 times
Lindy Hop class - 1/4 times - actually two back-to-back classes plus social dancing!!!

    Total mileage - 128/100 miles. - woohoo!!!

Now if I could just stop the itching!!!

    C25K With Dogs - Week 1 Day 1: 2.2 Miles
    Mowing: 1.2 Miles

Trying to get the dogs used to running by starting C25K over with them. Going a little faster to help develop our running ability.

Probably going to keep doing long slow runs, really need to anyway.

    June Total: 118.8 miles
Walking: 45.5 mi (major walking days only)
    Walk/Run: 24.6 mi (Target: 25 mi)
Cycling: 49.7 mi (Target: 200 mi)
