Margaret - I never knew that about the lion, either.
pip - my throat choked up as I read your poem to Kirby.
Lori from WI - happy belated birthday! Fantastic that you're no longer on the obese. What a horrible word, anyway
Yee gads, miss one day and I have over 150 posts to go thru. I'll probably just skim them
Yesterday I did 20 minutes of yoga, held my plank for 2 min 45 seconds and then took the extremeplump class for an hour. What I might do is start to go early and do abs on my own then while they're doing abs I'll stretch. Vince wanted to leave early for bowling to first go to the post office then the ATM while I took some brownies to Lynette. Went to bowling, stopped at CVS to get soda on sale, had an early dinner then went to ceramics and then mahjongg.
Today did an hour of incline intervals on the treadmill. Don't know why, but I was really sweating today. Then went to WalMart then bought gas, came home to have breakfast then went in the pool. Just went and sold Bryan's kayak. I'm so glad to get that out of the garage. Every time I'd pull into the garage it was a constant reminder of the decent person he used to be. Well, we got $600 for it. That might have been a low price since it was practically new, but that's OK. Now to sell his bike.
Making a pineapple cake for Vince since I see most of the brownies are gone. Well, I can take a piece of it to Lynette tomorrow. Vince said he needs to go to the post office anyway.
Tomorrow's plan is to go to the deep water class.
Kim - congrats on coming into the 21st century....lol No a/c
A friend at mahjongg last night works at the Hickory farmer's market and Wed. she called to tell me that this lady had golden beets so I asked her to get me two bunches of them. To be honest, I'm disappointed, the ones I get are usually sweeter. Maybe she picked them too soon, I don't know. I'll eat them, but I was expecting them to be sweeter.
Mary from MN - our town (actually, our area because technically we aren't within the city limits) recycles so much. We have one of those 55 gallon containers. They collect the gabarge once/week and the recyclables every other week. You have no idea how many times I've had to put things in my neighbor's recycling container. On the weeks when they just collect the garbage, I don't even bother to put it out. The only reason I put it out every other week is because I'm afraid it would start to smell if I waited another 2 weeks
Nancy in TX (REAL REAL BIG HUG)))) What a heartwrenching story of yours. Thank you so much for sharing it. Good for you making that decision for you! I'm proud of you Congrats for completing your goals
Jane - yea for your mom!
barabiecat - I have tons of cookbooks. Not that I use them very much, mind you.
Joyce - great finds for Trinity
Sharon - bet that water fight was lots of fun
Alison - I'm so sorry to hear of your bad news. And on your birthday no less. The exhubby or whatever he is of Jess's friend who came here to look for a place in NC had this protable dialysis machine with him. At night he would hook himself up to it and it purified his blood. Said it really helps because now he doesn't feel like he has to be in one area but can travel as long as he takes the machine with him. I agree that Pip should come over there
Mary from MN - hope you can rent, I'm sure you will be able to
I made that pineapple cake planning to take some of it to Lynette tomorrow, but it looks like we won't be going to the Post Office. The guy who Vince was going to ship some trains to just email him asking him to ship them later in the week since the guy is going away this weekend and doesn't want them sitting out.
Sylvia - a lot of people who have a bad accident get their car repaired and then sell it for the exact reason as yours.....they're afraid to drive it. So sorry to hear that the owner's father passed away. You're right, the estimate can wait. Update: in a way, it's a shame that the van wasn't totaled. Feel better fast
Lenora - hope you feel better fast. Thanks for defining that SLUTS stands for Southern Ladies Under Trememdous Stress. Hope you feel better fast
So many had such terrible relationships -- my heart bleeds for you all
MargaretTurk - you must be so so proud of your dad's acomplisments. Good for you displaying that medal. I have a display case of the medals my father got in the war
Rebel - happy birthday
Vicki - so sorry for your friend
Welcome everyone new
Sue in WA - good luck with the insurance.
pip - I'm continuing to do what I do, the same as you. Do you find that at times it can get boring, I know I do. So glad you got the courage to leave hubby #1. That must have been truly scary. I just really can't relate.
Becca - good for you with that pizza! I love salmon burgers! Sometimes they can be so high in sodium, tho. Sounds like the ones you got are very good
Lisa - You go girl! Loved reading all about your weight loss
Heather - so glad your son is coming to visit you. LOL the cheese safe....lol
I guess I'm lucky in that I don't live with a saboteur, at least I know that he doesn't do it on purpose. Like for a while there he would buy me a big bag of Dove chocolates for Christmas because he knew that I liked them. Finally, one year I just asked him not to get them for me. He does respond well if I tell him what I want, like I told him that instead of a dozen roses that die for our anniversary, I would like a dozen of Incredible Edible's roses. For those of you who don't have an IE, what it is is a strawberry cut up like a rose, a mini marshmallow in the center, lettuce leaves for the "leaves" on the stem. Jessica knows that's something that I like, a few times she's had Vince go to another town where there is an IE and get me a "bouquet". Sometimes (very seldom) Vince will stop at Dunkin Donuts, but that's very rare
tere - you really should be more careful with your elbow
katla - so sorry about your friend's husband
Carol in NC - how wonderful to see you posting!
Better post this so that I don't forget.
Michele in NC0 -

I appreciate all the comments made regarding my 'situation' ... all have helped me a lot. I guess, like in many things it helps to not feel like you are 'alone' in a situation. Thankfully, my DH of 43 years has never been abusive to me. He lets me know when he is 'stressed' and I know to leave him be for a little while. He has this sentence that he says whenever he is in a 'stressful' situation that is really sort of 'funny'; but, it took me a while before I realized that this was the case. Now when he says it 'repeatedly' I get the offending party 'out of the way' of him. When he has taken 'all' he can, he will 'blow' and I've only seen he do that a couple of times in our marriage.
I know it is difficult to clean out a parent's house to try to sell it. We were lucky that Mother's house had already been sold to the church in the next block, and they rented it back to her at a ''more than reasonable amount' until we ended up having to move her to an A.L.F. We divided up her 'things' and she got to see who got what knowing that we got what we wanted and it was fairly done. We picked on a rotating basis; and then after we had gotten what we wanted, we picked for each of our 2 children (each) for them to get the things they wanted. There were a 'few' things that Mother had wanted to go to specific items and that was not 'counted' as our turn. We''ve swapped out a few things so that one sister would have a complete set of things and/or things that we thought we wanted at first; but another sister wanted it more. So we've smoothed things about by making exchanges with one another. There has never been a disagreement between us. We've all be close even though there are 3 years between us; but, since their are 3 of us - it always seems like sometimes there are 2 against 1 (such as in politics and religion). We try to keep those 2 subjects out of conversations when we are all together. Have one BnL who likes to get a 'lively' conversation going (almost to a 'fight') and then pull out and 'watch'. We've all now know when he is doing this and the subject gets changed ... I've got to go get another glass of wine, or I've got to go to the restroom'. Usually, the conversation is changed by the time we get back and we are on a more agreeable subject.0 -
@exermom Great job with the yoga and treadmill! I bought a yoga tape years ago with some hot actress, (Im thinking it was Sophia Loren but I can't remember)...anyways, my husband came in the room with me eating a cookie in the recliner watching her do all the work! HAhahahah!0

Carol - glad things are moving along for you & that your daughter is both helpful and learning.
Becca - lemon pledge kills spiders too as does hairspray and shaving cream. DH knows that if he sees a pile of shaving cream any where he has a dead spider to flush. And in my house the only acceptable way to dispose of a spider is flushed down the toilet.
DH gave up on the pizza issue so DS asked for mcdonalds so I had the asian salad no dressing with grilled chicken. Win - win.
My right wrist flare is terribly painful so as soon as Norton is done downloading on Laptop I'm going to take my night-time medicine and hope to sleep as well as last night.
Hugs ! ! !

@terri_mom Good to KNOW!! I had a friend that let me borrow some "Freon" because her husband worked on an Navy Aircraft Carrier. I had "Lord Knows WHAT" jumping up my stairs and freaking me out while stationed in Japan. One spray and BA'AM it was frozen, and I swept it up and put it by the door to show him. All the EVIL BUGS I swear came to visit me, when he went out to sea. Like they all chimed in, "Lets go visit Rebecca, she is a hoot and screams like crazy".0

When my mother died in 1991 we moved into her house.....we put a lot of her stuff in storage to deal with later. It took me ten years to finally empty all the storage units. I kept a few things for sentimental reasons and have since gotten rid of some of those. We have moved six times since then and every move has allowed us to sort and discard more things. As much as moving is painful and traumatic, it is therapeutic because it allows the opportunity to sort and discard. Even so, we still have a lot of stuff.
I thought my first husband was a sorry excuse for a partner....I told people that he broke my heart and robbed me blind....but he was an OK guy compared to some of the stories that have been shared here.
Jake and I have been married for 26 years and he is a darling and still calls me his "bride".....I am very fortunate.

@barbiecat and @GRITSandSLUTS Sounds like you handled going thru parents items quite well. I wish my sisters and I had been. I was in California, and my Moms home was in Oregon, so when she passed, she had it in her will to let her husband, (my step-father) be able to live there for a year then it would be sold. I visited (talking a plane with 3 young sons) 2 times during that year and no one was "Ready" to go thru the house. One visit I had flown up with the boys, then my husband took off work and drove up with our van. I came out with a shoebox of stuff. So to end the story, I was home in CA, and my sister called saying that the house was being organized thru, and what did I wish. So on the phone, I had to mentally go thru my Mom's home, which ended up being pointless, and I said, "Just put in a box what you think I would want". So I got a box, while my sisters rec'd whole rooms full of antique furniture. Then the topping of the cake came when they divey'ed out the funds for selling the home. Each of us rec'd 64k for which I deposited and paid off some bills etc. It was a bittersweet thing, but the bitter part was my check bounced because when I added up all the fee's etc it came to more than the total of all our checks...so when MY check came there wasn't 64K to start with. The overdraft charges were mounting up, and totaled $200 which my step-father paid. I have always thought I rec'd the short end of the stick for so many things. A great therapy session for sure.... One of these days I shall get my sisters together for a weekend retreat and when we are half way thru a bottle of wine, I will vent. Vent politely, but still vent.0

Carol, so nice to hear you sounding so good and your recovery is going okay.
Having a down day regrouping after the revolving door of immediate family coming and going. Spent the last few days dorm shopping with DS, making 2 trips to the airport for DD for 11 pm departures/arrivals, working through our budget , hubby's out of town till late Thursday, and need to do laundry and pack for Vegas tomorrow.
Dinner is made. Got in 4500 steps! Just grocery shopping left and then I'm going to bed.

I was my husbands caregiver during his liver transplant, so I empathize with you on the yearly checkup days. He is down to every couple of months into the city where he had the transplant (4 hr total drive) and once a month for blood work. I was so bossy, but you have to be, to ask the questions and speak on behalf of your husband.0 -
Thank you all for the warm welcome. Day 4 and still going strong and still happy with my choice to start the Myfitnesspal journey.
Yanniejannie- No the horses are not mine just a pic I love. Oh how I wish they were though...0 -
@CKC1964 Welcome to this amazing site! I personally have adopted all these ladies as my "sister-in-hearts" but they don't know it yet... PAPERWORK arriving shorting.....do not just mark an X and a heart now. Oh you can vent here too.....I do. They tolerate it, and they tell me to just lug the bag of S & W (stress and worry) and deposit it in the white part of the screen. Can you just see them all piled up. Some of the bags have flowers planted in them...(the green thumbs of the group I imagine)....and others have theirs stacked all neatly (ok no dusting of the S & W bags...thats just nuts)....how can I write "Becca by the Beach Rocks" on them if ya do?0

ok girls...I was four pages in and lost the computer so I 'm going to post what I had written before I went down. Sorry I'm missing most of you! Take care, Meg from Omaha
Hi gang. I spent the entire day chained to my computer at work and didn’t get up and move around like I should have but I did get a walk in when I got home. My sink and faucet got ordered today so hopefully that will be in before expected….5 weeks. What kind of sink takes 5 weeks to get? Sheesh!
We are seeing a lot of haze in the air due to the Canadian fires, believe it or not. We were supposed to get rain, but none showed up. It was warm and cloudy so not a bad day.
Mia keep up the good work!
GRIT: all that family drama is exhausting, isn’t it? I do agree with Nancy, take your self out of the middle
Annr: I have never bought a frozen pizza; how was it? Good job with restraint!
Nancy great job on the exercise!
Sylvia; sounds like you had a great time with the grands!
Miriam: if you ever have time for a stop when you are driving through ,let me know!
Barbie: beautirful pic!
Alison: happy birthday; I wrote that before reading about your kidneys. OMG I am so sorry and also sorry for hubby’s response. Are you interested in a transplant? My heart goes out to you and I know you must be so stressed. Add me to the group who is not happy with your hubby
JanetM: where do you work?
Joyce: sounds like you got some good buys!
Kate; it is so cool to know someone who actually tats these days….such a lost talent.
Tina: happy you had a great vacation!
Lhannon: congrats on making such great changes in your life
Heather: so exciting your DS is coming even though it will be some work for you
That's as far as I got!0 -

Love it! I a have to admit it I am in the flower group! Although composting some this is not a bad idea either.

Call me crazy but I love to see other people happy and succeeding .
Good Evening Ladies,
Allison, so sorry to hear your news. Had you been diagnosed with renal failure prior to this? At least there are options for treatment. You know we are all with you and maybe you can just ignore H (without any D) in the meantime. *shakin’ head*
Tina, glad you had a good trip. Will look forward to your pictures.
Lisa, great job in your first three months, of the rest of your life. Just keep it up and don’t think about what that skinny *kitten* hubby of yours weight. Lol
Heather, too funny about your DGS wanting you to take your shoes off to enter his room. My DH is out grocery shopping now too. I love that he does that. When we were first married, we often shopped together. I can’t even remember how many years ago he took it over for me.
NMMargaret, so glad your mom liked her clothes. You are a good daughter!! I like you, can usually go to the bathroom, so that one would work for me, too.
Pip, at least #3 and #4 were the charms. So glad you found the good guys.
Terri, glad you lost that 2 lbs you found recently. I like your “how we met” story. Also like your horse sign. OMG, your divorce story is a hoot!! I’m sure it wasn’t back then.
Katla, I hate that your saddle sores aren’t healed. At least you have a little break from the horse and I agree that a bike would not be a good idea.
Mia, you will get it done. I’m the world’s laziest person and using the 15 minute plan, I got through a big cleaning/decluttering project. Sometimes I would spend an additional 10 minutes to finish something, but it was because I wanted to. I thought it would take weeks longer than it did. Just keep moving ahead.
Dana, thanks for sharing. How old are your 6 now? We don’t ever expect anyone to keep up and/or respond to everyone. It is whatever works for you. We are glad you joined us.
Heather, on the cheese. Laffin’ that your DH is getting a cheese safe.
Peach, that is an amazing story about your parents. Like you say, ya just never know.
Chris, you have my prayers and hope that whatever is going on will improve. (((Hugs)))
Terri, you are so right that, “we are in this together” and I think we all have each other’s backs. We joke about watching one another in what we eat and do, but I do often think of you watching as I make choices and it helps. Last night at Moose I really thought about ordering something with way too many calories…then I thought, “what if my friends from my Phat Chat could see me now”. I decided to order what I knew I should eat. Thank you all.
Allison, I’m so glad you are going to get away and get to see your cousins. Have fun with your mini and enjoy yourself. Glad DH is at least trying to “suck up” a little. We love you dearly. (((Hugs)))
Carol, soooo glad to hear from you. We have missed you! I’m glad the surgery is over and the pain is bearable. Gosh they come up with cool new things all the time. I hope you’ll be able to visit more often but just know we are thinking about you and glad you are on the mend.
Sylvia, did you contact the other driver’s insurance company? I always call them even before their insured does. Hopefully you will get the go ahead for repairs soon. When you talk to them, just tell them if you need a larger vehicle. They can get you a van or at least a SUV. It’s usually not a problem. Sorry to hear you had to go through abuse, too. So sad that so many of you had to endure that.
NMMargaret, listening to you say “Ohmmmmmmm” is so soothing.
Michele NC, glad you sold Brian’s canoe. Now I’ll keep fingers crossed for the bike to go. Too bad the beets weren’t as sweet as you had expected.
Barbie, I like to move just for the opportunity to sort and discard. I don’t know what I’ll do if we stay in this house for a number of years.
Pat, so happy that DH got a good checkup. Also happy for you to be married to a good guy.
I cannot believe another month has gone already. I'll have to evaluate the month and come up with goals for July. I hope you all have a wonderful month ahead. See ya on the lighter side.
Words I live by:
Savor. I have to slow down and savor every bite.
and
Opportunity. Each day offers new opportunities for good health and happiness if we just look for them and choose them.
I Love you,
DJ

That is indeed good news. So glad he is your "bestest guy". Days like that are very tiring tho. Glad its behind you.0 -
It is difficult to take oneself 'out of the drama' when it is brought to me in the first place. Sometimes it is almost like seeing the ups and downs I went through (just not nearly as bad) and know that there is nothing I can do or say that helps. One day, if she doesn't get a 'grip' - she might find herself in a position that will not be pleasant. I just hate it for my DOS and the DGDs ... it is going to be harder on them. It's like looking into a 'foggy' mirror, see those things I wasn't all that happy about in myself, in her. Yet, no real progress in any changes. I've got tired of trying to conform to something I do not want to conform to. Yes, family dynamics are difficult.
We had a very good and funny 3+ hour visit from the 2 oldest DGDs ... they are leaving for the beach tomorrow. I don't think I have laughed so hard than we did tonight. DH was 'in the middle' of it; and he'd look at me with his eyes crossed and making the sign for 'flapping jaws'. One story, begot another and then interruptions by both. Poor dog was outside the entire time waiting for them to come out. She whined for a little while and then just sat patiently. She loves the oldest DGD and really has 'separation anxiety' when she comes home from school. She is taller when she stands up on her hinds legs and jumps up on her shoulders; she almost knocks her down. When they went out tonight, she was 'so excited' when she finally got to see her 'mama'. DGD tells her Daddy that the 'dog' loves her more than she (dog) loves him. She rarely shows this much excitement with him. Of course, he relationship is more of hunter 'trying' to train a 'hunting' dog; when girls have made her a pet (so to speak). He'll never actually hunt her because he doesn't hunt that particular game.
DGD says she is going to apply for being able to have a dog in her apartment stating 'separation anxiety' like some of the other students have said they have done in order to be able to have pets. She's kenneled trained and I really think it could be good for her - since she is such a 'worry-wart'; but, I doubt her Daddy would agree to let her take her. We call her "Devil Dog"; because as soon as they let her out, she comes down here, eats our cat's food, drink's his water; but, he doesn't chase him or pose any danger to him. However when my DYS comes home with his 2 dogs (he goes into the 'kitty hotel' - my art studio) and then the dogs get put up, so he can have a small vacation from the kitty hotel. He sits up in the window and looks down on them, in the A/C and music playing all the time. It is almost like he makes the best out of what could be a 'deadly' encounter. He gets a chance to 'hunt' for a while when the dogs are kenneled.0 -

Hello and welcome. We are a terrific supportive group of ladies. If you would like, tell us a little about yourself, where you live, what your goals are, etc. Also if you sign a name you would like us to use at the end of each post, it will make it easier to identify you.
Come often, join in as you feel comfortable.0 -
Yesterday was a day! I opened my calendar and flipped to Monday at 7:45am as I was leaving to teach the first day of candy class to find that I had scheduled and forgotten my Gourmet Group at my house for that night! UGHHHHH 1st call to the cleaning lady, she could clean from 4-6 (company shows at 6:30) ok, then off to camp, thinking the whole time what will I serve???? I only had to do the main course, someone else was assigned appetizer, salad, and dessert, as well as wine… So decided on salmon with mesquite rub and caramelized veggies wrapped in philo dough, snow peas (what is it that Heather calls them mange?) and sliced heirloom tomatoes with a bit of balsamic vinegar drizzle… camp over by 12:30 out of the grocery store and home by 1:50pm the backyard swept, table set and all ready by 6:30… they left at 11pm I dropped into bed and was up at 5:30 to walk Levi and do camp again today… It was 102 degrees out today and at 9:30pm is only down to 84 --- it is too be hot tomorrow too… Lots of fans going.
Mary – congrats!! Glad you are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel
Pip – the poetry is so touching – so glad you left hub #1
Nancy – you are so strong! Many of us are domestic violence survivors, your situation was far worse than mine. Thank you for trusting to share. ***Later*** so good at doing your “make up exercising” made me think of make up work from school – got a great smile.
Cynthia – what a great bread surprise and a good compromise!
Mia – great job!!! I am not a “keeper” but do get so busy that I pile, and always feel better when the pile is gone.
Yvonne – good job on going out on your own
Margaret – what a great idea on mounting a metal!
Renny – Happy Birthday!!!!!
Heather – great picture of the restaurant – hope you are doing ok with eating control.
Alison – Happy Birthday!!!!
GRITS – This!!!!!!” GRITS - You can do an online search and find lots of info. about Parental Alienation. In the early to mid 1990's it wasn't known. In more recent years the Mental Health & Counseling Professionals have defined it and thoroughly researched it.
Sorry to hear about the difficult family dynamics. Suggest you take yourself out of the middle. For instance, when DnL instructs you to go tell DH something, you can politely let her know that she needs to communicate her thoughts and feelings directly to him. Caution: People do not like it when the dynamics and your role changes.
One tool that someone passed along when I was dealing with a similar situation, was to write out a very short script of what I wanted to say. That way, I wasn't tongue tied or fumbling for words when I had to communicate boundaries to my daughter. She threw an absolute fit, but I held firm and merely repeated my short phrases. After 3 times of saying it, I told her in a business-like manner that we needed to end the conversation on that topic. Said I was going in the kitchen to finish the dishes (or whatever). Then, I calmly walked away and did just that.
You no longer have to be caught in the middle. You have a right to determine what you will and will not do. You can set boundaries and hold firm. It may not be easy, but is worth it in the long run.
Good luck to you! - Nancy in FW, TX”
Changing reactions really works – it is really hard! But it really pays off!!!
Becca – I have learned to NEVER have pizza without a huge salad, then I can stick to 1 or 2 slices..otherwise I’m a goner!
Barbie – good job on the cleaning out… and a great picture… water!!! wish it was here.
Sharon – I don’t keep up well either, just connect when you can! Good for you to continue to go to counseling, an anyone who would call their wife a ***** is an a DH and the d is not for Darling…. GRRRRR
Alison – I so want to choke him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pip watch out I may get to him first! I hope the Dr. can shed some light on what is next… my heart is with you.
Tere – Happy dance on the NSV
Terri – great how you met story, does greg still own Shorty’s? Great story on leave dh#1!!!
Dana – that is a busy life!
Janetr – you make really good observations… I’ll read a post then read yours and think ok, my response is already there, just with the wrong profile pic! LOL
June goals:
Walk every day 180 miles for the month (in May I did 175… thought maybe a higher goal would be good)
NEW – 1 plank every day – and log them here – 19
Log everyday
Eat slower
do 2 fun things every week -
week 1 – no traditional fun – but working hard to get all embroidery jobs done, clean up clutter inside and out, so that my doggy sitter will not have that to deal with, and the house will look nice when I get home.
Week 2 – Seattle seeing my Godson graduate from college
Week 3 – taught Intermediate baking camp every morning, and beginning baking every afternoon.

Today at work: gay marriage follow-up.
http://www.dailyjournal.net/view/story/2479d707bb3e44a1832a06ae03f869f7/LA--Gay-Marriage-Louisiana
I called some two dozen or so clerks of court around the state, and found a new way to get in steps. As soon as I'd dialed the phone I'd stand up and start walking in place. When I'd explained who I and what I was doing (sometimes to two people) I'd sit down to take notes.
I succumbed to a Kind chocolate-and-dark-cherries bar. Almost sent me over, even though I ate only half of everything at a Middle Eastern restaurant.
Joyce, lovely birthday gift for Trinity! I couldn't have resisted a second at $7, either.
Sharon - best of luck w/ the counseling.
Allison - oh, gee. I'm so sorry to hear about the kidney disease, and just as sorry about your husband's reaction. I do hope your birthday got better. It'd be hard for it to start worse. <<<HUGS>>>
<later> Sounds like it did get better. And well done on the small sliver of spice cake!
Kate - I was wondering if you'd be willing to sell a dragon if you made two. Handcrafts are not my forte. I tried knitting a scarf once and wound up with a pennant, wide at the start and narrowing to a point.
Mary in MN - Good way to look at it.
JanetR - to track my morning steps, I put the fitbit into a ziploc, fold the bag over a time or so, and use a hair tie to hold the bag around my ankle. That way it also tracks hair-combing steps and such. My hair's long enough that I use both hands, and the fitbit usually counts by arm movements.
"two more times, but great guys." Huzza!!
Tina in MD - awesome vacation!
Lisa - Great plan on the house. and HUZZA!!!!! for your great weight loss.
Cheri - I've had double-posting problems the past few days, but figured it was my trackball. Maybe not, then. Deletion is possible.
Heather - Have a great time with your friend and elder son, hard work though he be.
Several people ... I just told Larry that the more I hear about some of y'all's husbands and exes, the more I appreciate him. Sure, he can be a pain in the bntt, but so can I.
Terri in WS - Yay on dropping the water, and the bike. And what a great blind date story.
Sorry to hear about your wrist.
Katla - sorry the saddle sores are taking so long.
Dana in IND - your job sounds great! I went to IU, 4 decades ago.
Vicki - good loss! My scale only goes by half-pounds.
Chris - I'm so glad the time w/ your mom went well. Mine was ... difficult, so I undertand how good it feels when it isn't.
And yeah, too many healthy snacks aren't good.
Sending good thoughts your way for the coming couple weeks.
NC Carol - glad the post-surgery's going well. AND the your daughter's revelation about cooking wisely.
Sylvia - weird, about no citation.
Let us know about the tummy pains. And I can see why you're worried. Larry had a blockage once and spent a week in the hospital.
Becca - how are the swimming cals measured? And the speed? If your friend's much taller or bigger than you, that might have something to do w/ it. JanetR explained it better.
Yeah, salmon's great food. Tasty, too. But because it's a big fish that eats lotsa little fish and there's mercury in the water these days, can't eat it for every meal.
loralou - plateaus happen. Just keep eating fewer calories than you use, and you'll lose weight. Have you noticed any non-scale differences? Pants looser, maybe?
patceoh - glad your husband's doign well.
Meg Blair - I work for The Associated Press in New Orleans. Our office is across from the Superdome. If you see (AP) or "Associated Press" on a news article, it's by (or at least edited by) one of my colleagues around the world. The AP's a member-owned news co-op and the world's largest news agency. Mark Twain wrote, "There are only two forces that can carry light to all the corners of the globe... the sun in the heavens and the Associated Press down here."
