5'9" women, what is your goal weight?

I don't know what my actual goal is. I'm more focused on feeling better about myself and being healthier than on a particular #. I also go by clothing size. I'm already a rather small clothing size (size 2) but I have lots of flab and need to tone. Hard to believe but it's true. I have terrible eating habits which I am trying to correct soon. So for you guys out there with similar stature, if you had to pick a number goal weight what would that number be for you, personally? :)

I'm 5'8", but my build sounds different than yours - larger. My goal is 135-140 lbs which would put me at a size 10 to 8. I look pretty good at that size. I don't think I could physically get into a size 2 no matter what I lost because I have a broad build for a girl (dad played pro football as a defenisve tackle).

Size 2 is pretty small for 5'9". I would consider a good exercise and weight lifting program to build lean muscle to replace any flab. If you build muscle and don't worry about losing, I bet you would look fantastic!

If you do that, make sure you are eating plenty of protein so you don't end up burning muscles when you work out.

Size 2?! What do you weigh? Egads, I'm not even dreaming of size 2.

I'm a little under 5'9", with smaller bones. I'm thinking somewhere between 125 and 135 when I'm done. I can see forty more pounds coming off. I'm bouncing between 165 and 170 right now and wearing 12s (Ms and Ls) comfortably, so I don't think I'll be anywhere near a 2.

I started in size 3X and 24 solidly, so even where I am makes me happy. I don't care how low I go, size-wise.

If you're in a 2 and think you're "flabby" try lifting weights or something. You don't need to lose weight.

I'm 5'9" and am currently at 150 after putting on some office weight. I'm hoping to get back down to 135. That would put me at size 0 (for reference). I'm currently a size 4.

I'm 5 9.5 I have been as low as 155 (barely ate anything due to add medications) and felt too thin. I'm happiest at 180 so I can keep the boobs and but butt have a trim waist. I couldn't imagine weighing 140 but everyone feels comfortable at a different weight.

I'm 5'9 and I want to get back down to 155. Any less and I wouldn't look healthy.

I am 5'7 and have never been a size 2. I want to get back down to 135 which would bring me to a size 4 or 6. The smallest I have ever been is a size 4. Currently I am barely a size 10.

I'm 5'9" and I plan to transition to maintenance when I hit around 145lbs. That will probably put me in a size 8/10?

Im 5'8,135lbs, size 4. If you dont need to lose alot of weight , but want a toned look then start a lifting program. Google nrol or stronglifts.

I'm 5'9" 128ish now size 5-7 with wide bony hips- it would pretty much e impossible for me to go below a 3 I think. I don't really have a 'goal weight'- I just want to get rid of thigh fat.

I'm 5'9" and I would like to get down to 155. I'm currently a little over 160. I mostly want to tighten up. I don't think I have even been a size 2.

I'm 5'8" and I don't think I could get into a size 2 when I was 10 years old! I wore a size 14 at 120 lbs (think Twiggy in a cinch belt) and a size 14 when I was 145 lbs. Believe me, I looked and felt a whole lot better at 145 lbs. You need weight training to bulk up the muscles some and lose the flab, not to lose weight.

My goal weight, where I look & feel my best, is 155. That puts me in a size 6/8. Hope to be there again soon! : )

Wow...I feel good...not! My goal is to get to 200 pounds. I'm 283 right now and I have a very large bone structure. I'm a size 22 right now, I'd be happy just to get to a size 14-16. *sigh*

    I'm 5'8.5" and currently around 150 (size 8). I think I look best at around 140, which is a size 6 (or occasionally a 4) for me.

I'm 5'8 and at maintenance around 160lbs which makes me a size 4-8 US (8 -12 UK), dependent on brand and I love my body now

weight means nothing, I clearly scale weight much more than many here ... but my body is tight and taut cos muscles ... it's how you feel and look

I'm 5'9" and 128lbs, but my bodyfat ratio is outta control. I don't care what number I reach so long as I can cut the jiggle and get some muscle definition.

and once again proof that scale weight means diddly squat and it's all about the body composition

I am 5'10" and my goal weight is 150 lbs. Even in high school when I was 130 I wore a size 8, so much about how clothing fits is how you are built (and how much muscle you carry around).

Wow, we are all over the place. I am 5'9" with a medium size frame. I wear a size14 jeans and large/xlarge tops. I am 215 lbs right now...I literally just weighed. My goal is 175, which is my happy place and puts me comfortably in a size 8 jean and medium top. Any lower than that and I will just look sick. I haven't been a size 2 since the 4th grade.

I'm 5'8" and 126, but wear anything from a US 4 to 8, depending on brand. I will never get to a smaller size than a 4 no matter my weight because I have stupid short torso, no waist to speak of and 'child bearing' hips. I hear burlap sacks are primed for a comeback.

Wow.. I'm 5'8 @331lbs right now and would just be happy to get to 250. I have a large bone structure though and look sickly at 200. I couldn't even imagine less than 200. :(

I'm 5'10, and I was 234 when I started. I'm 222 now after 20 days, and my goal weight, where I feel the healthiest, is around 150, at a size ten. I went down to a size 5 once in my life, but with my wide hips and shoulder, I looked emaciated. 10 is a good size for me. To everyone starting from a higher weight, go you! Seriously, you are starting on a journey that will make you feel better physically and mentally. Don't be discouraged by numbers. Just keep going - you can do it!
