    This sounds good! I joined MFP a few weeks ago but started really tracking my food, drink and exercise today! So I'm in and hope I can stick to it!

    I would like to join this challenge also. I am a little late because Monday I had no internet access but Monday is generally my weigh in day so this will work out great.

    Count me amongst the late ones! My starting weight is from yesterday so no harm done...

    Since I usually lose about a pound a week this will push me to add in one more over the next five weeks!

    Hi Heidi,

    Im back for at least a bit. My 5/30 weight will have to be my pre-surgery weight 154.5 and we'll see if I can get on a scale by next Monday. Glad your back on top of things!!!!

    Hey Everyone! So here we go! The Personal Independence Day Challenge is underway!

    Here is the compiled list of everyone participating so far. We will most likely gain a few more and lose a few over the next 5 weeks, I hope we gain more than we lose (people that is, :laugh: not lbs!) of the 55 peeps that have posted their starting weight we are looking to lost 489lbs. as a group!

    I challenge you all to stick with it, whether you gain or lose come back and post your weight, know that we are all here for you. And remember that this is not an easy process, I've struggled with my weight my entire life as I'm sure most of you will relate to, so don't get discouraged if it doesn't happen overnight or even over these 5 weeks. You certainly didn't gain the weight overnight. Plus you are hopefully changing habits and lifestyles so when the weight comes off it stays off. Good luck everyone! Please check in through out the week, tell us what you are doing to change your life! Share your ideas, give advice, and encouragement! But don't forget, Mondays will come fast, don't forget to weigh in and as a reminder this is what your post should look like next Monday (with your own info of course :tongue: ) :

    Im assuming we are always weighing in on mondays? I'll just make this weeks goal slightly less than normal.. Ummm. Is that ok..

    So as of this morning I am at 150.5 and that is only 2.5 pounds from the goal I set...So I am going to set a new goal of 146 today for this challenge. That said, I am changing my MFP goal as well.
