Any tips to help me ignore the good things in life - beer and chocolate?

Can't say I crave either but since I was told not to drink anything I find I miss having a glass of something once or twice a month if at all most months, odd not having something when you can is fine when you can't it is annoying. So if you can fit them in then do so, as one bad day will not kill you just don't over do the bad days. Just kept thing mixed up, over do the exercise one day, over eat another, it is the average deficit that will lose the weight it does not have to be a fix constant it is just simpler to work out as a constant.0

Weight loss begins in the grocery store.
If you don't buy it, you won't eat (or drink) it.0 -
Yeah - energy and muscles (along with the occasional beer and chocolate) I like beer but now I only waste the calories on a damn good beer enjoyed slowly.0

I've a weak spot for these.....help!!!!
It's about learning to make choices and stick to them. If you are afraid that you can't make the choice to stop at one beer, only buy one beer for that day. Only buy one serving of chocolate, when you have the room in your calorie deficit that day.
When you plan for it (say Friday night is coming up) and you know you want to have more than one, make room for those beers. have a few days in a row when your calories are shorter than your normal deficit. Then on Friday you can have several beers, because your weekly calorie budget allows for them. Planning ahead makes a lot of difference, and will relieve a lot of the stress you would normally feel about indulging in something that you enjoy.0 -

When I got rid of all my junk food, my chocolate stayed! Learn to enjoy them slowly - have one beer and really savor it, two squares of chocolate eaten over the course of several minutes. Not sure what your past has been, but for someone like me who has a problem with shoving food in my mouth at a rapid pace, learning to really savor good food has been very important.0

I'd still rather have a small serving whenever I wanted it, making it fit into my calorie goals, than deprive myself.0

I used to be in the camp where if I had chocolate, crisps, biscuits etc in the house, I would eat all of it in a huge binge so stopped the temptation by just not buying them. Since I have been logging regularly, I have re-introduced my treats back into the house but have better willpower now because I can quickly see the numbers jump up on my consumed calories for the day.0

I typically have one good beer per night. I really enjoy tasting and exploring beer. I log each one on Untappd and make sure to drink it slowly enough to let the flavors and aromas evolve as it warms up. I exercise enough to earn it each day.0

You an make it work without being deprived.0 -
Chocolate with 70%+ cocoa has health benefits. Get individually wrapped squares if available in your store. Mine discontinued them so now I buy a large bar and eat 1 square at a time (no more than 1 per day). Double chocolate chunk Quest bars, briefly warmed in microwave also do the trick, dark choc & sea salt Kind bars, and chocolate protein shakes are other satisfiers.
