7/1 - 3.3 miles - usually my rest day, but keeping my streak alive (3 more days!)
7/2 - 4.6 miles while eating lots of breakfast gnats yuck!
7/3 - 2.3 miles - short run today - took a new running partner who hasn't run in a while. She did great! It was cooler and raining.
7/4 - 6.2 miles - last day of my Memorial Day to 4th of July 41 Days of Awesome running challenge.
7/5 - rest day and travel to El Paso ugh what a trip
7/6 - 2.5 horrible dreadmill miles
7/7 - 4.2 miles and 2.25 - went and ran where my boss told me. It was beautiful. It was like 90 and no shade during the run and my breathing is taking a beating, but it was worth to 30 min drive to get there.
7/8 - 5.5 miles
7/9 - 3.7 miles
7/10 rest day
7/11 - 3.1 miles Strong Girls 5K run today.
7/12 - 5.6 miles - HOT HOT HOT
7/13 - 3.5 quick miles - working with the big boss today so I had to be in when he got in.
7/14 - rest day
7/15 - 4.3 miles
7/16 - 5 miles
7/17 - 3.4 miles
7/18 - 1.6 miles just to move - 2 miles after walking with Macy.
7/19 - 7.3 miles
7/20 - 3.4 mile recovery run with Skip (so glad my girl is home!) While she was at soccer camp she was put on lock down during the shootings in TN (camp was nearby). Nothing like getting a text when I have no internet service and had NO idea what was going on, that says "Mommy we are on lock down in our dorm rooms and I'm all alone in my room". I told her to text a friend to see if they were in their room and tell them getting ready she's running to their room so she wouldn't be alone.
7/21 - 5.5 miles
7/22 - rest day
7/23 - 4.4 miles
81.6 of 100 miles
Ticker won't work - 18.4 miles left0 -
@ddmom0811 I rarely give up my secrets - BUT - since you have admitted you are a Sports Beans user, I should tell you that you can get 3oz packages of "Irregular" sports beans on eBay for $1.45 or less per package. I have a basket full of these that I've been eating away on for the past 6 months. Depending on where you shop, that's at least half off the 'running store' price. This is all I use on my runs. I love the fact that I can control my intake so precisely and so consistently. I feel "level" rather than the ups and downs that I get with those Gu packages. Plus I always feel like a toddler when I'm done having a Gu - with sticky stuff all over my face and hands.
July 1 - rest
July 2 - 3.75 run/walk combo
July 3 - 5 miles
July 4 - 5.76 miles
July 5 - walked 5 miles in morning to scout out a place to do long run. Then walked another 6 all around the city.
July 6 - rest
July 7 - 8.6 - fun run to Roosevelt Island and then around the island. Weather is great for me!
July 8 - 4.1 miles
July 9 - 3.51 miles - last run with daughter until HM in October.
July 10 - 5.2 miles in the hills of Virginia.
July 11 - 3.5
July 12 - 4.3 very slow miles
July 13 - rest
July 14 - 9.26 miles
July 15- rest day - driving back to FL day.
July 16 - strength training
July 17 - 5.62 - back in the Florida heat! Wasn’t as bad as I imagined it would be.
July 18 - 34 mile bike ride
July 19 - 41 mile bike ride
July 20 - 3.26 miles + cycling indoor (FTP)
July 21 - strength training
July 22 - 10.21 miles!!! New longest run! It was quite slow (11-12+ min miles) but I don’t care. I’m working on distance and speed will come later.
July 23 - cycling class — Tabatas - 1 hour class, went 20 miles. Wow, this was intense. If you are also a cyclist, I recommend it!

@skippygirlsmom OMG! I guess I missed the lock down. So scary! Glad all's well!0 -

Short and slow run today, taking it a little easy. 1.5 miles tonight, for a total of 31.25 miles out of 35. Another weekend at grandpa's place, so probably lazy for the most part.0
-
So many great things going on here, very inspiring!
Finally got back out on the trails today. Humidity really messed with my asthma, but still enjoyed being back where I belong. 3.5 today. 66.9/80. Rest day tomorrow and for once I'm looking forward to it.
Found this aku
Skunk tail with no body or signs of struggle in sight. Trail mystery.0 -
@melaniefave41 The skunk tail is total odd-ness! The Aku tree is beautiful!0

Sucked it up today and did my speedwork this afternoon, but decided to go for faster/shorter intervals (5x400s) vs. the longer 3-4 miles of fast running in my prior sessions (6x800s, 0.25-1-0.25 pyramids) as it would help avoid the mid-summer Florida heatstroke. Wasn't sure what to do for pace, as I was doing 6 min/mile 400s a month back up north, but I've been getting faster so settled in at 5:45/mile pace for my 400 repeats. Looking at my HR data, I was at max for a fair bit of it, but didn't pass out, so I guess I'm ok with where things landed. Looking forward to running again up north this weekend.

@melaniefave41 How's the foot?
Forgot I had to run back to get the truck. Oops. 34km today - I've not run this much in one day since I last trained for a marathon 18 years ago. I feel surprisingly good, probably because I'm doing a better job (debatable) of building a base now that I'm old and decrepit than when I was younger and supposedly indestructible.+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Month to date: 233.94 km Goal: 200.00 km / 124 miles (116% completed) Stretch Goal: 242.00 km / 150 miles (96% completed) +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Thu Jul 23 33.93 (27.89 km + 6.04) City seawall and streets, pining for the trails... snip...

Hi! I've decided to join MFP only since Tuesday and now I've discovered this thread. Since July is ending, it's too late to tell about a monthly goal, so I am here only with the purpose of presentation.
For anyone who desires to follow me, here there's my Strava's page: https://www.strava.com/athletes/10284313
I'm a long distance runner from Italy, currently doing 50-60 mpw, chasing for a sub-80' PB on half marathon next autumn.
Keep on running!0 -
6.3 miles this morning. Tickerfactory still a bit wonky - 83 out of 100 miles done0

4.4. Tickerfactory isn't letting me update, but that gets me to 77.4 of 100!0

Seeing my 8 weeks old baby coming out of anesthesia was the most nerve wrecking experience I have yet to have. Thankfully, this was done at John Hopkins Hospital, which is the top facility in the country (or maybe in the world?). We are home and doing well, she is all smiles today as we celebrate her being 2 months old!
I know I will receive a lot of kind words from many of you, as this group has been extremely supportive and encouraging. So big thank you in advance.
I was able to run this morning! First run in a long time that my mind and my heart were worry free
7/22 = 5 miles. This was a great run! The weather was just perfect and I my baby was peacefully sleeping in her own bed.
Best wishes and quick recovery for your girl! My little once had a surgery when he was 5 months old. I still remember all those terrifying thoughts and feelings...0 -
3 more miles early this morning before going to the airport. Off to South Dakota and hopefully some cooler or at least less humid weather.
