I don't think this is a binary issue where all cheaters are alike in their infidelity and all non cheaters are alike in their loyalty. I tend to see this as more of a spectrum and everyone falls somewhere between Mother Theresa and Charlie Sheen. We're all human, and all CAPABLE of cheating. Some of us never do cheat, some of us have maybe cheated once during a time of weakness, blah blah blah, and then some of us think nothing at all of cheating every chance we get.

IMO, this issue, like just about every other issue in life is not necessarily black and white.

Does cocaine have to be involved to reach the Charlie Sheen level tho?

Whenever I pet/play with other animals I feel like I'm cheating on my cat. Does that count?

this is my situation too.

I am not proud of what I did. Not at all.
I regret it immensely.
If I had to do it again, I would have ended the relationship first.

But it made it possible for me to move out of something that was not good, and prepared me for something amazing. It also removed my holier-than-thou judgement goggles and humbled me. I realized that I was not bulletproof, nor was I any better than the next person.

I also realized that redemption is available. That once a cheater - NOT always a cheater.
Even though I chose poorly before, it does not make me a write off, doomed to be single forever.

cheating is a difficult issue to wrassel with IMO

abuse, video games and gambling are not sexual infidelity... so no, it's not cheating to do any of those things.
