    New 12 week weight loss challenge

    28th September until 17th December 2015


    Age: 69
    Start weight: 168lbs
    Week 4 weight goal: 164lbs
    Week 8 weight goal: 160 lbs
    Week 12 weight goal: 156lbs
    Weigh in on Monday each week

    Start: 28/09: 168
    Week 1: 03/09: 167
    Week 2: 10/10: 167
    Week 3: 17/10: 166
    Week 4: 24/10: 166

    I am plateauing again. Weight loss is so unpredictable.

    The thing I did yesterday was to exceed my daily steps by 2732, that was an extra mile. Also stayed within my Basic calorie allowance.

    The things I did to lose today: I really didn't want to leave the house to go walking today because I had spent the day working very hard and hadn't sat down but somehow I mustered up the motivation and went anyway and when I had done my walk and got back to the entrance to my house I decided it wasn't long enough so I did the route a second time!!! Did those killer squats too

    I've been plateauing for a year now; I lost 10 kg before that and then been stable. It's now or never (and I don't like the "never" option).

    Do not give yourself any outs

    There are a few classics, like “If I don’t exercise at lunchtime, I’ll do it tonight” or “I’ll have ice cream today and get my diet back on track tomorrow.” Any sort of procrastination and deviation runs the risk of bumping you off course. Don’t give yourself an out, and stick to the path that leads to your goal.

    Yesterday was pretty much the same for me aside from being under my calorie goal and exceeding my step goal by the steps it took me to walk around the house before bed I did nothing!! I'm normally up around 15,000 to 20,000 steps and do a workout in the evenings but yesterday I found excuses "MIL is staying so need to do x,y and z around the house... And its lightly misting now I can't go walking" I'm disappointed in myself I'm normally so good.

    Got to goal weight 4 years ago, maintained for 2 years but have been putting weight on slowly over the last 2 years which I need to stop now before I put back the whole 3.5 stone that I worked hard to lose. I run regularly and do pilates once a week.

    Got down to 61kg a little while ago, but the last 3kgs just seemed too hard to lose. Now, summer is coming in Oz & I'm ready to get back to 61kg - and beyond. Xmas might throw a spanner in the works, but I want to meet it in the best shape possible!

    Tomorrow is a brand new day, no point beating yourself up. What are you going to do tomorrow to help you reach your goal? I'm going to stick within my calorie goal, run a minimum of 4 miles and treat myself to something nice, ( non food related ) not sure what yet.

    What I did to lose today: had a really really bad day today! Did no exercise at all and I ate a slice of cake!! Didn't reach my step goal for the day... I stayed within my calorie goal despite eating a slice of cake! It was my son and partners birthday today and I'm smothered with a cold so I don't feel overly down on myself but certainly tomorrow will be a better day!

    I was diagnosed in the last 3 months with hypothyroidism and rheumatoid arthritis. While neither is caused by my weight, the extra weight isn't helping at all so I really need to start losing now.
