14490 yesterday, 6.2 miles. Kind of low mileage today. I'm on an assignment being one-on-one with a little girl who is new to our district with Angelman's syndrome. She does a lot of sitting at recess and PE so I do too :-(
The other night I had to face the dreaded treadmill... Gah! I lack the inner resources for treadmill. And I lack earbuds for an electronic babysitter on treadmill.
I've also added more Y classes so my walking window has shrunk. But after this week I'm OFFOFFOFF for a whole month! I'll just do my weekend job thru the holidays. Expect some big numbers here from day hiking.
Happy walking! xo0 -
Rudy the giant GSD and I completed 6.6km in 1 hour and 8 minutes today. We incorporated plenty of hills, and through a busy shopping centre for doggie socialisation purposes.
I'm listening to the podcast 'True Murder: The Most Shocking Killers in True Crime History and the Authors That Have Written About Them'. I admit I'm a true crime buff, and this stuff keeps me pounding those pavements.0 -
Sounds good! I really need to get earbuds...
12175 steps today, 5.2 miles. Also did a yoga class & an UrbanKick class at the Y.0 -

Look at the top of the reply box...there's an icon that looks like a piece of paper with the top right corner folded down...click on the down pointer next to it and it will open a box that asks you to browse to find a photo....then you can find the photo of your fur baby that you have saved on your computer....if you are posting from your phone, then I have no idea how to do it.
You join this challenge just by posting and coming back every day.0 -

That's how I started @dryheatfitness. Be careful! It's like that children's book 'If you give a Mouse a Cookie...' Hahaha
I saw I could easily get to ten, then 12 or even 15 thousand... then I saw how close I was to 100k a week...
Lol - thanks for the warning. I'm not making the afternoon excuses anymore. Today was a brief walk to Starbucks for a pick me up (sugar free) and a linger than normal walk with the dogs. Total day:
7100+ steps
3.65 mi0 -
I did not get an "exercise" walk today. I had some errands to run and chores to work through. I boxed up four boxes of my big clothes today and put away some decor. Also went to the grocery. Managed to get 12,050 steps in for the day.0

Thank you barbiecat and AlphaHowls! I met my goal of 6000 steps today and will reset for 7000 tomorrow!0

This is Rudy the giant GSD after 60 minutes and 5.5kms on a hot day. We walked in the shade and stopped at every water fountain. He's panting like a steam train.0 -

Now I have discovered podcasts, and I am walking longer without getting bored. There are so many podcasts out there, with interests for everybody.
If you listen to podcasts, what are your favourites?
Some of my favorite podcasts are:
NPR's "Wait, Wait...don't tell me"
How Did This Get Made?
Stuff You Should Know
Talking Movies
and lately downloaded and started listening to "The Message". I've only gotten through the first episode but so far, it's fantastic.
Catching up for December: 1st=7 miles and the 2nd=3.1 miles.0 -

I'd like to join. I sit all day at work and commute at minimum of 1 hour 10 minutes each way to work. I walked for 30 minutes at lunch time today. It felt really good because the sun was shining and the weather was actually pretty decent (around 50 degrees or so). I'm in the DC area. This is my first week. I hope to be able to walk as long and as far as some of you in the near future.0
