    Successes/struggles this week:

Week 1: I was surprised by the unexpected weight loss but certainly not complaining. I have been doing a lot of walking so that helps no doubt. Christmas festivities ahead so that will likely take a weight toll too upward so it's good to have a few lbs banked I guess. Also, light is at the end of the tunnel for the top end of my goal weight. Nice present for myself if I get there.

    Successes/struggles this week:
My struggles this week were actually preparing for days out. Diabetics and pre-diabetics should remember to eat healthy snacks at regular times throughout the day. Not being prepared when you go out (like we do during the Christmas holiday season) can adversely affect your condition - as does eating the wrong types of foods. People with type 2 diabetes are usually overweight. We become overweight and develop type 2 diabetes because of the way we eat. Going out unprepared exacerbates our conditions. This week I struggled with eating properly and eating at regular intervals. By not eating properly I ended up eating lots of fast food and lots of sweets. This Christmas & New Years holiday season I see a lot of eating heavy sweets/desserts & unhealthy foods in my future; I fear I will be struggling with that for the rest of this year. Fortunately there are only 23 days left in this year (lol)

I made a mistake. My goal weight for January 1st is to be 242 lbs, not 140!

    Hi, All!

This is a follow on from the November 2015 Weight Loss Challenge. It works the same way: You set your own goals, then weigh in each week. (Feel free to change the weigh-ins to suit your own schedule.) Everyone is welcome, no matter what your goals may be. You don't need to have done the November challenge to join in December. (In fact, you can join at any time.)

You will copy the form below, and paste it in a new reply, adding your own information. Each week you will update in another new reply.

    So, here goes:

Ay chihuahua! I've been slacking off for about a month and a half, it's a slippery slope! I'm ready to get back to basics now in order to reel it in! I have serious issues with moderation, particularly with sweets, so I need to take a break from sweet things for now reset my taste buds.

Looking forward to the journey with my MFP team mates!

Weight lost/gained this month: 7.8 lbs

Successes/struggles this week: Crazy loss, I know!! I'm beginning to wonder if the scale was lying to me, but I weighed myself several times to make sure. I'm happy that I'm losing and also nervous that the loss is too fast for such a short period of time and that it will just jump right back up. Hopefully I continue to lose at a healthy rate.

When I first started using the app it was a struggle to hold myself accountable and not over eat, but now I love the challenge. I've started to list what I'm going to eat before I eat it, that way I know whether or not I can have all of the food or just a portion to stick to my calories. I've also downloaded a pedometer app to help me reach a goal of 10,000 steps per day.
