What to eat when you're CRAVING sweets?

I stick a popscicle stick in my individual yogurt and freeze. It's like ice cream but a healthier choice plus it takes forever to eat. No hunger or sugar cravings after that.0

1-2 pieces of Dove dark chocolate gets me satisfied. I don't pop a whole one in my mouth, rather make each square 2-3 small bites and savor the. I love them, not sick sweet, and chocolate makes me feel better.
If I'm hungry and craving sweets, a tablespoon of peanut butter covered in chocolate chips hits the spot.0 -
I have been eating the Dannon Light & Fit Greek Yogurt - chocolate raspberry and it's only 80 calories. It gives me my chocolate fix but not all the calories and fat.0

If I crave something sweet a lot of times I will just fit something into the calories for the day. Sugar free jello (orange and lime are my favorite) only have 10 cal. in each, and I top them with light cool whip. (15 cal for two tablespoons). Also could just do 100 calorie bag of cookies or something. I don't deprive myself most of the time. Depends on how strong the urge is. A lot of times mint gum or brushing your teeth will help the craving go away.0

A small amount of sweets. Don't keep them in your house, have a place you go to get them like an ice cream shop or even a gas station for a candy bar. If you're craving them you'll have to weigh your cravings against the hassle of going out and getting them. If your craving is that strong, by all means go out and get some and just eat a little less over the next few days if it sends you over your goals. My laziness overrides my cravings every time.0

I like a small amount of some really good dark chocolate or the Dole dark chocolate covered frozen strawberries (they come in 60 cal packs). My husband and I also love the chocolate chip cookie dough Yasso bars (or any of the Yasso frozen greek yogurt flavors really). They are only 100 cal, 5g of protein and are just as good as real chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream (13g of sugar though ).
If I'm craving sweets, I need it to be satisfying. In other words, it has to be the real thing, or close to it, so I focus more on portion control.0 -

I do yogurt too, but I think a cup of tea with milk and a teaspoon of sugar helps more!0

I've been having a sweet cinnamon tea that I found at a local store w/a tsp of honey. It tastes like Big Red gum (if that means anything to you), and is deeply satisfying, especially since I make a big cup and can sip on it forever. I also have no sugar cocoa for the same reason. BTW, neither one makes me crave more.0

Whenever I get a sweet attack/chocolate attack I stop before consuming anything
1- when was the last time I drank water? (cravings/hunger can be a sign of being thirsty)
2 - Have I eaten recently? (low blood sugar)
3- do I have the room in my day for something? (Calories/Macro)
4 - did I take my magnesium supplement? (this is for chocolate cravings, I have a magnesium deficiency and it manifests itself as a chocolate craving - (since chocolate (mostly dark) has magnesium in it)
If all yes then I will indulge in some tasty treats

If I crave sweets, I eat sweets. I used to keep a bag of dark chocolates around and limit myself to one before bed.0

Costco sells some granola bars from Fiber One that have some not-too-sweet chocolate in them. I know anything with the word "fiber" involved doesn't sound particularly appetizing, but they taste good and are good for you, while giving you something sweet.0

I find it easiest not to eat sweets -- just intensifies my cravings, etc. Not a program for everybody but works best for me! By the way usually takes 30 days of "white knuckling" for the cravings to go away (mostly!), but so worth it! So what do I eat instead when I do have cravings? here are a few things that work for me: UMP vanilla protein smoothy with 6 or 7 frozen strawberries blended in with the protein powder or an UMP chocolate protein smoothie, with SWIIG low fat powdered peanut butter and some cold coffee blended in, almond or cashew milk: UMP protein pancakes with a little nut butter drizzled on and a cup of lovely tea (I like roobois chai); plain lowfat greek yogurt with some frozen strawberry slices and a little stevia. By doing this I quell the cravings and stick to my calorie macros; also it really helps if I eat my meals on time with sufficient protein/fat/carbs. Probably the most important thing I do to quell cravings. And I'm really working on getting enough sleep. I also time my meals to work with my intense exercise sessions (I do HIIT like crossfit and bootcamp, weightlifting which really revs me up, and some running/or cross coutry road biking or intense hiking). Eating around these activities is really important so I don't get too hungry.0

If you reach for a handy protein like nuts, then you will feel full, but it still won't help until you break the addiction. It takes about 3-7 days to break the addiction. It took me 5 days. Sugar has been proven to be more addictive than cocaine. Nuts aren't protein. They're fat (predominantly).0 -

Just out of curiosity, how are you going to incorporate sugar into your life when you reach goal weight? Is avoiding chocolate/sugar something you plan to do for the next 60-80 years?
If not, there's nothing wrong with having some chocolate or a similar treat on a daily basis. It's all about budgeting it in and enjoying it fully. With a reasonable calorie deficit there's no reason you can't enjoy the things that you love. From previous experience, deprivation just leads to binging later and it's really not a fun cycle to get in to.0 -

Roasted, unsalted peanuts, an ounce is fine. They have a natural sweetness and enough protein that they always leave me satisfied.0

I've wanted chocolate for a couple days so this morning I actually had a couple smallish chocolate chip cookies with my coffee. I don't even really like cookies lol. They are the safe sweet I can normally have in the house and not want. I just logged it and will ease the calories out of other things.
I usually have some quality chocolate or fruit. I finally bought dates the other day. I love love love dates and they usually can satisfy my sweet tooth. I keep frozen berries for crunchy sweet tooth.0 -

I found that I've had to deal with this really slowly. There are these protein bars that I really, really like by Simple Truth. Still high in sugar, but not as bad as eating an entire box of oreos or something. I was doing two of those bars almost every day and this week swapped one out for fruit and I've noticed my unquenchable desire for sweets is starting to ebb away. It's getting much easier to have, say, one piece of chocolate or one cookie instead of the whole package.0
