    When the redhead says she wants to be left alone I leave her the \*&^ alone ... Problems tend to solve themselves that way as opposed to my making it worse by trying to fix them.

I'm sure you have a fantastic checklist of all of the mature and thoughtful ways you'd like to express yourself when you're fighting with someone but sometimes logic and levelheadedness go out the window when you're emotional.     When I'm irrationally angry, I leave the situation, have alone time, and come back when I've calmed down. If I tell someone I need time alone, I very much so mean it. (I don't think I'd ever phrase it "leave me alone" unless I was being badgered, it seems quite rude).

    Everyone is different in how they handle things. And frankly, I do applaud your honesty. If you told a SO exactly what you wrote here up front, then you are, in fact, telling them exactly what you need... attention. And you will act the way you do to get it. I want to be left the hell alone. And I will act the way I do to get time alone when needed.

    My my statement of don't let you represent women everywhere stands. I don't either. Whatever the OP's issue is with his SO can't possibly be dealt with in a forum of strangers.

    Unless, of course, the answer is 42.
