On my agenda for today: sleep! In 2-3 hour bits, but preferably all day long! It's 11 and I'm just done being up for the 4th time since midnight... Or is this the 5th? I can't really complain... Gabriel is not very fussy or a crier unless he's hungry.

My other task fir the day is to make hubby get some cleaning done. He's been sleeping till noon then playing video games all day and I think i'm about to murder him if it goes in another day!! At leSt he's been cooking, but I'd gladly trade in everything i am doing to be responsible just for two meals a day!

Rachel! I am SO jealous of your travels! It sounds like an awesome time. I would love to do something like that. I went to Costa Rica for 6 weeks after college and Jamaica for a week in college. That's about it. Of course, hubby still thinks that down the road we can still live on a boat for a year. Would be interesting with kids. I'd love to go back to when I was just waitressing, no career, no kids, etc and actually go do something like that. It sounds like you saw pretty much the whole world!

Rachael and Anne ~ hope you have wonderful showers today and enjoy every minute!

Mel ~ hope you are able to get some rest today.

I just finished up Slim in 6 for the day. Cannot believe in 50 minutes I only burned 338 calories. I got a new Polar HRM and it seems to be on the low side for calories burned compared to my older one (when it worked). Who knows, this one might be more accurate. I was happy to get through it with relatively no problems. I will continue with "ramp it up" for a week or two and then move to "burn it up."

Hope you lovely ladies are having a great weekend!

Just a quick check in to say hello to everyone. I hope you guys are holding up ok, I know a lot of you are dealing with difficult times right now.

This weekend is "Summer Daze" in our small country town so no time to stop in and respond to everyone (ball tournament, parade, pancake breakfasts, big dance tonight, camping- fun times!).

Mel- Thanks! I truely enjoyed my travels and I would love to see soo much more (India, New Zealand, South America, and more of Europe to be specific). I hope you manage to get some rest today!

Annabelle - yes thank you it took us a couple of months to get pregnant again and we are over the moon. So this little one should be due in February.

All of you look so cute in your pictures - and its so nice to see some faces, some of you don't show them often enough and you're all so beautiful too!

Sheri - I hope that you feel better soon, I have to say that the synthetic hormones in birth control certainly don't seem to agree with me and I turn into a hormonal monster. I think once we are well on the way with this baby and are certain that everything is as it should be I will ask DH to be referred for a vasectomy again. I think its only fair after going through pregnancies and births!

Mel - Glad that Gabriel is back at home and that you have a plan for his future care. Its great that they can build an artery out of little veins, mindblowing stuff. I believe only 50% of heart problems are picked up on ultrasound scanning.

Nappy rash - I use a cream called Metanium, not sure if you can get it there, its in a yellow tube and available at pharmacies and supermarkets in the UK. Its fantastic for drying out wet sore rashes, for dry sore rashes the best thing to use is plenty of vaseline. Sometimes I have to alternate treatment between the two depending on whether its a wet rash or a dry rash.

Julie I don't know what is wrong with some of the people in your life, how could they miss your fabulous bump. Please direct these people to the nearest opticians to pick out some glasses!

Lynn - way to go sounds like you're a natural mommy!

Brittony - I know what you mean, when my son was breech his head was like a massive lump just below my ribs and it used to stick out all the time, and I was always worried about accidentally catching it but I'm sure she will be pretty well cushioned by your abdominal wall and amniotic fluid. Hopefully she turns when you have your version done. I have everything crossed for you.

Ron - I'm with you that I would feel disappointed if my daughter got pregnant at 15 although I'm well aware it happens. I'm going to try and educate my daughter around sex when she reaches her teens and hopefully if she needs birth control I will go with her to ensure she gets it. I'm glad I waited until I was older to have children and had them when I was mature and had seen and done things with my life.

Jamie - I would advise you see your doctor who can prescribe something for baby and you that will clear it up. I'm sorry its so painful for you.

AFM - had a great night out at a family birthday party yesterday night, and of course I was questioned why I was only drinking soda so now the whole family knows about this pregnancy! I was trying to keep it under my hat for a little while but hey, I'm feeling very confident after feeling very sick all day today and not being able to eat things even though I'm hungry. My symptoms are starting to kick in seriously now which is a blessing and a curse!

I have been trying to catch up with my backlog of laundry today and I think I'm almost on top of it. I actually finally got round to making the home made laundry detergent and I'm dying to try it tomorrow!

Amanda -- Silly pup. The only thing that would make me really concerned would be if he stops eating/drinking later today. That could indicate a blockage. Hopefully the diaper is digestible enough not to cause a problem.

Dogs sure do manage to eat some dumb stuff. We had one very sick dog earlier this week and now we have another one who is sick now (but not nearly as sick as the other was). Pretty sure both of them found something stupid to eat outside.

Mel/Bethe/Anne -- Thanks for making me feel less like a freak for liking to shower alone.

Megan -- Yes, we're the couple the closes the bathroom door to pee. Hubby locks it then, too. Man, he doesn't trust me at all!

Julie – you and contractions! :noway: Wow. And I don’t remember the last time hubby and I showered together. We still have enough room in the there, but it usually leads to other activities and I’m just not interested in that lately. However, we have no shame when it comes to the bathroom. I had to pee so baldy this morning while he was shaving and I was sure that if I went to the downstairs one I’d have an accident so I just walked in and did what I had to. As I’m sitting down he says, “are you pooping too?” No honey, not this time.

Sheri – ugh, I don’t get why someone would steal from their employer. It’s just a matter of time before they get caught.

Megan – yea for shopping!!!! Can you give your mom bosses my name and address please?

Anne – I’m going to be living through you while you finish up your kitchen. I can’t wait to update ours. Hope you have a great shower and have fun shopping!

Amanda – I’d be upset too, but at least something good came out of it.

Mel – I hope you’re able to relax today. You do so much, you deserve a break.

Bethe – I never heard of Slim in 6 before, are you still doing the 30 Day Shred too?

Rachel – have a great weekend! Sounds like you’re going to be busy the whole time.

Steph – how long are you going to wait until you tell your family? I told my mom just a few days after I found out, but I made her promise not to say anything until I was almost 12 weeks. And yea for morning sickness! I know it sucks, but it’s a good sign that all is well!!!!

Today was a much better day. Hubby and my FIL went to get some errands done so my MIL and I went to Kohl’s to walk around. She wore me out! I ended up taking a 2 hour nap when we got home. But she bought 4 onesies, 2 sleeper sets and 2 pants for Kathryn. Then after my nap the 4 of us walked around the Fish Hatchery for an hour and fed the fish. There were so many little kids there; I loved watching them get so excited when the fish would jump up at the food. We’ll definitely have to do that when Kathryn is a little bit older. After dinner hubby took them to the casino for bit. I opted out because I really don’t want to sit in a smoked filled room for a few hours, so now I’m alone with the two half gallons of ice cream my FIL bought…..this could be bad. :indifferent:

Amanda- well I am glad that your hubby at least won some gift cards for being out of town! Also glad that your pup is okay for now!

Mel- Get that hubby up and working!

Bethe- Great job on the work out! I think a low calorie estimate is better than a high…

Rachel- Sounds like a fun day! Enjoy!

Steph- I am glad you are feeling sick :) and I will keep thinking about you! My friends knew something was up right away too when the beer drinking ended.

Ron- Sounds like a nice day! Enjoy that ice cream…. I love ice cream right now!

Sheri- You are looking great! Looks like a nice hike!

AFM: Shower was amazing, got some great items from my friends. Feeling like we almost have everything! My sister made my crib skirt which is soooo nice and she also made so cute headbands and my SIL made an AMAZING quilt, I love it so much! Then I went to the consignment sale and got a great pack and play for day care, I also got a bunch of little sleepers and some 6 months clothes which I don’t have has much of.

okay mama's... I just went through and organized all my baby clothes.... we have about 12 newborn outfits (too many I know but most are used from my niece) and SO many 3 month clothes.... then 6 month on we have barely anything. Is this what your supply looked like too? Some of my 3 months have tags with no reciepts, should I try to return them to trade in for bigger sizes? How many 3 month outfits do you need/how long do they wear them?

I have literally nothing for over 3 months. I have I think 6 sleepers with feet and about the same amount without legs, and 2 undershirts. I have nothing for newborn. I don't plan to get anything else because after the baby comes there will either be a shower, or we will get many gifts from family and friends, so I know I will get lots of clothes and stuff then.

Bethe - I have Slim in 6, also...but I never got past the first stage :blushing: Maybe we can motivate each other to do it... I really need to start something.

Sheri - is that carrier in your pictures one from Target?? I have that one too, if it is! That sounds like a good days outing!!

Anne - We only had a few NB outfits...maybe 5 onesies and 2 or 3 outfits. She was 8 lbs, 5 ozs though so she was on the high end of the NB weight. We had a HEAP of 0-3 onesies (like 20+) and she only wore about half of them. The 3 month outfits she can wear a lot longer than the onesies and is still in some of them. She is just so long that things dont fit her right. She is in 3-6 onesies now that are mostly too short...so she will be in 6 mos soon. I LOVE things like little jumpers/rompers (I think that's what BRU calls them), they seem to fit her better. I might would exchange some of the outfits for some 6 mo things, just because you don't know how fast she'll grow... Some things I tried to exchange without a receipt and they would only give me a few dollars for, so I just kept those. You can always wear things more than once, but I hated to see things get put away because they were too small that were never worn at all.... ya know?

Ok, so our power just went out! Looks like I need to get off of here to save the laptop battery! Thanks a lot, thunderstorm! Good night ladies!

AnneElise - I got VERY lucky and have some wonderfully generous friends. My sisters best friend let me go through all the baby clothes from her twins (that she couldnt consign). Combine that with bf's good friend giving us a ton of clothes and getting all of my sisters baby clothes. As a result, baby S has more clothes than she will every possibly wear from now until she is 2 yrs old! I count my blessings with everyone being so generous.

Thanks Rachel, Megan and Maureen for the clothes advice.... i am glad to see I am not alone with too many clothes. I am not really worried about getting more for the older sizes because I have a niece who is 1.... and my sister has given me free reign of her clothes. I am considering trying to return some clothes but the sad thing is most of ours are from consignment sales or hand me downs... some new clothes but the ones with tags are ones that we bought when we first found out so they have some sentimental value to me... I guess Megan you are saying it just depends on how your baby grows? I know we have too much newborn stuff but people keep giving us more (most are used so I don't feel bad if she doesn't wear them).

Maternity shoot today! and my first sign of stretch marks on the belly :noway: Do these go away after birth?

Happy fathers day to all the DH's and SO's out there!

I went back and read my post...LOL it sounds kind of confusing! I was writing that mid power outage so my mind was a little scattered. I kept a lot of things and just washes as needed, instead of washing everything (meaning you had to keep everything). If I saw that some things weren't going to be worn, that's when I exchanged. I'm still exchanging stuff...and still haven't taken tags off of bigger clothes just in case. I didn't want to return anything we bought for her ourselves either...most things said something like "daddy's girl" so it was special to us.

Yay for the maternity shoot! I loved mine! My stretch marks haven't gone away...I got a ton from being pregnant. I k now they'll fade over time to white instead of redish, but never go away all together.

Ronya -- You just reminded me that I bought a half gallon of ice cream yesterday. Mmmmmm. Yesterday I was eating a bowl of chocolate ice cream with gummy bears on top & had a bowl with a serving of potato chips in it, too. My husband walked by, did a double take & said "What, are you pregnant or something?!"

Sheri -- Wow, you're looking amazing!

Anne -- I'm so glad you had a nice shower. I'm getting excited about my last one on Tueday. I can't stay out of my registries so I know we're getting a Bumbo at least. I had kind of given up on having one of those even though I wanted one because it's not something I'd spend $40 on myself. I have fewer newborn outfits than anything else. We have a lot of 0-3, 3-6, and 6-9 and 9-12 already. We probably won't need to buy any clothes at all for the first year unless she's small and in newborn clothes for a while. If that's the case, I'll just buy some cheap onesies or t-shirts. It's too hot to wear clothes here in the summer anyway.

Keep in mind holidays. You will prob get a bunch of 6mo clothes for Christmas. And if you don't mind hand me downs and garage sales there is tons of time to come across cute and cheap larger clothes!

I have stretch maks from groin to boobs on belly. TThey never went away. I guess that is what you get for twins yoour first pregnancy. Mime don't bother me though, they are testimony to my amazing body that grew 11 children. I am older and pretty comdfortable w/ my body, not always the case though.
