    I confess that I weigh myself about 5 times a day naked. I obsess over eating right and losing weight. People probably get tired of hearing me talk. I'm starting to memorize calories on specific items.

    I confess that I enjoy hearing about other people pig out... it's like a weird smug form of voyeurism... when I'm eating a salad and I see someone with a huge plate of caloric food in front of them I'm kind of fascinated in self-satisfied sort of way. Like, I want to eat what they're eating, but I'm NOT eating what they're eating and I'm kind of glad... it's complicated.

    I am going to be turning 40 this july. I confess..I am hoping for my 40's to be really good, way better than my 30's, which I was kinda lost in motherhood.

    I was so depressed for about 3 weeks when I turned 40. Not so much because I was 40, but because of how everyone around me acted about it. Black balloons and Grim Reaper decorations on my desk, big "life decisions" to be made... I was now in that "40 and over" group that has to start paying really close attention to all sorts of grown-up things... but then I realized that I felt no different than I had at 39 (or 29... or 19 for that matter).
