Minimal loss again this week...starting to get discouraged  My 18 month old and husband both had the flu this past week, making it very difficult to go out to jog. Haven't deviated whatsoever from my diet, actually eaten less since I've exercised less, yet still barely lost anything. Sigh....hoping for better results next week.

Recent Cornell University findings suggest that shying away from the scale can cause those former pounds to sneak back onto your frame—not what you want! According to senior author David Levitsky, people who weigh themselves daily and track the results are more likely to lose weight and keep it off than those who check in less often. The method “forces you to be aware of the connection between your eating and your weight,” Levitsky said in a press statement. “The scale also acts as a priming mechanism, making you conscious of food and enabling you to make choices that are consistent with your weight.”

4 tips to Curb Compulsive Over Eating

Wear fitted clothes. Next time you go out to dinner, don't wear those pants with the elastic waistline. Instead, choose snug clothes that will tell you when you’re full.

Try a fiber supplement. Supplements like psyllium husk capsules expand in your stomach, literally filling you up and subduing that out-of-control appetite. Plus, they're calorie-free and full of fiber, the healthy way to keep things moving.

Remember to hydrate. It not only optimizes body function, it also quells the urge to snack and tames your hunger before a meal. So if you feel like you could eat the entire lasagna, first drink a big glass of water or seltzer.

Don't skip meals. You need three squares a day, plus one snack between lunch and dinner. Don’t go any longer than four hours without eating. That’s when your blood sugar levels go haywire, and you’re more likely to go overboard once you do eat.(JM)(EH)

    WALK 45 Minutes

You’ll lose weight and fat if you walk 45 minutes a day, not 30.
The reason we’re suggesting 45 minutes instead of the typical 30 is that a Duke University study found that while 30 minutes of daily walking is enough to prevent weight gain in most relatively sedentary people, exercise beyond 30 minutes results in weight and fat loss. Burning an additional 300 calories a day with three miles of brisk walking (45 minutes should do it) could help you lose 30 pounds in a year without even changing how much you’re eating.
