Thanks Terri. I know that. But it's just the doing it every day that's the problem. I've been on mfp for a year and have lost over 50 lbs. I'm really proud of myself for that! But.... I'll be perfect for like 5 days, then not so much for a couple. I'm not gaining (which is a plus) but I'm not losing either. I know what worked for me to get here. It's just having the willpower to keep it going. I'm hoping as the weather breaks and the with time change so I can walk after work things will start moving for me again. This thread is great-checking in every week, but I know it's really an internal motivation that I need to succeed.

    Getting The Weight Off

Getting the weight off—and keeping it off—is a slow process. Watching the number on a scale can be depressing. Plus if you're focused on losing a set number of pounds in a specific amount of time, missing that goal can be very disappointing. Losing weight should be a secondary benefit to your overall health gains—not your primary goal. The steeper the mountain, the more difficult the first step is. And if you're carrying a lot of extra weight, taking that first step toward a healthier lifestyle can be especially daunting. With that being said, by setting the bar too high, you're setting yourself up for failure. Start by setting modest goals and avoid the pitfalls of burnout or the debilitating repercussions of missing your targets.

Starting stronger steroids tomorrow and the nurse told me I will gain weight on them. All hope of making my goal is lost at this stage I'm just hoping I can prevent a massive weight gain. I know my health has to be priority but i have worked hard to get down over 3 stone and if I start gaining again I'd be heart broken. Have found it hard enough on the lower dose steroids to keep my weight down but then I haven't been well enough to work out either.

I have lost 15lbs since the beginning of January. 11lbs more to go to reach my (pre children) goal weight. I have a small frame so it's a weight that suits me although it's quite low! So glad to join this challenge so I can rock my bikini this summer :)

This is really frustrating but managing not to gain on steroids is at least something to be happy about. I have so much energy the last few days and I'm putting it to good use. This is just a little stall on my road to success. Considering my consultant told me I would definitely gain I'm happy enough to be controlling that.

    Get a mantra

You’ve heard of a self-fulfilling prophecy? If you keep focusing on things you can’t do, like resisting junk food or getting out the door for a daily walk, chances are you won’t do them. Instead (whether you believe it or not) repeat positive thoughts to yourself. “I can lose weight.” “I will get out for my walk today.” “I know I can resist the pastry cart after dinner.” Repeat these phrases and before too long, they will become true for you.
