Biggest gym pet peeves..

- When I catch people staring at me. I know they aren't checking me out so that makes it even weirder for me.
- When I can't get the machine/bench/equipment I want and nothing that is similar is available either so I wander around looking lost trying to figure out what to do instead.

Oof! I completely forgot to mention the unsolicited advice. I hate it. You would think people would know that everyone hates unsolicited advice.0 -

I know working out is euphoric .... but come on we all don't want to hear you fake an orgasm every time you curl.....
I could stand to hear a little more...
HAHAHA I am sure in a different setting awesome but when I am deadlifting no...... And it is sooo fake sounding ....the whole weight room stops because it is so ridiculous0 -
I typically go to the gym after work and do not get bothered by anything, but due to an occasional shift in work schedule, I sometimes find myself having to go in the morning before work, there was a group of 4-5 people (probably 50-60 years old that would come in every day at the same time, the one man (I called him the ring leader) would sit down on a machine of choice and the rest would gather around and they would talk to eachother for like 45 minutes and then they would all leave... Not a single weight was lifted, no physical activity what so ever even came close to happening... It was not annoying as much as it was confusing to me. Like it was social hour but they just did it at the gym so they could say that they went? I was baffled.
any how, the only thing that really bugs me is when people don't wipe down their stuff, especially now with cold/flu season in full effect, but that isn't really even an issue when you are a germ a phobe like me because I always wipe everything before I touch it... Just in case.0 -
Curling in the squat rack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sprints in the weight room!!!!!!
Jumping rope in the weight room (blocking people from getting to the dumbells!!!!
Playing on your phone/talking/hogging equipment for insane amountsof time!!!!!!!!
WAAAAIT!
I jump rope in the weight room. Between sets.
Sure beats the bench warmers taking selfies and MFPing between sets!0 -
-That there is almost never a free squat rack. I've started going at 5:30 am just so I don't have to stand in line to do squats.
-old man balls. I know it's a locker room and your gonna get naked, but do you really need to have long conversations with your foot up on the bench I'm trying to sit on that way??
-all the beautiful women who aren't hitting on me. Sure, I'm married and pudgy, but I just left all my sweat on the bench your using, and you STILL haven't come over to talk to me! I don't get it!0 -
wrong thread0

I go at night when there are either very few people there so I don't really deal with the regular peeves. The only thing that's irritated me was one night a guy was in there playing music on his phone insanely loud and yelling so much lol. Like not the lifting weight kind of growling or whatever, he just kept yelling to himself and shouting "HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" punching the air and shizz between doing stuff. Like dang ok I know ur pumped but can u simmer down just a lil bit sir0

Yep. I am probably going to get flagged for it because it seems someone on this thread is abusing the flagging system.0 -
@headofphat that is disgusting, but at the same time Hilarious!!!
I don't use the weight room much, but when I do I always wipe the machine down before and after, there are a lot of people that don't clean their sweat off!0 -
@goofyrick24 I am glad I am not near you when you are doing cardio! LOL0

My gym discontinued free wifi. I loved being able to surf the web for an hour while cycling. Now my ebook expenditures are increasing.0

Aerosol hair spray in the ladies locker room. On top of the perfume already sprayed. This done standing in front of the mirrors and the only place to walk just happens to be directly in their line of fire. Some women don't even realize how heavy they are coating this on. Ugh. makes me gag.
I wished the gyms would consider walk-ways when building locker rooms.0 -
Bad BO coming off the person working out beside me.1

I'm like Excuse me She-Ra
You're mad that people can lift more than you?
No---read again buddy...I'm talking about selfish She-Ras
So for example, how much weight is TOO much weight? And maybe there's a language barrier here, but I don't know what a she-ra is.
Well--Google it--I don't have to explain anything to you--go internet bully someone else.
If you don't want to tell me what one is, that's fine. It was just a question though.

Wearing non prescription sunglasses indoors....you might be a DB 75% of those are accompanied by the bandana head gear. Its kind of hilarious.0

Leaving only one dumbbell on the weight rack.. Or not having the dumbbells in the correct order.sabrina_dolce wrote: »Bad BO coming off the person working out beside me.

Don't feel old. If it was from a tv show, I just didn't see it. I watch college football. That's about it.
Which brings up a gym pet peeve of mine: oh wait, no it doesn't.0 -

One of my workout buddies has a habit of staring off into space (must be some deep thinking) when he's between sets. More than once he has had either an annoyed guy or creeped out girl throw him some dirty looks. One woman even berated him for staring. The rest of us find it hilarious.0 -

I loved this cartoon when I was younger. Me and my brother once had a sword fight (with kitchen knives) and he ended up needing stitches. We both thought it was awesome, my mom... Not so much.

are you intentionally using "she" as a pejorative? classy-2 -
When my neighbor comes to chat with me in the middle of a lift. I built a home gym for a reason, damn it! Too damned hot most days to close the garage door and you'd think blaring Ministry would run anyone off! I need a bigger, meaner dog. (Jk)
Ok, seriously, I have none. The above is as bad as it gets, and I actually like the guy. Let's call it gym nirvana.
Maybe the fact that I need to buy a GHD?0 -
I'm not sure why it bugs me but, people that wear jeans to workout.
Also, people that talk really loudly on their cell phone.
And, obviously, people that apply a shat ton of perfume.0 -
People who sit on their phones on a machine and just zone out. Then you ask if they are using it and they say, "yeah". So I become a smart *kitten* and say, "ya know its not a wifi hot spot right?"0
-
that people who want to WALK on the treadmills when there are other people waiting to RUN on them !0
