Spam filters need updating again?? Forums had been relatively mass spammer free for a little while but in the past week or so a new wave seems to be ramping up.

Gone now until the next registration. Seems to stop at 10 posts, one post per a forum.

Don't know if its the filters stopping it at 10 is due to multi posting in a short period of time, but if it is could the filters be fined tuned down further, no one needs to post that many similar posts (even legit posts) in a very short period of time...

One or two of these spammers don't have an MFP username, as you can see by trying to message them. They obviously have a forum username, so are they creating an MFP account then deleting it, leaving a "zombie" account on Vanilla Forums, or are they bypassing straight into Vanilla ?

@Nova What I'm seeing is they have an MFP user name when you see them on the forums but if you click their name and click 'send message' the name in the To: box where a name should be it shows up as "username" instead of a actual username like yours or mine. Make sense?

me too. I'm aware that MFP and the forums have separate user databases with a "single sign on" procedure used to tie the two together. I have a test account where this is broken, I can log into MFP and do diary stuff but never log into the forums with it.

I thought there might be a way into the forums exposed but I have also seen in the help system that the messaging may show a blank username at times anyway, so who knows.
