I can see from previous entries everyone has let you know you can eat bacon and it isn't 500 cal. I just want to mention that I bake it on a rack. I think you have to find a way to work the foods you love into your meal plan. If not you will obsess about what you are missing and binge.9

Look up nutrition info for microwaved bacon! I put 2 layers of paper towel on a plate, lay the bacon down, cover with another paper towel, and microwave for 1 minute per slice and add 30 seconds on to the total because I like crispy bacon. The fat cooks out and into the paper towels. So far I've found this works best with Oscar Mayer bacon. You may need to adjust cooking time for your taste and per brand of bacon. It cuts the calories and fat almost in half. The info I have found says 25 calories, 2 grams of fat per slice. I've used that as my bacon info, which i eat at least 4 days a week, without any problems. Give it a try.6 -
I like my lou's apple wood smoked bacon (smoked pork loin similar to Canadian bacon) 5 slices for 120 calories...it's the bomb.4

The bacon I use has 500 kcal in a whole 150 g package...the entry you used is way off... I also prepare it in the oven so no extra calories there3

This thread makes me so sad. I'm going to go drown my sorrows in a big glass of bacon. Which only has 40 cals/slice by the way...17

...I switched to turkey bacon. It wasn't the calories, it was the fat and the sodium that made me part ways with it.7

I dunno about anyone else but I want some 500 calorie bacon.14

Life without bacon just isn't worth living. I switch between the real stuff and turkey bacon, but generally only have one or two slices.3

I cure and smoke my own. My last lot was Espresso Maple Bacon. It was divine.4

Oh, bacon is worth it! I buy Costco's regular Kirkland brand bacon and it's 40 calories per slice.1

Just like the internet in general, verify the entries you choose to use in the food database. I eat Kirkland bacon, usually only 1 piece but could easily fit a couple in my daily allowance. I had it wrapped around my asparagus and grilled for dinner last night.0
